  1. I can clean a walleye so fast it will almost swim away.....and that's with a very sharp filett knife...true story I think my best times is 25 seconds
  2. I cannot even imagine living life without fishing... .... and unless I am dead that's the only reason I will not be fishing ,for some of us fishing is life and means everything I can understand selling your boat and maybe some tackle but to not fish anymore after doing it for most of your life,in my case it has been my entire life since I could walk.....enjoy your trip down east lew.... heck even in the past when I have sold a boat I almost go into a panic attack knowing it could be a few weeks of not owning a boat till I get another one.... lol..lol. I have owned boats long before I could even have a drivers licence.....lol ,
  3. I do have pics of them I will have to put them up I will try and take vieo of them this weekend if I make it up there again this weekend,
  4. Great info and great write up !!! Years ago before they closed Oshawa harbor for the marina when we kept the salmon charter boat myself and a board member here would just troll the Oshawa harbor and longline flatfish and quick fish all day & night ..... And just hammer the Kings flatfish were modified and could be cast quite along ways and always outfished the spoons ...... Some days I would catch 10-20 kings and not ever leave the harbor more than a 1/2 mile ....... And even just casting off the beach would be productive at times if you don't have a boat
  5. Several lakes I fish in Haliburton have them .... Usually see them about this time of year as well I did see some a few weeks ago but last weekend there were many ..... They are about the size of a dime pretty cool to see them moving in the lake for sure but the MNR are not too concerned about them there is a list somewhere which shows what lakes they have been confirmed in and there is more than I thought in Haliburton .... Seems like they are spreading as well
  6. . Most of sturgeon is weeds ?? Where are you getting your info ??? ..... Garnet was going to help you ..... don't assume what you are not sure of ....
  7. I always run snubbers as well and have for well over 20yrs .... And never had an issue they do their job and protect against southbound salmon when you are going northbound ... Sounds to me like you may ha e had your drag a bit to tight or just a bad spot in line I also run braid to the dipsey and mono back to the bait usually 30-40lb big game or floro depending on what I set up I am running
  8. I have my HELIX 9 DI mounted on a 6 inch RAM mount in my Lund and I can see it from the front of my boat as it will almost swivel around and the larger ram ball mount it does not move at all and trust me the helix 9 is fairly heavy and no issues just drill a few holes mount it and you are good ..... Advice is get the largest ram mount you can get away with as the 6 inch mount had me almost looking face to face with it as opposed to looking down at it ???
  9. I usually have 15-20 packs of plastics in my boat at all times and yes some days a dozen of one type of plastic is like easy to go through...I use the plano waterproof boxes for most but ya the gulp stuff leaks like crazy and I will put them in a freezer lock bag,not the cheap ones and it works way better and keeps stuff fresh....I counted most a week ago and I have about 80 packs of plastics and about 14 boxes that I keep them in.... lol
  10. Yes I have downrigged many times for walleyes !!!! And in lakes other than the Great Lakes or quinte !!!!

  19. The Muskie pros are telling people not to fish for Muskies now as its death temps for them ..... And even the cold clear deep lakes of northern Haliburton where I fish are getting warm a lot warmer than I have seen in many years .... Even with all the high cold water they had all spring and early summer a lake I fished the other day was 79 no gross water up there yet but yes here in the Kawarthas it's gross ...... A lot of algae
  20. And penny may get another gold as well as she is on the women's team that still has to swim yet .... She could end up with 5 golds !!!! Awesome imagine that at 16yrs of age ...... Amazing

  22. May have been a tornado down the road from us in omemee ? ..... It came through sturgeon lake big time lots of torrential rain thunder and lightning yes we were under tornado warning for a while and it got nasty but made it through pretty good some branches down and a dock or 2 got flipped ...... Oshawa & omemee and now seems like Brampton as well as port bolster had tornadoes lots of damage appearing on Facebook I see as well as news reports
