Thanks folks, I'm lookin forward to a few good years with this truck. For those of you who asked about the colour, it's called Kodiak Brown. It's very dark and does almost appear black in the picture, but looks really sharp, specially when the light hits it. The suggestion for the screen cover for the inter-cooler is a good idea and something I'll look into. As for the Eco Boost, I can only hope it's as good as what I've heard. I've talked to a few guys who have it and for the most part, their very happy. I read alot of the different websites and there's always talk about trucks and again, the vast majority of folks with the Eco Boost have positive things to say. I'm getting around 13-14/100k with the 5.4, so we'll see how the Eco stacks up to those numbers. Thanks for the comparison with your brothers truck Ron, that's the kinda stuff I've been hearing. Anyone who thinks they'll get good mileage with a truck, specially towing a heavier boat is only kidding themselves, but we should all realize that going in. I figure gas prices are what they are and there's nothing we can do about it. This truck was a huge amount of $$$$, so the few dollars I'll save on gas with the Eco boost have long since vanished anyways  Gerry, that's a good looking rig you've got there. I looked for you this past summer when we we're heading north, it woulda been good to hook up for awhile...maybe next year. Jim, looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the folks next weekend, it's gonna be a great trip. nofish4me, the fire engine red is actually called Red Pearl and is pretty nice And just so you know Brian, Diane and I had lunch at the A&W last week and after all these years, I still go for the Poppa Burger & a HUGE mug of root beer every time

I decided a couple years back to get myself a pick-up and bought a new 2010 F-150 Super Crew with the 5.4 engine and 310 HP. It's been a fantastic truck but I decided yesterday it was time to up-grade again and wanted to move up to an F-150 Lariat with a bunch of toys. I drove down to the dealer in Peterboro yesterday afternoon and darned if he didn't have exactly what I wanted sitting right there on his lot. We did a bit of haggling back & forth until we came to a price we were both happy with, signed some papers, and the deal was done. I've heard alot of good stuff about the new Eco Boost engine with 365 horsepower so that's what I got in it. I went with a dark brown truck with light brown leather bucket seats. 20" chrome wheels The seats are 10 way power and have both heat and cooling function. I also got the center consol shifter. It's got an 8" screen in the dash for GPS and also a back-up camera that shows in the same screen when the truck is in reverse. Very nice for hooking up the boat trailer. Power moon roof plus power sliding rear window, power adjustable pedals and telescoping steering wheel. And more bells & whistles than I can even remember right now, but the truck basically does everything but drive itself They still have to spray in the Line-x bed liner and install the tonneau cover plus a couple other things, but I'll be getting it Monday morning. I'm hauling the boat down to Lake St. Clair in about 8 or 9 days so that should be a good test for the new rig. Anyways, just thought some may be interested.

Yeah, I spose you guys did OK... -
Not a problem Roy, but I believe you were looking for Will

Don't ya just love when that happens...with any kind of fishing

My thoughts exactly Brian, and the reason we complied with his suggestion, but of course he WAS right and a jacket in a compartment really isn't a good idea if you need it in a hurry.....legal or not. Trouble is, we all get complacent over the years and I spose it's the old "it'll never happen to me" type of thing.
-
Irishfield and I were fishing the West Arm of Nipissing a couple years back when the OPP came by to check my boat. He couldn't see the jackets and said they had to be accessible so I opened the hatch under my feet on the front deck and showed them to him. He then told us that they prefer to at least see them hanging over the seat backs if we weren't going to wear them He never said being in the compartment was illegal, but "highly suggested" it would be a good idea to hang them on the seatbacks....which we did.

Same here Joe, don't know anything about it. My phone beeped recentely and I had no idea what it was until my daughter told me I had a text message. It's also got a camera that has never been used. When I was buying the phone I told the guy I wanted the most basic phone available, no texting, no camera, or anything else that would never be used and he told me that didn't exist and I had to get everything

I've got a cell phone but don't use it very often, but it's nice to be able to keep in touch with my wife & friends when I'm travelling around or away on a fish'n trip. I have mine connected to the GPS in the truck so it's totally hands free. Actually, I don't see any negatives to them personally, although some folks do seem to be obsessed with them and use them constantly. Never did get into the facebook or twitter thingies though.

Thanks for that MB, made for a great early morning read !! -
I also got an auto-inflator this year (Mustang # 3153) and was very impressed with it. I don't always wear it when someone else is in the boat with me, but when I'm alone it never comes off.

Didn't want to hijack Skud's post Mike, but I just noticed your sig at the bottom of your page. It sure says alot.

Great looking dog Mo, and he's definitely in a good home now.

I have no idea about the flies you need Chris, but congrats to the pair of you guys for a couple very impressive fish.

Whatever the cause, it's good to hear they got out safely.

Lotsa front lawn gobblers over this way too

Nova Scotia's great, but Ontario is best. Good to have you home again Clive.

Not at all Chris.

Your absolutely right Bill, it can get very nasty. My daughter wasn't hurt at all when she hit & killed a deer 2 years ago doing about 40 MPH, but her car received $7000 damage. It banged in the bumper, hood, both front fenders, cracked the windshield, dented the roof and then the trunk before landing on the road behind her. Nope, nothing funny about it at all.

If your reel counters are off that much Wayne, I'd say you've got some serious issues with them and perhaps they need fixing. I keep track of the accuracy of my Tekota 6oo reels and their consistantly only out about 7-8% of a measured distance. With 200' measured out on the ground, the reel counter shows around 212' and I'd consider that pretty good.
-
Might work if your running baits close to the boat Wayne, but who wants to count wraps all day when your running baits a couple 100' behind the boat, and specially if your using 2 rods and having them at different distances back ?? There's a good reason folks use line counters.

Thanks BB, definetely a good idea.
