Very interesting. Watching the video I was hoping the super predator would show itself boat side and eat the shark. You would think the shark would have the speed to elude most whales. Is a giant squid capable of eating a shark that size?

Great pictures Lew. Its impressive what your Dad and Uncle and they're generation did for us. My father enlisted at 17 and was a flight instructor for the navy. My neighbour as a kid, drove a landing craft on d day , was shot on his first drop off but continued to do several more trips on d day.

I would nt worry about the transome. Get the boat/motor/trailer checked out by a mechanic and do a water test to make sure everything works. Check other sites to confirm that sale price is good.

They don't care as long as the splits Good advice from Bowslayer, they don't care they just want they're cut. What state are u buying in? I Had trouble getting an imported trailer plated here because Ohio does not issue trailer ownerships. Find out from your local service ontario what paper work they need/expect to get trailer plated in Ontario.

Good to hear Peter. Its always frustrating when you start second guessing your installation and it turns out to be the unit itself.

Epoxy marine plywood on aluminum boat or not?
Tim Mills replied to Fish4Eyes's topic in General Discussion
If your going to spend the money on marine ply you might as well seal it. I used System 3- S1 Epoxy Sealer. I bought it at Noah's in TO but its alot cheaper The Masons Store/Chandlery at the Port Credit Marina- good guys there who know the products as well. Good selection of Stainless hardware and Electrical supplies too. I have also read about the use of SPAR Urethane as an alternative to EPOXY as well,. I think it was on the Wooden Boat site. Just an FYI that the Canadian version of some of these marine products are more enviormentally friendly than the ones in the USA and may not hold up as well. -
Nice work, thanks for posting

Excellent report. I've never fished for cats it looks like fun.

Last fall I lost my first and favourite bait caster, a curado bantam. It was not correctly in the rod holder. After landing a fish on the other rod I looked back and it was gone. Last summer after landing my PB Largemouth I left a nice net on top of a slop mat. It was pitch black when I realized it.I went back the next night and it was gone.

Buddy at work bought one at Costco a month ago and is very happy with it. $100 Basic outboard cover at Princess is the same as the bass pro but with different packaging, $10 cheaper

Nice team work on those fish. New boat and rigging looks like its paying off. Keep the reports coming.

I used to download Outdoor Journal Radio Hour but iit's the same infomercial each week. Orvis has good fly fishing and hunting podcasts. Wired to Fish may have podcasts as well.

One of the missing is an aquaintance of my son. I understand he was in great shape and had military and survival training. Hard to beilieve but speculation is that there was 1 lifejacket for 4 paddlers. I'm not sure if they had they're own boats of rented gear from an outfitter. I believe it is the repsonsibility of the paddlers to aquire the knowledge, experience and skills to keep themselves safe. Researching trips online on sites like this one or myccr is a big part of that. They are also repsonsible for equipping themselves with the right gear as well. However, do you think the park or outfitter (if they used one) bear any responsibility in a situation like this? Should someone have said you should not be paddling Opeongo in these conditions? Maybe they did and they did not listen.

Very cool report. Did you keep any for the Grill?

Very sad story when young people die. Some details on Algonquin Adventures. 4 people in 2 canoes, left outfitters on Opeongo in raining and choppy conditions mid afternoon Thursday both boats capsized, not sure if one boat capsized, then the other capsized while trying to help the other boat? 2 paddlers rescued by water taxi, 2 were not, not sure if the 2 missing bodies have been found.

Awesome report... Did you consider going back for the map? Or was the route straight forward enough that once you found the portage you could be ok without it. impressive portaging glad your hard work paid off and the fishing was good.

Get a card for your fish finder for sure. IMO The usefulness of the app comes down to the screen size of your phone.I don't have it on my phone but I would get it if I had a larger phone screen like the samsung. My son has it on his iPhone and it works well for him. Lots of old posts about this if you search Navionics. I bought a chart plotter/fish finder at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock yesterday. They really know they're stuff. For me it was worth it to drive an hour for the expertise and service. If you go I would call ahead and discuss what you need with Joselyn before driving out there.

Nice report. Looks like you guys had the lake to yourself. Do you cook the fish in the risotto or seperately?

It's nice that you got some decent fish in tough conditions. What did you guys get your fish on? -
Nice fish for both of you.
