  1. I'm pretty sure whitby harbour is considered zone 17, same as oshawa harbour. S.
  2. Can't beat balsa for buoyancy, but it also dents, then leaks easiest. Where are you getting the balsa from? S.
  3. Yep, you can buy it by the foot at most marine shops. S.
  4. Interesting, I fish rice lake a couple times a week all year round, and have NEVER been stopped there. CO's or OPP.....I see OPP there, but never been stopped. S.
  5. Meanwhile, 2km from MNR head office, guys are ripping fat hen walleyes left right and centre. Burns my ass so bad!! I bet if I went down to lock 19 tonight I would get busted. Maybe i'll try it just to see. S.
  6. Last time I was checked i was about 15km back in the bush on a snowmobile access only lake. Never get checked around here on my home water. I couldn't even tell you the last time a CO checked me around here its been so long. It used to be Mitch Phinney locally to me, but I haven't seen him in so long, I'm not sure anymore. I could keep hundreds of walleye any day of the week and nobody would know the wiser. S.
  7. Is there any water at Omeemee? What are the TS guys doing this year? I've never seen it this low. There's no snow in the bush to fill these lakes either. Not cool. S.
  8. Yes, even idiots are allowed to breed. S.
  9. Wow....that is insane. Where abouts is that on the lake, Jimmer? S.
  10. Survival of the fittest would never work. Too many bleeding hearts nowadays. S.

  14. Everything is bad for you. Better stop breathing too. S.
  15. I have access to a few bushs around, its just a matter of finding the most convenient one with the best access. I did birch a few years ago, just one tree. Its different than maple for sure, and the yeild is crazy low. Hardly worth it IMO. S.
  16. Finished off 5L last night. Pulled taps and cleaned everything up. Not sure how next year will be, we're moving and dont have the maples there. Going to have to find a few trees to tap now. I think I finished about 16l this year. No monster runs like other years, slow and steady. S.
  17. an elk could easily kill a cow. A buddy of mine from Jasper has a video of one bull flipping his car!!! S.
  18. The only time I dont like the high tops is when its windy. The higher the float, the more you fight the wind. Nice job! S.
  19. I did my pt floor about 5 yrs ago with the new PT that is supposed to eat aluminum. No issues. Ive also built hundreds of decks in my life, and never seen a joist hanger rot off either. Some people worry too much. If your concerned, paint the underside of the ply, and anywhere it touches BARE aluminum and your good to go. S.
  20. Ive had PT in my boat for years. No issues. Best floor ever. S.
  21. Its called preventative maintenance. Pay a little now, or a lot later. Your choice. Im running a '93 2 stroke that has never run fuel with no stabilizer, and been seafoamed every fall. Not a single issue in all those years. Still runs like new. S.
  22. My harnesses wouldnt last an outing tied in 8lb...for real! S.
  23. Suits me fine. Boat is in the driveway itching to go! Might go tear up the bog after work tomorrow! Saaaweeeet! S.
  24. I dont like the super 8, or super slick whatever its called. Regular power pro for me. Harnesses I use 20lb mono. Braid will slice off quicker than mono. S.
  25. Thats good news! This wind will have it opened right up by morning I hope! I can hear the crappies calling me alreadyy! S.
