  1. Donot take what I'm about to say, wrong, but I have to question some peoples intelligence. It will not work if you are on a well and have no power. it will work if you are on a Municipal water sytem and have no power. A nieghbour of mine (I'm not friendly with)had one of those systems. Last winter for about 3 months there was a ton of water (ice) flowing out of the side of his house and down the street. His system malfunctioned and he recieved a $3500 water bill. No break for him, as the meter turned out to be correct. Looked good on him. I know when there is water running in my house and I would seek the source.
  2. I've spent days fishing out of Tobermory and not caught anything (not unusual for me). Checkout all the perch lurking under the boats at the harbour. We'd catch enough for a meal, in a matter of minutes. Depending on where your campsite is and what you're packing with you, it could take up to 45 minutes to hike out to the Grottos, but well worth the hike.
  3. Good chat on the phone. Could have spent hours chattin' about history. Make sure you let us know how your trip went. I've sent you another PM.
  4. Wayne, congratulations.I've been there and this sound came to mind.Thumping Chest
  5. If you check out this webpage, we stayed there stating at 2002, for 2 trips a year. https://sites.google.com/site/fishingwithlenbeerschoten/photo-gallery/the-2000s/2002-photos We, as a group, no longer frequent the place, only because we do like change every now and then. I would say, you definetly would enjoy the place, fish or no fish. Working on getting back there, but I'm biased.
  6. I'm sending a PM. Send me your phone # and I'll give you a call.
  7. I was afraid you'd say that. I couldn't find it.
  8. Thanks Roy. That was quick. I'll start with the one in Clinton Where'd you copy and paste that info from? Hahaha
  9. Looking to find the local MNR phone # for London Area. I want to get a permit to train dogs. Basically, run them on game out of season. I'm covered at the club, but would like to do it elsewhere.
  10. Isn't all this, just simple metallurgy. Steel bends, aluminium breaks. Heating a metal causes it to get brittle. No?
  11. ....or you could always say: "Dang honey, that was a surprise!" What do you think we should do now?" Hahaha It always makes someone feel better, when they are included in the process.
  12. ....and less than 20 yrs from now you'll be sittin' on the deck somewhere havin' a beer. Option #2: Fix the damned car, it'll be cheaper than a Divorce. Always remember, you Married her for some damned reason.
  13. Change suppliers, and then see how fast TSSA shows up. What a surprise! Guess who called them. Original supplier left the old tanks behind (no use for them). New tanks now and all is good, both gas and diesel. Hahaha Oh ya, I told them to give the bill to whom ever called them. Never saw another bill, but saw them a few times after.
  14. All I seen was, a $375 bill for a preliminary visit from TSSA (pay attention to the word preliminary). Hahaha Oh ya and the turkeys.
  15. I knows a feller that was willing to spend $4000 (correct # of 0s) on a new BBQ. He asked to be shown the best BBQ they had, they passed all the big $ BBQ's and stopped at the "Green Egg". $875, later he was out the door, best BBQ I've ever seen. It's used almost daily. Check it out. http://www.biggreenegg.ca/
  16. How is having a License going to save your life? (I'm serious about this) Is it actually illeagal to own and listen to a VHF radio? I always thought it was illeagal to broadcast with no license, If I was sinking, fine me, it would be worth the fine to have someone hear me. On the other hand, someone might be glad I heard their "Licensed" broadcast. I won't get a license, period.
  17. I won't tell you which one I am, but they chose not video me at one point. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_g4Qq5vYlg
  18. Mover, send me a PM with your phone # and I'll give you a call.
  19. I have stayed there and over time, have had dealings with them. If it's a fishing group, no problem, just remember that it's not downtown Anywhere. I could ramble on, but hate pecking away on keyboard. Due to water levels and boat traffic, Dave was picking up in Britt. HeadHunter has posted good info.
  20. Check out Balsam Lake PP, been there a couple of times camping and in their cottage. The cottage is off by itself and get a campsite close to the water. Oh ya, fishing was great from what I saw and from talking to, more hard core than me, fishermen. I caught fish, but no keepers, unlike everyone else that was there.
  21. You're in for a rough ride. Maybe reading the fine (not so fine) print isn't your deal. You are probably the type that would complain about trying to get out of your cell phone contract. This just makes me chuckle and I couldn't resist responding. (it gets my post count higher)
  22. Well, just remember, you were happy at the time of signing the contract. You just probably hadn't considered all the down sides, prior to signing. I know I'm different than most people, but I would not ever sign a 3 year contract to get a 'Free' phone. Nothing is ever 'Free'. I buy my phones outright and have a monthly contract. As far as Bell goes (that's who I'm with) my phone is usually the one everyone uses when away in the bush or out fishing, because it gets service. I, at this point would not ever change, when I pick up my phone I want it to work. I was talking to someone in Ottawa yesterday on my cellphone and he was using his (Rogers), his dropped the call twice. He commented on the "most reliable" thingy.
  23. Not sure what your background is, or how you can handle a wrench, but if you want an apprenticeship, you'll have to pay your 'Dues' (I don't mean Union). You can't sit at home waiting for someone to call you, depending on your location and who you want to work for, you may have to pack up and go after the work. Having said that, I was eating a quick bite today, with a feller that flew in from Houston to commission a VFD starter for a chiller I'm commissioning. There was a fella (with same ticket as me) laying on cardboard on the floor fixing a display cooler. Glad I did what I did and went where I had to go to get in. It didn't take long and I was back working where I wanted to be. The trade's been good to me, but I did have to my dues.
  24. One thing I've discovered is, records of offenses after certain amounts of time can disappear, but (there's always a 'But') it must be initiated by the one with the offense. It will never just automattically disappear.
  25. Here was my little restoration project for this winter. It was 50 years old. I was given this for Christmas 1959. Here's a link to a thread where I obtained the missing info for the Briscoe's decal. http://www.urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?t=10545 It was painted a 1959 Massey Harris red.
