  1. Good news bud. Glad everything is ok. I fish some of the same rivers, maybe I'll run into ya sometime. I'll look for the guy that leans a little to the left. Cheers, Phil
  2. Thanks Lew and the others for the heads up on the ice. Going to have a looksee Sunday and see if I can get out. I have a couple areas I think should be holding some smallies. For Muskie, I would assume a dead Bait setup would work for them through the ice as it does for Northerns?
  3. I have heard some of the Kawarthas are starting to freeze up. With lack of wind later this week who knows, we could be on the ice for Muskie and Bass this year. Neat to target bass through the ice. Not a muskie guy per say, but it would be cool to have a crack at bass. Any ice bass tips? Never done it before. Tough to flip weed edges or skip docks like I am used to! Not much of a live bait guy either.
  4. When I painted up my duck boat I used a pine branch and 3 different colour spray paints and it turned out awesome. I thought hey, that pattern would look super cool in the basement. Mentioned it to the Queen bee, her repsonse was bright pink would look nice in the master bdrm too. An idea anyways Gerrit.
  5. Cool, I think you guys went one way and I went the other. I am sure we'll hook up at some point. Cheers.
  6. Hope GSP dyes KOS' hair a certain colour. Sorry lil harsh but my coffee sucks this morning.
  7. Good for you Cityfisher! Buy once, buy right. Do not buy an Echo. I had nothing but issues with mine. I am pretty sure they came up with name after hearing all the curse words through the bush. I have a Stihl now, very happy with it. Little tough to get started sometimes, but she's good to go when she does. Also, I respect what others are saying about safety 100 percent. Read up on proper use of the saw and take your tim e. You'll get the hang of it.
  8. Hey bud, I passed your contact info on. You don't drive a grey Ram do ya?
  9. We had a booth with our Off the Dock toons stuff at this show. From our point of veiw it was a huge success! In addition we were close to the main stage where I could take in some of the seminars. Gord and Ken are great speakers and Lawren shared very in-depth knowledge on sonars. We will be back next year! BrianB, I brought my gloves and helmet Friday, but someone was a no show!!
  10. Well Said JohnF. I agree 100 percent.
  11. You missed how I spelt "with" though, 50% not bad.

  14. I had a black lab I field trained pretty hard core. While camping one year on Lingham lake we brought a potatoe gun out to our island site. With out thinking, I loaded the sucker up and let one fly. Remmy was his name. He thought I had knocked down a potatoe duck half way across the lake when he saw the splash. Off he went. I jumped in the boat, chased him, but he wouldn't come to the boat until he had the tater. I had to go back to the site, get his duck sock fly back out to him before he would give up the hunt. He slept like a baby that night. Man I miss him. Great dog. Our family dog growing up was an irish setter/golden retriever mix named Copper. Beautiful dog. One X-mas eve we had family over and my Dad(after quite a few pops) thought he would show all the kids our new budgie, Freddy. As 10 or so kids sat around excited to pat freddy the bird, my Dad opens up the cage. The Dog was lying on the floor under the cage and to the SHOCK and AWE of the kiddies the bird only got 6 inches out of the cage and Bang. Copper had'em. Til this day we still laugh about it...bird was fine after a $1100 bill from the vet...$1100! My Mom and sis would not let freddy go. What are budgies nowadays? Guesstimate $50? Maybe not the dumbest dog stories, moreso the owners.
  15. It sure is, when guiding my insurance required I had all of the above. There is a ton of overhead for guides, not an easy biz to run.
  16. I dunno Johnny, that 3rd goal was a pretty good break. Burke's a smart dude. Making deals in haste or from media pressure is like being on "tilt" in poker. I am sure he wants to make a move but why go all in if you don't have to. From my past experience when a team isn't gelling, its usually the coaching team who are to blame. Not only the head coach. Sometimes change is good.
  17. I had a kitten for 18 hours once, she then went back to mommy and the food/bowls/litterbox went back to the store.
  18. She's snowing like a bugger and the wind is brutal today. Kudos to anyone fishing the tribs out this way today. I believe you are a HEO Copper, if so my bro inlaw was looking for a loader operator for snow removal, I can send his info to ya if you like.
  19. I had a chat with an older co-worker yesterday. We were talking about income vrs expenses nowadays and in the past. He agreed things may be relative in terms of wages vrs expenses ($5hr then to $30hr today), but also stated back in the day you used less of your income to cover your costs i.e. house costs, utilities etc. I don't know many friends or family who now have a one income family. It is just to hard to get by with all the Luxuries we must have. I do wish life was simpler now, but then again you have to deal with what you are dealt. My wife actual told me a girl in my daughters school has a cell phone in SK! I'll continue to teach my girls the about the outdoors and fishing creeks with raw hot dog and bacon chunks for chubs.
  20. Of all the time I have put in out there I have seen two. One in cooks bay. Absolute giant, got it off a 22ft weedline fishing for largies on a 2oz Flippin jig. I was able to lift it close to the boat almost snapping my rod with 80lb braid. When she turned and sliced the line. Best way to describe the colouring was Pink. Paleish with a bright pink hue. The other was a big tiger muskie who ate a buddies jerk bait off Thorah. Have the pic of that one somewhere.. see if I can find it.
  21. HAHAHA Beauty JOE!!!! Looks like Dr. Gulpmellows?
