  1. Thank you gentlemen!!! Good to see back Rick.
  2. My mechanic told me the same for my truck and not to use Penzoil. Claimed it was a lower grade of oil and broke down too easily I've been using the Shell Nautilus 2-Stroke Oil the last couple of years and it seems to work well. Watch for it to go on sale at Canadian Tire in the spring. A few other on the board here were using it at one point in time. Thanks for the tip on the Super Tech Bob.
  3. Great report. Love the pic with the fire in behind you (assuming it's you) holding up the walleye. The scenery from top of the "hill" is awesome. Good on you for helping out some in need as well.
  4. Great report Wayne! Looks like a great time was had by all and great to have everyone home safe and sound. Well, not to sure how "sound" Joe is. Not sure if pink is his colour but to each he own Thanks for the laughs.
  5. Congrats to all!
  6. Good to know. LMAO! I did just as well and I stayed at home. I'm sure you had a lot more fun then I did.
  7. Please do tell Terry. I've been wait for your report. Nice report Walleyemaster.
  8. Shhhhhhhhh.....Keep that a secret. Some great advice here for you Mike.
  9. Thanks for the I.D. help with the birds ehg. Cliff, there was another outfitter in Algonquin - Outbound I thing they were called. Anyhow, they allow kids to ride with an adult for $25 I think. Seem pretty reasonable I thought. Not sure it the outfitter that we went with would do the same thing or not. Glad you all enjoy the post, thanks for reading.
  10. Di and I decided if was time for a getaway and have been wanting to try dog sledding for a couple of years now. We ended up going with Adventure Seeker Tours Brad, who has over 20 years of sledding experience behind him, was out guide for the day. Here's a shot of him getting our team ready with Di in the background ready to go. Some of the other dogs were quite happy to just enjoy the sun and have a nap before we headed out. Love the lead dog yawning. Gotta love a face like this one. Di looking like a pro. Once the teams were in place and we had our orientation we were off. I found it quite amazing that once the dogs knew it was time to go they just sprung to life. <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i105.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid105.photobucket.com/albums/m240/Fishnsled/Family%20Weekend%202009/Dog%20Sledding/MVI_5724.flv"> And a couple clips going down the trails. It's a totally different experience being a passenger as to the driver. Me, being "the pro" (never done this before) am quite willing to offer instruction during the ride. <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i105.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid105.photobucket.com/albums/m240/Fishnsled/Family%20Weekend%202009/Dog%20Sledding/MVI_5726.flv"> <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i105.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid105.photobucket.com/albums/m240/Fishnsled/Family%20Weekend%202009/Dog%20Sledding/MVI_5728.flv"> Di glad to be taking a break after an hour or so of mushing. As were the dogs. It was my turn on the way back and I soon found out what all the huffing and puffing was about. Man!! What a work out. It was quite funny that if the dogs felt that you were not helping out enough they'd stop and give you the look. lol! Di and I were both had a great time. We had an awesome team of dogs and thanked them at the end of our tour. Thanks to Brad as well! From here we went to our B&B for the night. We stayed just outside of Huntsville at Ink's Spot B&B Great place to send a couple of days, great food and accomodations. (Thanks for the great hospitality) It was a pleasant surprise to see the visitors before breakfast on both mornings that we were there. On the Sunday we ventured into Algonquin Park for some hiking and snowshoeing. Before we went in we did a side trip to the water falls (can't remember the name of them). Di and some ice build up on our way back to the falls/ View from the top of the falls Looking toward them. Amazing how water moving that fast can have a build up of that much ice. And a few shots from Algonquin. From the top of the lookout trail. This guy (martin) was hanging around the bird feeders at the visitor centre. Grossbeak. (At least that is what I was told) Not sure what this little guy is but nice colours on him. Well that's pretty much our weekend in a nutshell. Always nice to try something different and I'd recommend you add dog sledding to your bucket list. Got that one crossed off mine now.
  11. Congrats to the new family!!!
  12. Some great input guys, thanks. Good point Lew. I checked and the Humminbird facility is in North Bay. Hopefully you never need one but good to know.
  13. Great question Brian and great response TJ. Some insight to this great place that I couldn't even imagine happening or going on. Glad things have worked out. Been around here for quite a few years now and certainly do miss "the family" when I'm not able to check in as often as I'd like. Couldn't ask for a better place to come and hang out if even for a few minutes. It certainly has given me that mental escape I've needed to get through the day on many occassions. Made a few good friends myself here and looking forward to making some more in the coming years.
  14. I too, am sorry for your loss, Jacques. My condolences to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Will
  15. Thanks for all your efforts!
  16. I've been shopping around for a while for a new GPS unit. Keeping with in my budget I have it narrowed down to 2 units. Does anyone have either of these units and if so what have you found to be the pros and cons of each. For the others who don't, which would you buy and why. Thanks for your input. LMS-522CI Or 787C2
  17. Never been to Nettogami Lake before but you cannot go wrong with Cochrane Air. At least that has been my experience. Last year we were at Mikwam and the white Gulp Minnow Grub seemed to out fish everything else for the walleye. Williams spoons, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits worked well for the pike. Been to Floodwood and Mikwam in the past and will be at Mikwam again this year at the end of June. Looks like Bapthorpe has some good advice for you, might have to get a few of those Aftershocks to try myself. Enjoy your trip!
  18. Great looking ride Lew. I'll tow it for you anytime if you like/need. Of course I'd have to help you slim it up at the end of the tow Congrats!
  19. Thanks for the update DouG. Great to hear he's doing well and getting back into the swing of things. Don't over do it Rick.
  20. I was sooooo looking forward to going this year as we had moved our flyin trip later. It would now be the same new date as the Lakair G2G. Oh well, one of these years. Have a great time everyone.
  21. Dang! I wish I could be there Saturday.
  22. I'll be looking at a new GPS. I was informed yesterday that I won the Spring Fishing and Boat Show Contest on 680news. This gives me another $200 to play with as well as free tickets to get in. Better save a couple of bucks for a new Facts of Fishing shirt...
  23. WTG Terry! Nice fish. I bet you're happy with the sled for getting around in all that slush on the weekend. Good looking ride.
  24. Very sorry to read this news Ron, my deepest condolences to you and your family.
