Over 15 posts to splice a wire. Good thing he didn't have to replace a tail light.......
-
And if the wires are too short, cut them again.....

After rereading you original post it does make some sense having one unit as a GPS and the other unit as the Sonar screen giving you a full picture while saving $$$$ as well. AND if one unit does go down you can send it in for repairs and do without it in the mean time. I have a LMS 520 unit at the console but would now like to add another 520 or 522 at the bow while using the trolling motor. Guess what, they are no longer made and only USED units are available. I don't like buying other people's problems. Cabela's mail flier had a 522 unit on sale for only $449 but they have to be purchased AT the store. No internet sales on that deal. We don't have a Cabela's near us....

IF you do purchase a boat at that dealership because that's the boat you really want request a different salesmen so he doesn't pocket any profit from you. BTW...... I used to think LUND was by far the best ALUMINUM fishing boat out there but now since they were bought out by Brunswick I no longer believe that. They seem cheaper built now trying to maximize their profit..... (i don't own a Lund). Bob

VERY NICELY done. Definitely a PROFESSIONAL JOB................ but I see NO need to have both units next to each other. Most (ALL) networked Lowrance units are so you can one at the console and one up front when you're using the trolling motor. But I could see one on the transom for downrigging on the Great Lakes. I use to have my Lowrance paper graph mounted there years ago. You could of just gotten a 200 mhz transducer for the LMS 525 unit without the expense of purchasing a LMS 520 unit and piped it in with a transducer switch giving you your 12/36 degree cone angle by using the dual transducer that came with the LMS 525 unit and a 20 degree cone angle when using the 200 mhz optional transducer. You would of also saved on not having to network them together then. SO, I guess my question is why the dual set up with one unit being mounted right next to the other unit ? ? ?

I must be on Cabela's SUPER "A" list as I get 2 hard cover catalogs each year and a week doesn't go by that I don't receive a paper back catalog from them. Some weeks 3 or more catalogs show up in my mail. I have and really use my Cabela's Credit Card for almost all my purchases building up points for free stuff. The few times I have called them up because of a problem with a product I have purchased from them they bend over backwards to satisfy my needs. The last one was on their onboard charger that was 2.5 years out of warranty that stopped working. They replaced it FREE of charge for me. They definitely have a loyal customer because of that kind of customer service I receive. It might be because of using their credit card so much.

What BillM said but when you do splice make sure you do it in a inline way not so the splice is sticking out like a "L" shape in the middle of the wire. Strip off about 1" of insulation on each wire and then line the wires next to each other and TWIST them together real good and tight. As Bill said a little soldering would be best but if you twist them real good together and then heat shrink over the connection, THEN wrap real nice with electrical tape, then wrap again with electrical tape but this time with the other wires that there you will never have a problem. Now get to work because it's fishing time, not fixing time of the year........

Also with a 4X4 that sits up much higher you can see right over the boat when towing it. I really like that part as well as having all the power to go but also to STOP like the boat isn't there..... Bob
-
Here's your answer to your towing needs. This baby pulls my boat up, down and all around with out even knowing it's back there. Also GREAT for deer hunting......

Now you don't it. The jinx is on and prices will soon rise.......

And is it true Canadians are afraid of the dark......

The balance solution is probably worse than the problem. You are getting a LOT of fish and or bites because you are using light leaders to begin with. Your lure is VERY inexpensive so I wouldn't change anything. I always use light line 4 - 6# line and if once in a while I lose a jig to a bite off it's just part of fishing, and don't forget it's now YOUR fish story to tell. Don't go heavier, you will probably reduce you total catch by up to 50%. Bob

But how does the house smell. YOU might not notice the house fire smell but others definitely do...........
-
I have a friend that would do this in his house using liquid smoke. When I went over there (days later) I could of swore he had a house fire because of the way it smelled when I walked in. Needless to say he was single........ However, to get real smoke taste you really need to actually smoke the fish........... Bob

My stocks went DOWN the tubes and so did much of my retirement money.......... No one is bailing me out because I saved and only spent within my mines. I have lost money in the stock market before and again no bailout......... If they can swim OK, if not let them go........BTW are these INTEREST FREE loans that they are suppose to pay back ? ? ? or just the principle being payed back ? ? ? ALL I can say in Japanese is....................... TOYOTA

