  1. Here's a warmer version of what you saw. Looks like fun!!!
  2. Here's an email that was sent to me from my brother in the Navy. " 2,000 HP Outboard Inflatable .... Here's the latest drug runner toy from B.C .... This thing belted across the English Bay channel 3 times per week, and was just a blur on the Radar of the British Columbia Coast Guard. They were so astonished by the speed of the unknown craft that they brought in a special high- speed Helicopter to chase it. Drugs were found on board. Of course, you'd have to be on drugs to push the throttle down on this thing ... "
  3. All I'll say is ('cause I don't type very fast), check out this place. Stanton Air
  4. I've tickets that I won't use on the side, for that very reason. There are places I won't even go, because I could be liable for just being there. One of those is a nieghbour's place, I've told them the situation, now they come to my place. I also carry a Personal Liability insurance, bonus is it covers anything I'm in care and control of (rental boats, etc.).
  5. I've heard good reports, in the past about Stanton Air.
  6. Oxygen or no Oxygen isn't the problem, it's the CO (not Conservation Officer) that's deadly. Would you fire up the BBQ to heat the house if the power went out? I'll assume you wouldn't, but you might turn on a gas fired stove or oven? Same thing! Just crack open the flap on the shelter and beware of the signs of CO poisining. Spring fishing trips are around the corner, just remember the old Serval fridges (actually mandated out of service) are gas fired, open some windows.

  8. No hole in the gas cap, to prevent moisture (snow) getting into gas. It is done through the gasket in the cap.
  9. My first thought was "What no football ad.'s" I'll go check it out now.
  10. Too lazy to look it up, but if I recall, -40°F vapour pressure is 0 psig(or damned close).
  11. Had two cops show up once, because I refused to pay the additional cost for the rotten cottage cheese that was not eaten. They gladly watched the hockey game, while I finished my two beer. Then the three of us left the place together. I don't know about them, but I've never been back to that place.
  12. I can really appreciate your new ride. Would love to have had it back when...... I finally got over my affair when I was almost 10 miles (yes, miles) from home and hit something in the ditch. I pulled out on to the road and "High Tailed It" for home. This was after dark and the steady stream of sparks from the skis, was impressive. I parked the sled and sold it. There wasn't the trail network there is now or maybe I would still be into it. Nice ride and have fun.
  13. here's site I came across years ago, full of info for what's where & when on the big lakes. http://www.boatnerd.com/ I can understand how a snowmobile crosses water, but this is different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TRCroy3DKs&feature=related
  14. I got the wrong impression from the title of this thread. Hahaha The only feller I know with an oil filled radiator, does so to prevent antifreeze from getting into the oil on his old diesel tractor. Hahaha
  15. It's a long story, but my beagle that was bought as a pet, had such a strong desire to hunt rabbits (and the ever present deer) that I thought I should let the dog do what it was bred to do and that led into joining a club and training.
  16. Hahaha.... Some people golf..... I chose this as sort of a hobby, since I like the darned dogs. http://www.ontariobeagles.com/
  17. I don't hunt, but fall into the following category; "You must have an authorization or licence issued from the local ministry office to conduct dog training and field trials on game mammals and game birds during the closed season, or an appropriate hunting licence during the open season."
  18. Hunting deer with dogs is allowed, unless specified otherwise. I'm surprised all the hunters here didn't mention that. I don't know what area that was being hunted, maybe dogs weren't allowed. I just thought I'd put my 2¢ worth in the fray. "Dogs You must licence all dogs to be used to hunt deer, moose or black bear. The licence holder or the person who has control of the dogs must carry all dog licences and produce the licences at the request of an officer. There is no limit on the number of dogs that may be licensed and used. Dogs may not run at large in an area inhabited by deer, moose, elk or black bear during the closed season. You must have an authorization or licence issued from the local ministry office to conduct dog training and field trials on game mammals and game birds during the closed season, or an appropriate hunting licence during the open season. NOTE: There is no authorization or licence that allows the chasing of wolf or coyote in the townships around Algonquin Park where there is a year-round closed season for those species. In order to hunt raccoon at night, you must be accompanied by a dog licensed for raccoon hunting and you must have a resident’s tag to hunt raccoon at night. Only one dog licence is required while hunting raccoon at night regardless of the number of dogs used. For a dog coming into Canada from the United States, you must have a certificate, signed by a veterinarian licensed in Canada or in the United States, stating that the dog has been vaccinated against rabies during the preceding 36 months. The certificate must have a reasonably complete and legible description of the dog and the date of the vaccination. For more information, check with Canada Customs."
  19. .........and then get a Smart Car......... "I was told that costs are going up due to infrastructure requiring enhancement." BINGO!!!!!! When I can drive a car for 30 minutes without headlights on, there's no shortage of hydro. The only shortage is $$$$ !!! Hydro here is cheap. Having said that, one of the hardest things to change about a person, is their lifestyle. If you're living on the edge, hydro bills may become an issue, but it's still cheap, in comparison.
  20. ....and you'd just be a mere 30 minute drive from the "Creator" of this fine place.
  21. Yes, but I'm more into the "going fishing". You could be in the middle of nowhere within 30 minutes or less, from downtown. Endless locations for good fishing in any direction.
  22. Sudbury was a great place (years since I've lived there) to be from. Outdoor activities are at most 20 minutes away. I lived there for six years. I would move back in a minute if I could do what I do on a daily basis for work. Winter can be down right horrible if you're not into outdoor winter activities.
  23. .
  24. Seeing that you bought a sailboat, you'll use the motor quite often, more than you may think. Electric start will be nice, but not required.
  25. Electric Baseboard heating, at least is 100% efficent. You just have to weigh the cost of electricity vs another source of heating.
