first off,do you have any experience on big water ?? lake ontario is no place for a beginner by yourself,....things can change fast and waves or swells can cause you some issues if you have not ever been on big water....

same here mike i have 6 of them i use for trout and salmon.....no issues with them at all,great reel for the money !!!

Like mike says I have all my trolling reels with line counters on them and the accudepth from diiawa is great for the price or the okuma line that way you can follow dive curve charts and be way more accurate for trolling and you can use it for multi species from pike to muskies and walleyes !!!!

MNR stands for "ministry of no results". Get rid of the red tape crap fire the minister of the environment they are useless !!!! But as usual it's the people that really matter get layed off not the higher-ups !!!!! What a sad state our resources are in and the govt just keeps gutting the MNR more and more ...... Pathetic

<p>i was salmon fishing on lake ontario,about 5 miles out of port darlington,and watched as the darlington nuke plant let out a huge mushroom cloud of steam.....not knowing we had a major power shutdown i thought the plant was having a meltdown,people were freaking out on the marine radio and we started to get the word from the other salmon boats......it was chaos and people started to panic cause of what we all seen from the nuke plant....but as we found out it was the reactors shutting down and getting flooded with cold water....it was scary when you didnt know what was happening......</p>

Sturgeon are native to lake simcoe as well !!!! They used to net them by the thousands !!!! There are still some around too !!!!!

There are lots if resident walleye in the bay !!!! Fish the south shore if Mohawk bay along the east/west weed bed in and around 12-20ft it's a great spot or troll or jig the trench and shelf out from foresters island !!!! And cause its quinte you never know what you will catch there's big pike around there too so be prepared good-luck Cheers

Well I have been very busy chasing bass around this summer and I made a point if fishing lots of different lakes this summer so far I have fished 13 different lakes !!!!! And learned lots of new spots some lakes were new to me some were not and a few are now on my favorites list for sure !!!! Most trips were solo but I do have a few pics of some decent bass !!! It's been a different season for sure and some lakes were hard to figure out but I just stayed at it and worked it !!!!