I would say tipping a guide is like tipping anyone else. 20% would seem fair if he lived up to your expectations. I have never used a guide but from what I have seen at some lodges that have guides they seem to tailor there approach to the clients they serve. When they get a bunch of folks that really don't fish much they REALLY take that into consideration. At a very nice lodge I have used several times I walked down to my boat after breakfast was served and the guides were sitting a bench up against the boat house. I had been getting into a lot of walleyes the past two days in a bay less than 2 miles away but I noticed that the guides had blown right by my area going up river. When I asked them where they had been going the told me a area that was at least 10 miles away (they only had 20 hp) so it was a ride for them. I said I was getting a lot of action in Deer Bay so why were they going so far. The oldest guide (he still works there) said, "It's like in the army, when your marching your not fighting". This meant a 1 hour boat up and another 1 hour boat ride back was better than untangling lines, etc..... for the non fishermen he was guiding. They caught enough fish for group even though they could of done a LOT better closer to the lodge. BTW all the talk between the guides while I was getting things ready in the boat was how they were looking forward to golfing in the afternoon.

It sounds like you guys have met some very reasonable CO's. It nice to hear they are willing to work the sportsmen. Acting like a prick only gets worse results. Canada must have some good training for these gentlemen.

Petition Against The Gun Registry

So I guess this statement would also be correct. Donuts don't make you fat, Tim Horton's does. All Tim Horton's should be closed down because they are detrimental to your health............ -
Petition Against The Gun Registry
Billy Bob replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
Could someone here explain what it cost to own a firearm in Canada. I have heard so many stories I don't know what to believe. Someone told me it cost $250 for each firearm. That sounds way too much. So what is the cost for a firearm license and firearm registered. We are always getting hammered here in the US to take away our 2nd Amendment but so far all attempts have failed. But then again they keep passing more an more laws to limit the use of firearms here. But here's what really gets me. They have PLENTY of firearm laws on the books when when they finally arrest someone violating the law they don't prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Just look at our Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch. He got caught in Kalifornia with possession of a illegal firearm. They lowered the FELONY office to a misdemeanor and basically let him off. The same thing probably will haven to Plaxico Burress from the NY Giants. He shot himself (FUNNY) in the leg at a NY City Night Club where they have a MANDATORY 3 year jail term for violating the law. The gun was once registered in Florida but that expired. He WOULD NOT get a permit in the NY City area. Even my pistol permit in invalid in NY City. He is still walking around among us while his lawyers get the charges reduced. But anyways please answer my above questions on cost. Thanks, Bob -
On the other side of the spectrum I have stayed several times at the Sand Beach Lodge in the middle French. Fishing was good each time and the lodge is more than you expect. They definitely run a 4 star operation. It's a American Plan only but the food is to die for. The boats and motors are TOP notch as they purchase new outboards each year replacing last years fleet. They even have Indian guides but I never used one. Here's their site in case you are interested. http://www.sandbeachlodge.com/ BTW the northern I am holding in my aviator was caught there last June.

NY fishing license to increase next year to $70
Billy Bob replied to bassfighter's topic in General Discussion
You all are still not getting it. As I have said before this money WILL be wasted on NON FISHING, mostly in NY City as always. Our taxes are sky rocketing this year, more than any other year and take a look here at what we get in return. This governor is the WORST we have ever had and now has a 60% NEGATIVE rating by voters. http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/635661.html -
NY fishing license to increase next year to $70
Billy Bob replied to bassfighter's topic in General Discussion
Most of the money will be wasted on NY City spending. I am surprised no here mentioned how we non Ontario residents have to get a outdoor card this year. This is another way of just picking our pockets also. PLEASE tell me what the reason behind that scam is other than picking my and your pockets. -
GO Sabres and take the Bills with you..........

Do you have high band internet service. If so you can use Magic Jack.... it cost $39.99 the first year to buy it and then only $19.99 a year after that. Hard to beat the deal even with a Ugly Stick. This is a must check out link for anyone tired of paying high phone bills. http://www.magicjack.com/1/customercare.asp

I have been out in my boat three times already crappie fishing. All three days were fantastic days weather wise and two were FANTASTIC fishing wise. The first day we couldn't find any active crappie but caught a LOT of perch. The last two we loaded up on the crappies. Good Friday will be enjoyed with the best eating fish out.......
