  1. We are back on track. Take TWO......... Art
  2. You can use a wire lug that is the correct way to splice large wires. They are used in electrical splices up to three phase connections. They can then be covered with NOlox a compound designed to prevent corrosion and then taped up with high voltage tape which is stretchy and seals to itself. This is not like the electrical tape you use which is thin and plastic it is the rubber type of tape. Art
  3. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion no matter what it is. The issue is when people do not accept other opinions as being valid is where the problem lies. People seem to want to argue about their opinions backed up by what they read and feel all other ones are wrong. If someone disagrees with an opinion that is o.k. just leave it as "we will have a difference of opinions and move on." I haven't the time or energy to referee adults on how to respect other views. It is easier for me to be the bad guy and lock the thread and put the offenders in modQ which I hate doing to adults. Thanks for listening Art
  4. Do not argue in this thread or it will be locked and people modQed Thank you Art
  5. O.K. we still can't seem to talk politly on the Covid so all of the threads will be locked. If you three want to discuss this use P.M. or you will be ModQed. Last chance Art
  6. Veery nice job, I don't have the patients to tye one fly much less a batch of them. Art
  7. Well said Drew thank you for starting this Holiday off with sound advise for the times as we figure out how to be better to each other. Art
  8. Merry Christmas or happy holiday which ever you prefer. In the spirit of the holidays I am going to lock this down. My warning appears to have gone unheeded. Art
  9. y'all just can't play nice. Consider this your only warning it will be locked next time there is an insult typed. Art
  10. You also run the risk of not catching any fish with the live scope because you never wetted the line because you were watching the screen all day. It really is facinating what you see but what is the line where you have to big of an advantage over the fish. I think that when you go out some of what makes the good trips better are the trips where you did poorly. I enjoy looking at a flasher and figuring out the puzzle of what is going on below and then proving it by catching the fish. Art
  11. Being that you are ice fishing meaning you are not in a constant flux of moving trying to measure lots of different elements, I think the improvements a new system would have would be wasted. When I am either running over 50 MPH or stationary in the boat I use my flasher more than my Lowrance unit. It tells me the depth, bottom hardness and floating objects easily at a glance. When I am looking for things I cruise between 2 and 8 mph then I use my Lowrance down or sidescan. Art
  12. Any weld on aluminum cleaned and welded correctly should take an hour. If you are looking for cheap then the best way to get your money's worth is to go local and not spend the extra time driving for a "deal". Hope this helps Art
  13. Very nice looking Brian if you need them tested on Southern Crappie let me know. Art
  14. This has been replaced by a Sabinki rig which is 6 small hooks with mylar as the bait. We use them to catch bait. Art
  15. Interesting I have not heard of this way of prepairing game. Art
  16. We have a no politics rule I cleaned it up this time , next time it is locked. thanks Art
  17. Thank you for all of the great pictures Dave. We had kind of a damper down here with the COVID and such so I didn't get out as often as I wanted. We had a really good season down here with the Snakeheads and the Bass. The water temperatures have cooled down to a point where the Snakehead bite is over for the season but next year it should fire up again. As I have said before if you are near the Potomac River give me a shout and we can get after a few of the local species. Art
  18. He said Tiller.......lol Art
  19. Welcome to the board. The answer you seek needs to be answered by your local providence DNR where you plan on hunting. I would not go by information that is posted by anyone unless it is an official document that you can carry. Art
  20. Very nice catch. Art
  21. Very nice fish Brian Art
  22. Thanks for sharing I am so Far South it is something I will never see unless I get back up North. Art
  23. I replace all of my fluids as per the schedule in the book. It is good cheap insurance. The brake fluid of yesteryear dot3 and the new dot5 are different with the 5 being less hydrophobic meaning it stays separated between the dot5 and the water a little better. The down side is it allows the water to contact the ABS system and sensors in the brake system and they rust or become blind. Art
  24. The good news is that I have 2 14 gallon fuel cells with a separate tank selector. I put 13 gallons in the left one and fish that one going out and use the 14 gallon tank to get back on. So far I haven't run out of gas yet. I am very happy that gas down here is in the $2.15 a gallon here so I can keep running my 2 stroke gas sucking pig of a motor. Send me a picture of how your seats attached and I can tell you if it will adapt to yours as well. IF so I can send you photos of what I motified to get mine in. Art
  25. that extra 32 OZ sure would help it would add another 20 seconds to my gallon of fun. lol Art
