You just described the Kawartha lakes !!!!! It's happened here too they are nothing like they used to and favor more now to a warm water fishery !!!! That sucks for sure !!! And I have seen that happen to a lake in the Bancroft area and it just had lakers brookies and largemouth bass ,brookies were first to go lakers are so small and hardly caught very very few largemouth it's now been taken over by Rock bass in schools numbering In the thousands !!!!!! Too bad it happening all over you just have to look a little more the signs are everywhere !! It's the new normal now !!!! The ministry of no mistakes a.k.a the MNR does nothing about it !!!!! I know how you feel ..... Start stocking it again

yup the cityiot invasion is on full blast and the kawarthas will be stupid all weekend,and yes the drivers are at it already,my lake will be full of idiots as well....its ok we will have peaxce and quiet real soon....hey look another sea-doo....

I'm glad that they are protected I have caught a few while walleye fishing the Ottawa river and we were asking almost 20yrs ago up in the Ottawa river district to have it closed and nobody listened the MNR In pembroke said they were considering it and did nothing for years !!!!! I saw them caught and left to die and treated like they were a garbage fish !!!!! I see a few and catch the odd one now and agin so I'm hoping they are protected for along time as its gonna take years to get the numbers back as they do not reach sexual maturity apparently till they are 20-25years old !!!!!! So it's gonna take some time no problem I can wait !!!!!! And yes they fight hard in the current with that big tail for sure.....

For one reason it can take them 25 years of age before tey even spawn once !!!!! And can go several years in between them spawning again!!!and they were a native species

I troll with my 50hp Yamaha four stroke for hundreds of hours and it's awesome !!! I also have a RPM switch to change the rpm of the motor plus or minus 50 to a max of 200rpm !!!! Mine is fuel injected and not an issue at all !!!! And I do lots of trolling !!!!!!!change plugs every 2 seasons and great to go !!!!!! Go four stroke for trolling for both main motor and kicker

See the nylon on both sides marine silicone and screwed in !!!! So it's drill a few holes once and never again as I can change or add transducers and never have to drill anymore holes been working fine for 6yrs no leaks nothing !!!!! Guys do jig for them on the niagara bar,and on the big shelves on the U.S. side but as a rule salmon like to chase down their meal !!!!!! In my opinion would be way more suited for lakers than anything else?? Or walleyes on the bar as well !!!
