  1. awesome report and pics !!!! you sure did some great multi species fishing for sure....check out blacks releases almost the same as the one pictured above but they have been around forever and still work the best.... cheers
  2. Yes I have seen that too Chris on the shield lakes I fish especially over mud flat bottoms it's the bottom comming alive as well as bait mixed in feeding on them you can fine tune it as well but remember if you see bait feeding the big fish are usually not too far away .......drag a tube or dropshot that for sure .....
  3. From what I have heard from a cop they end up at hunt camps and used for moose hunting and crossing lakes in the middle of nowhere ..... Or at boat stash places way up north ..... And true they are usually never seen again ... Here on the Kawarthas it's a regular occurrence and they will hit an area on a shoreline and move on .... I know several people that have had motors and stuff stolen over the years and they are never seen again .... That's the sad part most are never recovered I hope they get caught I have also heard of a guy who had his transom cut right out to take the motor ...... Unreal same with graphs and trolling motors lock them down for sure at least make it harder for them to get and hopefully make to much noise as well happens all too much for sure same for sleds and quads they just vanish ?????
  4. I use a 1.5oz bouncer in the Ottawa river which had lots of current up to 30ft with no problems keep the angle and slow down till you feel the bottom .... Been using them for over 20yrs ...... Sometimes in the fall will go to a 2oz but never more than that .... It works just have to refine it and deadly way to catch bottom hugging eyes as well as Muskies you name it .... ???
  5. I caught 4 nice walleye last week dropshotting for smallies in Haliburton ....... Just sayin .... Try some different tactics and you might be surprised
  6. Can kodi work on your iPhone 6s ?? I did also watch a few of Lindners shows on my puter at work and it has tight security as well and it worked fine ..... Just wondering if it will download to my phone so I can watch fishing shows on it from wifi ??
  7. they sure are enjoying the brook trout in Algonquin park......
  8. Yes I seen that on the news !!! Not sure if they have it all under control or not yet !!!!
  9. trust me there is many locals up north that do shoot them......and will continue,as they are on small lakes and will not put up with cormorants.....power to the locals with shotguns
  10. try mudflats the walleyes and smallies are gourging on mayflies right now and they don't have to chase down a meal....try flats in the 15-25ft depth
  11. yup30yrs of pulling cannonballs up and down on lake Ontario,as well as fighting thousands of salmon, major aches and pains...as well as regular fishing and being in the boat for up too 15hrs at a time....it goes on and on plus 3 back surgeries......it all flares up whn im fishing but the show must go on.....
  12. I have been making worm harnesses for well over 30yrs and the best part about them is they are easy to make and you can really custom make them and fine tune them once you aquire all the components to make them .... Best advice is don't cheap out on the hooks !!! Once you make a dozen or so you will see it's the only way to go and pretty easy and the bead/blade combos you can com up with are pretty much endless ...... I used to make a lot of them over the winter and sell them at a few resorts and trailer parks and some bait shops before the Internet and did ok with them as well they are fun to make and no 2 are exactly the same !!! Experiment with different line and sizes I have made them with just about every line weight and diameter and usually stick with 12-14lb test and works great Cheers. Shawn
  13. well done.....some great lookin bows....
  14. thanks gotta get me some more for sure at that price ....
  15. it also weighed 29 kilogrqms I seen a pic of it on facebook....it was a beast
  16. I seen a lightning bolt hit a channel bouy in the river right in bobcaygeon, and then bounced 60 feet and hit a door on a wooden boathouse and caught it on fire...I swear I was half blinded for a day or so after it was less than an 1/8 of a mile away when it happened....scared the crap outta me
  17. The MNR probly now has all the proper documentation they need to shut this down for good !!! As well as the residents who live there .... There is a lot more than most of you think there is also members who sit on the lake steward committee as well as the MNR people and a biologist regardless the temps were too warm there were problems again as usual and that's why the hours and the change of fish limit was brought in at end of day on Saturday ..... Hopefully the gong show will end we will see as the ball is rolling
  18. not a rumor 27 dead walleyes on Saturday, the MNR was on site taking pictures as were many people....it was cut short on sunday because of the fish kill on Saturday and the hot temps of fish being cooked in the livewells...it will likely be the last tourney as the mnr has the documented pics and info needed as does the biologists....
  19. Just put on 10lb power pro braid and tie on a floro leader and you will be fine and will cast a mile
  20. I went right by the cormorant island on sturgeon lake on Saturday in my boat...and its gross....there was at least 30 of them...and many more frying up and down the lake.....shoot them all....
  21. that's awesome !!!! great to see,and the kids looked like they loved it....education towards the fisheries is always a great thing keep up the hard works....thanks
  22. yes turtle poaching is big business, and the CO's try there best I have seen them checking in the omemee area as well as south pigeon lake and Emily provincial park, they eat them as well as sell the live ones.......unreal.....certain nationalitys they are a delecasy....
  23. the cormorants are sure eating the trout in algoquin park.....I see flocks of them flying right up the Ottawa river and right up the petawawa river into the park....there wont be much left in there in a few years...there are hundreds on the Ottawa and surrounding rivers and areas....read up on it....
  24. bring it on im ready as always !!!!! yup gonna be windy rainy and major drop in temps and pressure.....walleye chop for sure.....even wet snow a possibility....in the kawarthas, but it sure wont be the weather we are enjoying this week.....I have a deep V lund so wont bother me too much
