Yes, our DEC has been doing this on a limited basis with the Canada goose population here.

Just like I posted yesterday about the do gooders in Buffalo they have rose up once AGAIN to kill moving forward with something, anything.........This time in Canada. http://www.buffalonews.com/home/story/696343.html

Let me guess, the force let you go because you pistol whipped a little old lady for changing lanes without signaling.

Tires that are that much out of balance are 2nd's and should be returned for better tires. I hope you got some kind of super deal on these tires if not take them back..... Bob

What you need to do is get one of MANY good do'ers that reside here in WNY and rally the troops to prevent any progress on that island.....they have been VERY successful here doing just that. Walmart has been there biggest target but just about anything that is ever proposed here has some kind of group or another rise up and defeat the building of ANY job bearing progress in WNY........why you can't even cut down your own tree here now a days because of these people.......without saying we have no jobs here any longer, everything basically has pulled out of WNY..... But anyways I am sure in today's economy it will be many years before the island is fully developed if ever.... living on a island can be a pain in the ass once you realize you need to boat over each and every time you want to do something on or off the island. That means is BAD weather as well as in good weather....I turned down a sweet deal on a private cottage on a island in Stoney Lake once I realized it was on a island..... been there, done that. Bob

Years ago several charter captains on the east end of Lake Ontario (NY) took it upon themselves to take out MANY cormorants with their shotguns on some island. Rumor has it they killed about 500 birds but the word leaked out about the whole deal and some paid hefty fines while others even spent time in jail... I would of chipped in to bail them out ...

The tree hugging NUT cases out there will protect these OVER populated birds to no end. Then when the fish population crashes they will then defend the fish to no end prohibiting fishing for the benefit of the the fish...... Now you can see what our world has become :<(

I rented from 3 Bouys Houseboats around 1987.......they had great NEW 40' houseboats that year. One of the best vacations I ever spent with my family and in-laws...... As far as the no dock restriction now imposed on that property but rather a marina where you must dock your boat.... that sounds like something the land developer got passed to further enrich his pockets......otherwise it really makes no sense to me.
-
Sounds like to me you're some kind of bigot...........LOL........leave us old folks alone, we have enough to worry about without you young whippersnappers picking on us senile citizens...... Boat launches are for launching boats but they are also for some of the most entertaining moments in history..

Wierd Vibration on my F-150 (NF)

If your not going to address the problem yourself, why even care what us Yahoo's think since your taking it to a qualified mechanic anyways........ :<) -
Wierd Vibration on my F-150 (NF)

It's a FORD you should be glad it got you home.......SORRY I couldn't resist. Sometimes a wheel will go out of balance in the winter months because of ice build up on one area of the wheel but it's not that in June....did you travel any muddy roads to cause this ? ? ? After that has be eliminated from the equation I would then look at a brake hanging up somewhere...that means it could be a front caliber or rear is your truck has disc brakes all the way around.... The easiest way to diagnosist this is when it's happing by pulling over and checking each wheel for excessive heat build up. If so you just found your problem. The burning smell tells me you have a bad brake somewhere on you truck.....jack up each wheel and see if that wheel spins freely, if not you have a problem right there.... Bob -
I have never used bearing buddies because they are not reliable....... instead I set up my boat on my trailer so I never put the hubs in the water while launching or retrieving my boat. In 24 years I have changed my bearing only twice (2 years ago was the last time). Word of caution....when you get a new trailer check the bearing at once....I found out mine didn't have hardly any grease in them and HAD to replace them on year 2. Keep the WATER out and they will last a VERY LONG time..... BTW I trailer my boat a LOT and never had any problems, even going 20 years with the same bearings that were never repacked until I CHANGED them 2 years ago. They could of went even longer but I thought I got my monies worth out of them so rather than clean them I just replaced them with new bearings and races. Bob

An international slap in the face
Billy Bob replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
It's a shame that ALL countries involved in D-Day don't remember this special day better. This should be a world wide holiday for everyone involved. Canadian soldiers had a tremendous impact including many of them giving the ultimate sacrifice. God Bless all of these BRAVE men and their families. Thank You, Bob -
I thought my boat couldn't get any more ghetto

You might just catch more fish in this tub just for the fact you know you can't run from spot to spot but rather "fish" the area you're in.. Good Luck Fishing, Bob -

Portable fish finder w/ suction cup transducer
Billy Bob replied to rock34's topic in General Discussion
If you can do it the day before putting it in the water, use some silicone chalking on the suction cup. Later it will just peel right off but it sticks like hell or WEEKS or more.............. cost is about $5 -
I run the knife all the way down while skinning except just a little bit so it's still attached and freeze them for the ride home. Of course you have to wrap them individually. When I thaw them for frying all I need to do is a little pull on the skin and it's off and ready for the egg wash......

I have found using two hands while holding the fish horizontal and carefully lowering into the hot oil will reduce splatter........

Oil injection pumps of Johnsons - question
Billy Bob replied to siwash's topic in General Discussion
As I have said several times on this board I am a BIG fan of the VRO system...........20+ without ANY problems what so ever Now let me get this straight.......you are interested in a late 80's Evinrude outboard that has been running for over 20 years with it's VRO system and now you're concerned about it's reliability ? ! ? ! ? These motors do have fail safes built into them.....one buzzer for low oil (in the remote reservoir) one buzzer for NO oil and another buzzer for overheating...... Good Luck with you purchase of whatever you decide on and I hope you catch lots of fish. Just leave some for me...:<) Bob -
Oil injection pumps of Johnsons - question
Billy Bob replied to siwash's topic in General Discussion
I have heard this several times "here' but I have a 50hp Johnson that has a VRO system and would not be without it. I LOVE this VARIABLE RATIO OIL system and have had not a problem with it since new (1985). The motors that I have had heard that had problems with are the 3 cylinder motors......mine is only 2 cylinders being only a 50 hp motor.... -
CV joints......but from here just a guess.

I have worked with heavy equipment all my life and all I can say is WOW, what the heck and are they NUTS....... Maybe things are different in Canada compared to the USA but that price ($28,000) seems REAL steep to me. First advice I would give you is...... is this a career that you can do at the age of 50 ! ! ! because if not then move on to something else.....I speak from experience...... I hired out on the railroad at 19 years old as a "carmen". That means you inspected, repaired and or did derailments in one way or another........However, all our training came on the work site....... before I took a early retirement (had to) I was qualified to drive a tractor trailer, (semi) operate a 90 ton over the road crane, drive the same crane to the derailment, operate a 250 ton (on the rail) crane (one of the biggest mobile cranes ever) and operate a Locomotive when need be and then finally become Safety Director to our Division........... bottom line here is, can't your NOW employer train you while now on the job..... Bob

Over the years (40+) I have not found that with Crappie. This is my favorite eating fish and have frozen MANY and never had a problem with them....... it could be improper care before you even cleaned them. Crappie are one of the most delicate fish out there and I keep them alive in my live well right up until they are filleted. Then they either head for the frying pan or a quick trip into the deep freezer.
