We've got a 52" Samsung LCD in the den and 40" sets in 2 of the bedrooms. All 3 sets are 1080p, 120Hz and they all produce very nice, clear pictures. The den has 3 large windows and even with the bright sunlight the picture is still good. I wanted another set for the family room downstairs so I went out on Friday and bought another Samsung with the same features. I don't watch much TV myself and seldom, if ever watch sports, but these 4 Samsungs seem really good and offer everything I need. The nature shows in HD are incredible.

When I was in the city I never needed a snowblower but when I moved to the country last March, with 150' of driveway from the road to the garage, plus a circle drive across the front of the house, I started some research plus searched out alot of old posts here and decided on the Toro brand. I only used it once last spring so I can't give an opinion on it but I'm hoping it performs as well and for as many years as so many others have said about them. I'm very particular about all my gear and it'll receive all the maintanance that's recommended.

This mornings heavy rain turned to snow around 9:30 and by noon it was snowing so hard it blocked off the signal to my satellite dish. The snow ended around 3:00 after dumping 4" of heavy wet snow but I still had no TV signal, so I went outside to look at the dish and sure enuff, it was covered in a heavy layer of snow. No way did I feel like climbing up onto the roof with all that snow, but I figured maybe a well placed snowball may fix the problem. I went onto the back deck which is about 20' from the dish and started throwing snowballs at it and darned if one of them didn't hit the dish square on and all the snow slid off. I came into the house for a look and sure as shootin the TV was working perfectly. Luv it when a plan comes together

I'm just being curious here, but even if you do find somebody to haul the boat from Thunder Bay all the way to Toronto, what are you gonna do with it once it arrives if you don't have a trailer to put it on ??

Geoff, this accident was the lead story on CHEX TV in Peterboro last night. According to the report, there was ice on the road and when a car tried to stop for a STOP sign he skidded on the ice and went right thru into the intersection where he collided with the taxi carrying your family, then both cars went off the road and down a hill. It looked very nasty and sounds like your family members were the most seriously injured, but it's good to hear now that things are looking better for them.

That's a real shame what's happened to your family Geoff and I sure hope everything works out good for them.

Opened the curtains this morning to the 1st real snowfall of the season around here. We've been lucky so far as it seems there's nasty weather all around us, specially over in the snowbelt. Oh well, I put the snow tires on the truck yesterday and I've got a brand new snow blower just waiting to go, but I guess we need a bit more snow than what we got last night for that.

I've got a 12 volt generator for emergency back-up power here at the house and even though it'll spend the winter in a heated garage I want to hook up a battery maintainer just to be sure the battery is always fully charged if I ever need it. The only one I've really ever heard of is the Battery Tender and this one looks like it'll do the job. http://batterytender.com/lawn-garden/battery-tender-plus-12v-at-1-25a.html Do I go with the Battery Tender, or is there a better brand on the market ?? The boat is also in the garage and the 2 trolling batteries are hooked to an on-board charger so their not a problem, but I may buy a 2nd maintainer for the cranking battery too. Appreciate any thoughts.

Still real breezy around these parts with the odd snow flake thrown in and just to be on the safe side, I had the winter tires put on this morning. Been working outside for the last couple hours and the cool temps make doin chores alot easier than the hot steamy summer we just went thru, and with all the leaves gone it sure makes trimming trees that much simpler.

And G'day to you too Roy Been sitting here lookin out the window for about 3 hours just wating for the rest of the world to wake up. Sure is breezy out there !!!!

Dedicated winter tires are the only way to go, and for anyone new to driving in the snow, be sure to use them on all 4 wheels. Lotsa folks seem to think you can get away with only having them on the drive wheels. I'll be installing mine in the next couple weeks .

Being the ultimate expert I became over night Mike, I could have taught alot of folks around here some very valuable lessons.
