  1. Pounding a beer like that would just be a lil tease... for us Canadians anyways! Kidding aside, it is sad really. Don't worry about them. Here's how it will go... 1. Personal life stress 2. addiction 3. Peer pressure 4. tramatic life changing event 5. injury They will keep their jobs. It's obvious that some of them have a sickness and/or problem. Hopefully now they will get some help.
  2. Yes Sir. Wear it when running around, then strip down if need be. It can blow up where you are fishing the B1, better safe then sorry.
  3. Seems to be a pattern for sure with fishing and stringed instruments going hand in hand. Roy may remember the fist MTG at BOQ where almost everyone was able to grab Diplips 5 string guitar and belt out a tune. Then of course Doogle broke in with some impressive vocals.
  4. But if you were and whined about your partner who would you be missing? BTW, I like my whine red with beef and white with fish and I sure do miss my mommy's omlettes.
  5. Prefect draw and perfect fish! Quite a sack! Kudos!
  6. I agree. Also, at certain times your better to troll with the wind and the surge of the waves. Incase this is something you might get into practising (if not already), you'll want the higher horsepower.
  7. Good article in the Star today. Atleast Quinn admits there is such a thing as "blue and white disease". NO matter how brutal a team, they well always sell out. Although in the article, it SOUNDS like he is trying to repay the fans. Here's hoping. Sorry.. meant Burke.
  8. Nice fish kickingfrog Very True MJL, it was posts from Ehg and others that got me on the head water browns. Unfortunatley I recently snapped the tip to my fav ultralite Mitchell Zero gravity rod (anyone has one I will gladly buy it). I'll be back it until the creeks start to freeze, or at least the angler do, then it's steel time.
  9. My favourite reel ever was the Emblem Z, close second is the Whisker. Both Diawa. As for the Okuma, I have a few of their Inpsira spinning reels, and to be honest, I have never had an issue with them. Boated a fair share of Simcoe smallies and Niagara lakers with'em too. For price point I would definitely have a looksee at the Okumas. But it is tough to beat the Stradic for all round reel if you want and are able to spend the money.
  10. I had to replace mine. They pop up on Kijiji here and there, have an eye.
  11. I'll admit I still use my teeth when setting up steelhead leads. A buddy of mine puts a handful of shot in his mouth when he does it, then again he smokes about 3 packs a day. He's still alive, just doesn't look like it.
  12. 1. is my fav. Little thing I do is marinate the fillets/chunks in Franks Red hot for an hour before flouring. Ummh hmmm... Simcoe on Monday! Just to add a little something else... bacon wrapped chunks for the picky folks... everything is better with bacon!
  13. Looking forward to the 25th! Love resident birds. Also been working on my deer stand, I am going to tweak it a little this year and add a gun rest.
  14. hahah, nice one Dave! I have a T shirt for your next FYI. haha.
  15. Love it, love it, love it. Only drawback I see is it is based only on length, tough to measure the true weight without the girth, especially for bass. However for walleye and pike I think this would work. Thanks for posting this Ron, I have shared it on another site aswell.
  16. I am echoing what Lew said. Lady Simcoe can whip up in a heart beat. Take one wave over the back and snuff that motor you could be in serious trouble, fast. I am experienced on big water, especially Simcoe, and still have white knuckle runs on the lake. Not trying to spook ya bud, but the main lake is not for a boat like that combined with your experience IMO. Trailer over to the Jersey river, Pefferlaw or Holland as mentioned before. Good Luck
  17. Maybe you should use your pinky next time you go digging. Looks like a great trip gents!! Now lets go get some smallies, you guys get your shirts?
  18. Sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Good for you still giving the Classic a go.
  19. Toothpick, just rip a sliver off the flat ones.
  20. Ted, here is all you need for Wollaston Lake this time of year. But you have to have a trolling motor to cover water and stay on the structure. Structure - the first main break, usually 8-12ft of this lake. Can be a weed or rock/sand edge. 1. jerk bait - Xrap 10, rouge, pointer, anything you are confident with and cast along the break. 2. shallow crankbait - minus 1, DT 6/10 anything you are confident with and cast into the shore and bring it over the break. 3. if you find a weedbed/structure holding a school of fish have a tube/senkos style bait ready to pick it apart. The above are good for that lake as you will get both LMB and SMB in the same area. I would say a flipping jig for #3 but a tube is better for SMB, they will eat a flippin jig, but a tube is higher percentage. Good luck
  21. Without having the book in front of me Terry, I would wager you bought that reel for less then a retailer here could get it wholesale.
  22. Inventory for CDN retailers simply costs more to buy from distributors here then in the US. An example is the difference in price in CDN and US $ for books and magazines.
