  1. They are what they are. Maybe the most durable rod out there, although Shimano has one now as well. Not as sensitive as most. What you get with one you give with the other. If you are using the outfit and sensing light bites is key, it would not be my choice. Having said that, my uncle upgraded his fishing rod about 25 years ago to an ugly stick and using his mitchel reel from the 60s will still out fish the boat sometimes using a giant hook and a rubber core sinker.
  2. It would not take much for someone who knows his stuff when it comes to that can. Interesting to see the 2 different flesh colours of the brookies eh. Baitfish and crustaceans. BTW was Bill camera shy. Or was he too busy taking pictures of everyone else's fish.
  3. There is an app for that.
  4. From todays Globe and Mail. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/facts-and-arguments/outsourcing-your-love-life-the-blob-from-the-deep-burglar-exits-upstage/article1568176/ Thought du jour “It is easy to fly into a passion – anybody can do that – but to be angry with the right person and to the right extent and at the right time and with the right object and in the right way – that is not easy, and it is not everyone who can do it.” – Aristotle
  5. I'll just bookmark this post, and pull it up anytime someone says stuff about my fishin' stuff. I'll try to get some photos of my stuff, but I'm feeling a little tackle envy right now and I'm not sure I measure up.
  6. Laughing out loud.
  7. How old does it make dudder brudder? Must be the alcohol that keeps him looking young. Happy Birthday Art.
  8. Betcha it was colder to.
  9. That's great! I think we need to get my son Ryan and Jack together for a play date on the water. The 35 hour round trip might be a bit of a challenge though.
  10. Wait??? What???? The series is tied???? Does the NHL know this??? Has betman (The Count) been told??? This was to have been arranged. Someone needs to make a phone call.
  11. That second dude get his cat noodlin'? Not a bad way to spend a day.
  12. Somethin' with banjos playing in the background???
  13. Hey to this canuck all you Virginians sound the same.
  14. Ya I know, I've met him.... wait which ones Art?
  15. Play with it a lot. That way you won't be trying to figure things out when you've got a fish in the boat. Learn how to set the flash. It will make even shots taken in bright sunlight look better. Buy a floating strap, the camera might be water proof, but it doesn't float, and you're more apt to be hanging it over the gunwales than a regular camera.
  16. I had to stop watching it because I was laughing so hard. BTW my brother is the tool.
  17. In the usual spots the usual baits usually work. Sorry I don't have any experience with that area, but your post is back at the top for now.
  18. THAT'S IT!!! I'm blamin' this cold snap on aniceguy and his new boat sitting in the driveway and all. It really make you shake your head sometimes doesn't it? Fishin' one weekend flat calm and 25 degrees... snow and wind the next. ... and it still surprises you sometimes.
  19. ... and you have to be able to recite the Leafs roster from the '67 cup wining team.
  20. Many tackle shops will have siwash hooks that can be added easily to lures. If you are in a bind you could add single hooks you have on hand already... and don't forget to pinch the barb right down.
  21. Rumor has it hell has frozen over as well due to the habs playoff run. Over 2 months of unseasonal balmy weather and now this in May. On the bright side, it might keep some of the fair weather anglers at home.
  22. Nipissing late '70's
  23. Nice. Crankbaits and spinners would fit in those real nice.
  24. Here is a good site that has been posted before: http://www.tackletour.com/ Good luck.
