  1. Great video TJ, I love watching that kinda stuff
  2. Always nice when you find a dealership you can trust !!
  3. I can't believe how complicated this whole drivers license thing has become. I got mine waaaay back in 1962 and it was so simple. You got your learners permit, which was for 60 days, then as soon as you felt you were ready to take the test, you went in, took it, and they gave you your full license.....done. I haven't really payed much attention to the new graduated system so I honestly don't know if it makes for better drivers or not, but it just seems to me to be one more thing the government has messed up and made much more complicated than is necessary. ...drivers license...boaters licence...gun registry...and whatever else Or maybe I'm just getting old
  4. Kitchener above was made in Lauzon Quebec. They were only 200' long and bounced like a cork. As for Cherry, thanks for the suggestion but he's a bit too much for me and I'll have to pass
  5. My dad spent the war escorting the Merchant Navy convoys across the Atlantic Ocean trying to keep the German U-Boats away from them. Alot of times they were successful, but often there were just too many subs and they'd get through the escorts. Dad saw far too many ships torpedoed and men killed but said one terrible night that always stuck with him was when he watched three different ships explode around him within a few minutes killing all hands. The merchant navy suffered terrible losses but sadly never really received the recognition they deserved. Who knows, perhaps Jock & my dad crossed paths a time or two out there in the darkness trying to survive the nights and get through the wolf packs. This was Dad's corvette, HMCS Kitchener.
  6. The details have been explained several times, why can't you understand what you've been told ??
  7. Just keep plugging away, that 1st one is always the toughest to get. They come much easier once the 1st one is outta the way.
  8. If there was lots of room Terry, it wouldn't be a problem but it's just not like that. The water on the east side of the channel is quite shallow so all boats have to move tighter to the west side where the shore casters are. As Brian said, most of the guys are good and will hold off on their cast if a boat is trolling thru, but a few just like to cause problems. A bit of give and take goes a very long ways sometimes.
  9. You don't have much choice at that location Terry as it's right at the mouth of the Thames where it empties into LSC. Because of the narrow channel boats have to come somewhat close to the shore and rather than letting them through without hassling the boaters, a few of the shore anglers like to be jerks and toss their baits as close as possible.
  10. Really sorry to hear that John and thanks for letting us know of her passing Chris was a very nice lady and will be missed by many. Ironically, a couple of us were just talking about Chris & Roger this past weekend.
  11. Any time I've ever wanted to purchase a new piece of fishing or boating gear and needed some info on it, I've always come here to OFC to ask the board members and get an HONEST opinion. Last person I would ever ask for an opinion on a product is someone who's paid to promote the item, whether it's a top of the line guy like Izumi, or one of the reps at the Sportsman or Spring Fishing Shows who's shirt is covered in company logos. When a man is paid to promote a product, you'll only get the info the company wants him to give you....IMHO
  12. Good luck with the move Roger, guess you won't be spending much time chasing muskies around these parts anymore ??
  13. I shoulda filled up here yesterday morning for $1.09 George, I'm heading down your way in about 4 hours.
  14. Looks like Hurricane Sandy was a good excuse for the oil companies to hike the gas prices. Just when the cost of gas was coming down, prices in the Peterboro region jumped 11 cents yesterday afternoon. Everybody else see the same thing in your areas ??
  15. You didn't have to mention it by name Billy. Anyways, I'm done.
  16. Tough to get mad at a pooch as cute as him Bruce When my dog was a young pup and my wife and I would go out for awhile, he'd grab every shoe he could find and drag them up onto our bed. Even now when he knows he's going out for his daily walk, he grabs all the shoes and piles them beside his food bowl. Who knows what goes thru their minds ??
  17. Hey Billy, when you 1st posted this thread, everyone knew you were just leading up to one more of your very predictable, extremely boring and always tedious posts about your Tundra and as always, you came through with flying colours. :sleeping_02:
  18. Fantastic trip and excellent photographs to go along with it !! Thanks for posting the tale.
  19. Where would you find a new 250 Yammie for $18,000 ??
  20. This mornings news reported a lady was killed in Toronto last night when a sign blew down from a store and hit her as she was walking past it...very sad.
  21. Beautiful fish and congrats on the PB !!
  22. Fantastic trip, great pictures, and a whole whack of fish for the pair of you fellas Drew, congrats on that !! Andy and I have fished together several times and he's definitely a blast to share a boat with. A group of us fish LSC musky every fall and we're heading down this Friday and just hoping all this crazy wind and rain don't shut them down on us.
  23. Good to hear things are looking up for you Kelvin !!
  24. Great season and even better pictures !! Best one is the moose standing on the road. Worst one was that damned snake in the water coming right at me
  25. I had a 10 KW standby generator installed here at the house last spring for just such a scenario Art. Haven't had to use it yet but it's nice to know it's ready if and when the time ever arrives. Hope you guys do OK down there till the storm blows over.
