  1. Happened to me going down the 401. Stalled at 120k pulled it over. Sat for about 5 minutes after repeated attempts to restart. Turned it over one more time and it fired back up. Took it to the mechanic and he changed out the fuel filter. It also hiccuped since the day I bought it so he figured the filter was well on its way then.
  2. I have snows on but I don't think the guy that spun out in front of me and hit the wall on the 401 did this morning
  3. I generally go looking for specific materials on line pertaining to certain fly patterns when I'm looking to buy so its all about who's got it and who doesn't. Lots of stuff out there and the prices are generally set by quality in material so I would just surf around until you find what it is you need. Always nice to have a fly shop a few minutes down the road though.
  4. A juvenile bald eagle almost made off with my dog two years ago at camp. He swooped down to snag my dog but my wife got herself close enough to scare him off in the nick of time. My dogs name is Waldo,go figure
  5. I've been doing something similar over the years but I don't use sausage tubes. I dry the meat sticks out in a food dehydrator after curing . http://www.nesco.com/products/Dehydrators/Dehydrators/FD-28JX-Jerky-Xpress-Food-Dehydrator/ This is an awesome way to make great jerky treats without having to fire up a smoker.
  6. Great job folks !!! And to think I was the very first poster over ten years ago.....
  7. Joey, Really valid point . We have a pair of small dog trimming scissors with rounded ends that would work well on any fishing vest. Also I do believe fishing type forceps have a cutting edge like a pair of scissors. I usually just shred spawn bags of the hook anyhow with no problems. Couple pulls and they tear off.
  8. I can cover the fly fishing area for ya TJ
  9. Personal messenger doesn't seem to be working in the drop down
  10. I've owned a 2004 Ford F150 4.6 litre for about six years now. Only thing I've ever done to it are oil changes and some brake work and replaced an axle seal. I like the look of the new F150's as well. Go Ford !
  11. I was in Dryden one year moose hunting and decided to go do some fishing. Caught some pike and decided to clean them. As I filleted the pike I place the meat on a rock behind me. When I was done I turned around to get my fillets and caught a mink carrying off the last of the fillets to his lair which unbeknown to me was just a couple feet away from my pile of fish. Bonappetit !!
  12. My lucky number is 7 I use 7 winds on my improved clinch knot .......
  13. Congrads Rich and congrads to all the others here that are on their way to freeing themselves of this nasty habit and not to mention huge government money grab.
  14. Very cool. I imagine the method of getting these fish could be improved somewhat like using heavier gear to control the fish better. Maybe take them under a float and level wind with muskie sized or heavier type rod. Sure its a wonderful idea to take one of these fish with a fly rod but the fly rods just seem like they are under powered for this application ??? Its an amazing video and the potential of unlocking this fishery looks like it could become a reality if the fish could be protected in the end. I hope they pull it together.
  15. No worries bud,we are all open minded around here. One time I brought a brand new muskie pole home from the shop and tried to show my wife how strong it was. I ended up with molecules all over the kitchen floor after I tried to warm it up muskie style in front of her Thankfully it had a life time warranty on it and I new the fella who sold it to me not more than 20 minutes previously. Anyhow you go out and let a couple big steelhead warm that Okuma up for ya like it was intended for and make sure to take pictures so you can come back and show all these folks just how its done. Have fun and keep things simple and you'll do fine...
  16. Jacques, I went through it just 24 months ago with my father and although it wasn't cancer that took him it was probably the toughest year we had gone through as a family and we were glad in a sense that his suffering had finally come to an end. My condolences to you and your family Jacques and even more so for enduring this once again within such a short period of time since your fathers passing. ChrisK
