Old Ironmaker replied to tb4me's topic in General Discussion
Thank you very much for the help. Much appreciated. -
I know it's not a good word to describe that but that's just stupid. We has about an inch Sunday morning here and were sitting on the deck basking in the sun in the afternoon, same Monday and Tuesday, nice here. Around +15C yesterday, finally. But I'm not counting my chickens yet.

I know more now concerning the options for TV signal vs. Ma Bell and Mr. Rogers. Early in my life I would be afraid to ask a question occasionally in case I was supposed to already know the answer to. I came up through the ranks and missed 4 years or so of engineering. Now I couldn't care less. I have a few question for you guys that only a very simple basic knowledge PC user would ask. Never too old to learn, right Big Cliff? I am somewhat confused as well and stopped counting the number of options for service at 6. Some simple questions for some of you if you will please. What is "android box fully rooted" to mean? "Buying it unlocked"? What is meant by download/upload? What is Bandwidth and why is it important? How is Bandwidth and live stream related? Live stream is live TV? Like a game on TV is broadcast live in real time? That's it for now, from Page 1, thanks. I have watched a few shows I missed on the internet through the network i.e. History Channel, get 1/2 way through and a tiny circle appears and the video dies, need to start from the beginning, it drives me nuts. If this can happen with these boxes forget it I'll pay my 70 bucks for Bell Expressive, which I hate paying but works even through some bad storms here on Lake Erie shoreline. I watch only HD channels, again it's worth the goof tax to Bell for HD if not much HD on these boxes. -
anyone here finance a yamaha outboard?
Old Ironmaker replied to Lunatic's topic in General Discussion
It's never a good idea to finance a toy, it's actually a very, very, bad idea. I don't know where you heard 20% interest rate. I'd imagine that rate for someone with terrible credit. Don't finance a toy, buy what you can afford or don't buy it. A vehicle to get you back and forth to work and serves a real purpose I can see but never something like an ATV unless you need it for business. If you don't have enough equity to get a line of credit where they don't care what you do with the money you can't afford this purchase. Edit, I just read your profile and your interests, Harleys, cars and drinking? You can't afford a new ATV. I sound like my old man! -
My kid brother has it. It was a regular occurrence when he was VP of sales for a big corporation, for him it was the stress. Now he only has a relapse every time he gets divorced. The wife needs to slow down just like 2b4me. Easier said then done I know.

I made myself a promise on January 1st....

Keep it up man. I played ball in my 20's at 205, 18 years ago I stopped going to the gym, got a desk job and ballooned to 240 of butter butt. It took me 10 years to get back to 205 and have kept it that way for 8., actually 195 now. My secret was a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes. When I think back at the crap I put in my body in the 90's I cringe. Don't wait until you need to take a needle 3 times a day and 8 pills for being overweight, no fun at all. The other secret is pushing the plate away. A trick I learned that is simple and really works, buy smaller dinner plates, fill the thing and eat it all. I still eat fried chicken wings and Uncle Burgers at A&W as a reward for life wins, once every 6 months max. A real killer is alcohol. I still have a drink once and a while but if anyone wants to lose a quick 10 pounds and keep it off reduce whatever alcohol you drink to a quarter of what you did. It's hard to change lifestyle but you will feel like a million dollars just losing 10 pounds. Imagine having to carry a 10 pound bag of dog crap with you everywhere you go. Think of the extra weight as dog crap, no one wants to be anywhere near it so lose it. Think of the most disgusting thing you can put in a bag to carry around over your shoulder and you will want to get rid of it. If anyone wants a few tips PM me, don't need to write a book here. I would love to hear from you Big Cliff, we are about the same age and I think I can get you going on the right path to lose a few chicken wings. -
OK Loonietunes, I'll recognize Albert and stop by for a cold one and meet you as well.

No one you know was born when this all happened leaf4. It was nostalgic for me, all through the movie, hey honey I had that car, I had the same suit, I remember that song Chic by LeChic, shut up please Mr. Travolta I'm trying to watch the movie. What I remember best is the young girls were falling out of their Disco dresses like Amy Adams', oh the good old days, where's my 8 track of Disco Inferno? Burn baby burn.

Have seen all 3. I really enjoyed American Hustle. Nothing to do with the dance, if you are old enough to remember the Abscam FBI dupe with artistic license, plenty of it.. Great performances all around. Dramatically shows the little difference between the psyche of the criminal and the cop, how little difference there is between the two personalities required to do the job well. Out of the Furnace is a close second, a little far fetched as the story line gets over the top, even for the psychotic mastermind Meth tweeker played by Woody Harrelson. Was busy pointing out the departments in a Steel mill, wife wanted to kill me. Dallas buyers club is a great movie that I will enjoy better the second time around, like pasta the next day. Mathew McConickee (sic) . Doesn't play himself for the first time and earns himself an Oscar. New found respect for him as an actor, he showed this new side in True Detective as well last year. As far as enjoyment it's a toss up with an American Hustle win in OT.

