  1. I fish rice lake a lot, but never rented a cottage there because I live close by. If ya get a place and want to share info on the fishing, maybe even hook up, get in touch. Im having a brain cramp right now and cant even think of the name of the places near where I fish....lol....i'll get back to you. S.
  2. YIKES! Over $300/month is crazy for propane. Wow. S.
  3. I'm froze solid. My buckets are good and full, but solid ice. I hate when that happens. S.
  4. That has to be face cords. I've burned almost 4 bush cords so far this year. Used 6 last winter, and had to buy two of those. I've never burned more than 4 until last year. Thats a lot of wood. I have a pacific energy airtight insert that works amazing. Very efficient. S.
  5. Yup!! Landed lots of them too! S.
  6. There are no whitefish in simcoe!!
  7. Well, 3000km after an oil change, the car burnt itself out of oil. My ex didnt have the reciept for the oil change, so they threw her to the curb. If a car with 40k on it is burning all its oil after 3000km, there is a serious problem! Wasnt my car, and the ex wife and I were kinda in thhe middle of getting separated at the time, so I diidnt get involved. This was the kia dealer in oshawa. Taunton/stevenson rd. S.
  8. You could get a portable rigger for chheaper than a pair of dipsey set ups. Id rather use riggers than divers for sure. Hali is a beauty lake. Lots of whities in there too. Love that area! S.
  9. I burned less wood thaan last year, and hydro has been the same. I found last winter much colder and twice as long. This winter was only a month... S.
  10. Congrats Chris! All the best to Mom too! Hes a big boy!! S.
  11. Just by looking at that map, thats exactly where I would bbe headed! S.
  12. Catch plenty of musky on them too.
  13. The last ride check I went through was at 7am on a rural back road. The cop told me I looked surprised when I came over the hill. I said "well yeah, it IS 7am." He asked if i'd been drinking and I told him I hadnt even had my morning coffee yet. He saidd i'd be surprised how many legally drunk drivers they get at that time in the morning who have no idea they're still over the limit from the night before. Crazy! S.
  14. I"d bet surface temps will be right around the right temp then. Your graph will tell you that. If not, it will only be a few feet down to find the colder water. That time of year, fish are looking for warmer water.....where in summer, they're looking for colder water. Your thinking backwards. If you have a portable graph that tells temp, sometimes you can just drop the transducer down a few feet and see the change in temp. The north shore of a lake gets the most sun, therefore warms up earlier than the south shore, which is shaded.
  15. If I get a leaker, I give it a couple more whacks with a hammer lol.....it does happen though. S.
  16. I blew up a turbo forester twice before I learned my lesson lol S.
  17. I prefer to flatline them too. More fun, and just as effective that time of year. Diving cranks work great once you have the depth dialed in. I catch a lot of lakers on taildancers......TD7 and TD9's are my go to. They cover 10-20ft good depending how much line you let out. No weight required. S.
  18. I would never own another kia. Ever. The warranty looks great until you need it. We had one that blew the motor at 40K and they did nothing to help. S.
  19. Last summer we had black flies in freakin august. You never know with those buggers!! Be prepared is all you can do. S.
  20. Where are you located? I've got them at BJ's Bait and Tackle in Bewdley. A member of this site makes some awesome bucktails jigs. Pm liverelease. Great jigs, good price. They're all I use. S.
  21. It didn't blow out, they broke it up. S.
  22. Mine are the old cast spiles. 7/16 bit and brace....no power tools allowed lol I drill about an inch and a half or so....depends on the treee, the bark, etc..... S.
  23. 7 litres finished now. I'm all caught up, but sap is running like crazy! S.
  24. Yeah, its messing with my heat too. S.
  25. I only really need help with filtering, and sometimes bottling....and of course clean up. Its been mostly time constrraints, and ran outta propane for some reason on the first batch. Almost done the second batch now. S.
