  1. Having owned about 12 different boats over the years, in my opinion, keeping the the trolling motor batteries as close to the back of the boat the better! This allows for the best performance for the boat!
  2. Sorry for the delay in posting this request! It's always a crazy busy time of the year! I hope that everyone who attended the 2019 Canadian Ice Fishing Expo at it's new home at the Georgian College campus. I had a great time there, talking ice fishing with so many avid anglers. If you have any feedback about the show, whether it's about the location, the venue, lack of whatever, or too much of somethings, please post in this thread and I'll pass your comments onto the organizers. They are always very eager to get feedback and try to make the show batter each year! Thanks for your assistance in this matter & Happy Holidays!
  3. Renewed mine earlier this month! My Outdoor card arrived in about 8 days!
  4. Great contest for an awesome Garmin unit! Some lucky angler will be pretty happy on Jan. 31st! Good luck to all!
  5. I had quite a few great conversations with John back in the day but never had the privilege of fishing with him. He was an awesome writer.
  6. Merry Christmas to one & all! Best wishes for a Happy Healthy Prosperous New Year!
  7. Drove through Orillia on the 28th and there were plenty of people out off of Tudhope! With these warm days, I would check the ice carefully if you're heading out! Walk in single file, have a rope that everyone in the group is tied off to, spud as you go & check the ice thickness every so often! If it is a warm day, I would make sure that I do the same coming in as you can lose ice during the day! Be safe out there!
  8. I'm so glad that they did a second season! there are some great characters in these shows! Lots of laughs and some pretty good fish caught too!
  9. Sweet offer Cliff! Who couldn't use a bit of time down south with our winters ! LOL Enjoy yourself and catch lots!
  10. What a beautiful dog she was! I'm so sorry for your loss! Our pets are a huge part of my wife & my life, it is extremely hard everytime we lose one of them. In fact we are empty nesters for the first time since we've been together, just waitiong for the right pup to come along! Our home does feel empty with the furry ones!
  11. Be safe out there! Not worth taking any chances, no fish worth dying for. Had some friends who ventured out on 4" of good ice one morning and by the end of the day there was only 1 1/2" in some spots!
  12. Awesome seeing you guys! Busy show, great attendance in spite of the weather!
  13. Shaded fishing ranges, daily updates, dock to dock auto routing, SonarCharts Live, weather, tides are a few things off the top of my head!
  14. Once you have the app, you always have it, you do not need to renew your subscription to use it. But by renewing your subscription annually, you then have access to all the advanced features and updated mapping.
  15. Love GIANT Pike! Check out the one caught through the ice by Canadian Ice Fishing Expo speaker, Gordon G Pyzer while out with HT Enterprises Inc’s TGO, Tom Gruenwald Outdoors and In-Fisherman’s Doug Stange (About the 3 minute mark)! If that doesn’t get you fired up for the ice fishing season then nothing will! #MonsterPike #InFisherman #CanadianIceFishingExpo
  16. BiG NEWS announced by Navionics about their mobile Boating App. All you need now is one app and one current subscription and you can use it across all your devices whether it is on an Apple or Android platform. This makes what I believe is one of the best values in boating or fishing an even better value! See full details and how to access your app across all your devices! https://www.navionics.com/usa/blog/post/boating-app-one-subscription-for-all-your-devices?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=cross_platform_app_2019&utm_content=us_blog_1222019
