  1. Good stuff fella's. Kids don't ever forget that stuff!! S.
  2. Sweet ride Bernie! My dad loves those old boats. He also builds boats, but nothing like that! S.
  3. I'm sorry, but this is total CRAP! If I was a cop and pulled you over and you started acting cagey like that I would be putting you in cuffs. You are giving them reason to believe you are up to something. Why not just be nice to each other? I don't know why people have to be such dicks these days. Your amendment rights are there so that you have recourse if you are treated badly. If your not treated badly, there is no need to use them. By acting the way you describe, it gives an officer reason to believe you have something to hide, and maybe cause him or her to investigate further. Your attitude is EXACTLY the reason these mass killings happen. For the record, I am 100% pro guns, but a lot of people need to give their heads a shake south of the border. You should take some advice from Art. S.
  4. Very nice, Dave. Maybe you will still have some work left for me to do when I make a trip up there in 2018? LOL Honestly though, I would love to be working on something like that right now! I miss building stuff! S.
  5. Yeah, check the pick up on the foot of the motor, and also run some weed whacker line up the pee hole. More than likely its just plugged with something. S.
  6. Cool Video Terry, and nice fish. Always good to test the floater suit out. I do every year just for the hell of it. They are awkward to swim in for sure. Designed to keep your face out of the water, so swimming on your back is easier. S.
  7. Yup, water snake. A beauty. I've seen them up to 6 ft and as big around as a pop can. S.
  8. 11 days till we leave for nfld. Dad knows one of the only places on the island to catch arctic char. We are gonna giver a whirl. Ive caught them there before, but they were small. Looks like you have a great trip planned man! Cant wait to hear about it! S.
  9. So, like a 3 way rig? Sounds like a tangle waiting to happen lol I find they slide through weeds better with an egg weight or worm weight in line with the harness about 2ft above. If not that way, I'm using a bottom bouncer with a 4 ft harness. 1 ounce per 10ft of depth minimum. S.
  10. Go to a proper battery shop and get a real deep cycle battery. The costco batts are good too, if you can find them. S.
  11. I mostly use a 1/4 oz egg weight above my harness. I make my harnesses about 2ft. This will run no problem up to 14 or so feet. Deeper than that i use a bigger weight. For bottom bouncers i tie my harnesses about 4ft. I dont use bouncers unless its deeper than 15ft, or the bottom has steep structure. Never tried 2...wheels are turning now...lol S.
  12. My thoughts too, but didnt want to open that can of worms. Bass get pounded from opener til closer every weekend. I dont fish them, but i also dont catch near as many incidentals as i used to. I dont know if its lack of fish, or too much pressure. S.
  13. Are you sure you can get a permit to clear the land and build there? Better be sure before that chainsaw starts up. Could be some serious fines otherwise. If you have the permits, the height of stump really depends what your end goal is, and the size of the tree. If they are small, cut them as low as you can. Larger trees its always easier to pull the stumps with a machine, so leaving the stump high enough to grab onto is important. Talk with the conservation authority about permits first. I dont know about your area, but i know around here there are a lot of vacant lots you cant build on and you require a permit to cut trees. S.
  14. If you guys come to caygeon, hit me up. I know a spot. Went to that hip concert there. Worste one of the 9 ive been to. S.
  15. Eagles arent an exciting show by any means, but their performances are done to a T every time. Its incredible. Better live than on their recordngs. Not many that can do that. I lost a bit of respect for neil young lately. He has turned into a bleeding heart. Cant stand that. I still jam a lot of his stuff though.... S.
  16. Coolest show was lalapalooza at molson park in the early 90's. Pearl jam, sound garden, alice in chains, chili peppers, rage against the machine....and a pile of others. It was a total bender. I will never forget. That was the show when eddy vedder climbed the stage and sang from the top....crazy! Saw Steve Miller Band at wonderland and they had just put down new sod. Well, the sod was flying everywhere lol...good times. Loudest by far I have ever seen was Lynard skynard and ted nugent at Copps. Sooo loud. I've never heard anything like it. The nuge tore it up. Tons of rednecks, and tons of P3TA's at the front doors going in and out were entertaining too LOL Seen the Hip 9 times....all good. CSNY was totally awesome, as were the Eagles....both those groups put on a show that is absolutely perfectly performed. Incredible artists. S.
  17. My 25 year old starcraft doesnt leak a drop. Bullet proof. S.
  18. Lookin good Dave!
  19. Cable drives turn the motor with cables that are attached to the footpedal. They are quicker to respond to turning, but the footpedal cant be moved very far from the trolling motor. Power drives are turned with an electric motor, anf the foot pedals have a 20ft cord so you can steer the boat from anywhere. They also have a continuous on function, so you just flip a switch, and slowly move along, then adjust steering when needed. I do a lot of slow trolling with mine, so i set the bowmount straight, and steer with my main engine from the drivers seat. No need to have my foot on the pedal. S.
  20. Wow, I count at least 20...maybe 21. S.
  21. Thats a great deal!
  22. I would get a 70lb 24 minn kota power drive.
  23. Bought a used minn kota from a member here many years ago, must be at least 8 years now, maybe more, and it still runs like a top, just like the day I bought it. I saved a pile of money. S.
  24. I dont cheap out on oil. Its the cheapest part of boating and probably one of the more important. I have been running yamalube in mine for a long time. It costs a fortune, but my engine is 23 years old and still runs like a top. S.
  25. Congrats on the sale Cliff. It is bittersweet I'm sure, but every closed door opens a new one. I'm sure your next venture in life will be just as good as always! If you need a hand with anything, let me know! S.