I have been following this thread with interest. I wanted to get closer to the date before committing. Now that I have a soft schedule I would like to invite myself if OK with you veterans. Loonietoon I've not met, nor Chris the kid, Albert and Dave I know, biggoodlookin have not yet met as well as pics. As a few of the "W's" from W5 haven't been answered that are fairly important I need to know the when and where. Is it the 4th at St Nicks, no wings, or is it what Loonietoons suggested quote: "What no one else.. same old same old well at least we know who wants to GTG lets set date for Friday April 11 say around 8 or Saturday April 12 or any other date" Or is it at the 477 Wing without wings or Buffalo Wings on Centennial Parkway, formerly Highway 20, sometimes still is. And when is it, the 4th, 8th, 12th or as Loonietoon suggested " any other date". Man you guys are getting me confused which has been really easy as the big six O approaches so stealthily. First time ever using caps WHICH IS IT AND WHEN IS IT OR IS IT ALL THOSE DATES???? Whew, that felt nice. Seriously guys when and where? I'll be at The Stelco Club meeting on the 4th anyway, that works for me if I even get a vote. Plus they have 2 comedians that night. See PM Dave if I ever finish this. Let me know guys, please. I can't eat wings so it doesn't much matter to me. Always room for Pizza as long as it's Roma Bakery's, inside joke.

I have mine bundled with my home. $200.00 per year for loss of what I paid. Based on what I read I think I need to delve into it with more detail.

Given some recent posts about bad drivers....
Old Ironmaker replied to Gerritt's topic in General Discussion
They are equally both idiots and both guilty of careless driving. Her a bit more than him, at least he was watching the road for a bit, her not. And then laugh when he lost control. How mature. Both rednecks. And she got all dolled up for the interview by putting on her best t shirt. She didn't want her name known, just her face I guess. Lost sleep that night, I smell sueage Judge Judy. I don't know if anyone has driven 41 on the west coast of FLA, also known as Tamiami Trail. I have seen gunfire on that stretch between a truck and a car in Charlotte County. Lucky she didn't get a bullet instead of a finger. -
Joey, You are our Sunshine Girl. Right about beautiful women generally having low self esteem. No one is usually brave enough to approach a gorgeous woman and they think it's because they really aren't that pretty. A famous actress told me that years ago. That's how this mug ended up with a beautiful wife. Most importantly beautiful below all that smooth skin. As for the woman in question, she gives big head, I mean has a big head. Couldn't help it, sorry.

Apluma, Sir where can I get gas for $4.00 a gallons here? I'm willing to pay $5.00 USD. $1.34 a Lt yesterday. Fill every container you have before showing your passport this year. You're bang on, towing down the road in a fairly strait line is one thing, stopping for an emergency on baby brakes on a mini van is a totally different scenario.
-
Man both bad for transitions in my experience. Rizzo you know what your towing capacity for the Caravan is, you need to determine the weight of the boat and all. Tow it to a scrap yard, unhook it and get it weighed. Guessing is over. A important thing to consider is tongue weight. If the ball and receiver isn't properly aligned it throws everything off and numbers get tossed out the window. My next door neighbour had the improper drop on his hitch, once that was corrected he said he can't even tell his boat and trailer is behind him on one of those imitation 2 WD Ford SUV's.

You don't know how blessed you are to be able to share what you love with the old guy and he sure looks like he loves it too. Dad is still with us at 87 but he never enjoyed the outdoors. I took him when I was 30, after an hour or so you could tell he wanted to go home but toughed it out for 2 days. I asked him years later why he didn't take us out to fish, hunt, camp etc. like my cousins, It p'd me off he never would take us fishing. He told me about sleeping in the mountains in the winter without shelter hiding from the Germans when he was a teen. They were taking kids as young as 13 or they would kill your entire family in the village. Don't I feel like an ass now. Some nice bass there Bill, good on you both.

I'm still working on pic #2 Joey. This will be attempt #? Lost track.

When I hear someone say they are upset because they can only keep 6 Wally Burgers instead of 2 I tell them they should go shopping not fishing. Someone said earlier that people from southern Ontario don't really understand the First Nations problem. We are in southern Ontario, about as south as one can get in Ontario, on the shoreline of Erie. Ever heard of Caledonia? My wife works there, 25 minutes from us. If that's not a problem I don't know what is. I haven't heard about any entire housing surveys up north being invaded by a band of criminals and taking over the entire 100 acre housing survey including around a dozen new homes by violence and staking claim to it. Beating an elderly couple and a TV news cameraman, stealing the camera and making off while OPP crime fighters watched. I'll stop as I'm getting a tad irate. The Native flag still flies there, on the 1 house that is left, they tore all the others down to the ground, while the OPP watched again. There I'm going to stop as now I'm getting mad.

Where to buy Walleye harness components
Old Ironmaker replied to manjo39's topic in General Discussion
We get all our stuff from Fishing World in east Hamilton. We then trade colors after getting back. Michaels for beads. Don't forget a treble stinger. How do you guys store them? I have seen some neat and cheap methods. Am going to try a length of foam pipe wrap and tuck the hooks under the slit. -

I must be overthinking it again. I never even considered the lower end gear oil and water. Thanks all.

Lake St. Clair accomodations recommendations

I will take you up on it Outlaw. Johnny D -
Rich, Did I read somewhere smelts were illegal to fish with? Maybe just whole smelt. Even dead were illegal. Something about dormant eggs in frozen smelt. They were killers for Pike in the Longlac area. Hook the frozen smelt on a large single hook and toss it to the weed edge or a weed less harness with trebles. Crappie in the spring in upstate NY we use a micro tube bare or just a tiny piece of meat like a worm. I call them Clown color, they are all colors of the rainbow., some have stripes, some dots and some half and half. Some days just the plain Janes like smoke, pumpkin seed or solid white or black. Overcast solid plain Janes, opposite on bright days. They are so inexpensive in NY I've never bought them here. Also great through the ice for perch.
