  2. Great news and nice to hear !!!! I read on another site they are doing some brown stocking in the quinte region of 40,000 total Browns and some pens for imprinting the chinooks !!!! And some of the Browns are of different sizes and will make an even better area down there awesome for the brown fishery !!!!?
  3. All depends on the wind and it's going to switch around and come from the northwest and blow all the ice from the long beach side back again it was blowing from the east. But they have also dropped the lake at least a foot in the last few days to ease the breakup ..... But lots of big size ice sheets & chunks out there also floating docks & debris
  4. Glad to see they are getting at least a chance to spawn !!! It's too bad they can't remove that ancient mess of a broken dam !!!!! Thanks to the volenteers ..... I used to do it many years ago in bommanville over the vanstone dam !!!
  5. Welcome aboard !!! And great intro ....I live on a Kawartha lake but do fish the muskokas a few times per year mostly in the fall for big smallies !!! Maybe we will see each other on the water !!! Cheers
  6. def do grease and inspect everything and then do it again...I trailer my boat trailer about 5-8,000km every year during fishing season, and replace tires and full bearings every 2 years just keep and eye on things like they said in above posts proper air pressure in tires also inspect lights and trailer tounge to make sure everything is snug and fits right on the ball, also check towing chains
  7. tires on my boat trailer,as well as my snowmobile trailer are both balanced
  8. best mayor Toronto ever had !!! not to mention he really cared for his people and will be missed....
  9. I have that exact cutco fillet knif and has been great and has been usued for at least 20yrs !!!!!!
  10. It's about a 1 mile swath from the marina to our govt dock in thurstonia on sturgeon lake !!! It has happened many times before and people just leave their wooden docks out and some years it's fine others they get crushed I knew it was going to happen last week when we had that major wind/hail storm blow through it only took about 20 mins for the ice to do all that damage !!!!! Peoples water lines are ripped out and even the marina wall looks like it's gonna collapse they just repaired it from last years ice event and it's wrecked again !!! A lot of those peoples docks are cottagers so they have no idea yet they are destroyed and there is gonna be lots of debris out on the water when it melts as all that stuff will be floating all over the lake as usual be careful first few times out and watch for things all depends on the wind again and how fast the water comes up
  11. And if it gets real windy there will be more damage for sure there is no stopping the ice that's for sure
  12. I have taken lots of pics in the last week lots of ice damage in Dunsford on sturgeon lake a boathouse almost destroyed dozens of docks ripped out and major damage from the wind last Wedbesday moving the ice around and even shoreline damage ice was right up on county Rd 24 the other day as well they had to close the road for a while to remove ice
  13. I don't sign a contract he is a local farmer guy I know up the road from where I live and he just wants cash in hand when you bring him your boat in the fall.....and its usually the same guys every year who store their boats there so most years I get thwe same spot too....
  14. same here I am last boat in and first one out !!!!! about 10 boats in the barn where I store mine, and the farmer calls me when he is ready for my boat as once mine is in the doors are slid shut and not opened for any reason till spring....and he knows I call him usually end of march or shortly before depending on the year we are having....
