  1. Cut,cut, cut, then raise prices.. just like the post office...
  2. A paving permit? Wow... probably because of the number of people who paved their front lawns for parking..
  3. They should have been out enforcing some rules at Mountsburg.. The creek was absolutely full of pike and there were up to 30 people "scooping" them out of the creek even though the season is closed.. Some volunteers from The Royal Botanical Gardens came along and removed over 1000 pike and relocated them to Cootes Paradise, with the blessing of the MNR... again, why no enforcement or charges??
  4. Up to 30 people at time illegally scooping fish from the creek? Where is the enforcement??
  5. Up to 30 people at time illegally scooping fish from the creek? Where is the enforcement??
  6. http://m.thespec.com/news-story/4498891-video-fish-rescue-dumps-1-000-pike-into-cootes/ I hope the link works...
  7. liked and shared!!
  8. I would check out the schwins that are on sale at canadian tire.. their regular prices are too high but when they are on sale they are a good value.. just make sure to check the reviews before buying anything.. my buddy is a serious rider and he even recommends them for the leisure bike people who aren't looking for something high end
  9. HAHA... unfortunately I'm gearing up for contract year at work.. fishfarmer and spiel know the devil I'm dealing with.... high fuel prices will keep me from fishing as much as I want.....waiting for the zombie killing bullets to go on sale...
  10. I filled all my spare cans and my truck at 1.16 on the reserve.. I heat the house with scavenged firewood and light it with LED lights.. you have to do what you have to do... next up is arming myself better for the zombie apocalypse....
  11. Crappie spots are a closely guarded secret.. you have to do the legwork and find out where they are.... Good luck
  12. Hamilton has built some very large underground overflow tanks that handle a lot of the excess overflow.. the incident rate is much lower than in the past. All cities should have to fix their sewage infrastructure before being able to expand urban boundaries. Our wastewater rates have gone up quite a bit but the waterways are getting dumped into less and less as a result..
  13. Home hardware currently has a Philips 11w A19 bulb which is the equivalent of a 60 watt bulb for $15. It's a soft white with over 800 lumens so its certainly bright enough. With the save on energy coupon it's $10 plus tax.... a good deal for a decent bulb..
  14. I like the Cree LED from home Depot.. with a coupon they're about $10 each.. we only use 7-8000 kw/h per year ...most of my lights are LED
  15. I've seen an armoured police truck here in Hamilton.. used for armed stand offs... gets the police closer to the scene without the danger of being shot
  16. Or you can go to the stelco fishing club awards night April 4th... fish farmer and spiel will be there... they have all the info if you need it... ( the beer is cheap)
  17. I have one but I don't use it for fear of losing it....
  18. There were some guys out on Lake erie this past weekend who drilled holes to the auger handles...
  19. With a stroke of a pen even a semi-auto shotgun could suffer the same fate...The rcmp was given the power to do this long ago. Imagine a city cop who doesn't have a clue how gun laws work(most don't) somehow finds out you have one...you're arrested, jailed and on your own when it comes to the courts... in all likelihood you will be found innocent but only after tens of thousands in court costs and probably a lost job and home....
  20. I picked up 2 last night, one for myself and one for a buddy. They look brand new to me...either way as long as they work it's all good.. What a great deal. There might have been a half dozen left..
  21. A transformer blew at work due possibly by a flood combined with a faulty safety switch from the city feed... total meltdown and a few power outages is east Hamilton... we are running on several very large generators with no real timeline yet for repairs....millions in damage.
  22. The only time mine looked like that is after fishing at the beacon...
  23. I just want to know how they got chewed up...lol
  24. I had my blades sharpened by clints in Binbrook but I haven't tried them yet. If you have been out to Jordan harbour fishing your blades can look like that due to the dirt and grit blowing off the highway ...
  25. There aren't as many crappies as before due to increased predation from the pike but the ones that are there seem to be getting bigger... Should be interesting at the derby on feb 9th
