  1. When I arrived at 5 am,the fly hatch was amazing. I could see all these small fish hitting the flys on the surface. I even seen a few bigger fish, but could only manage about a 7 ,in this size range. All on my morning dun flys. Only took a pic of this one just to prove my own tie works . So many times I had a fish take and miss the fly right on landing in the water . That is crazy active feeding . Was a fun morning forsure, even if they were small. There was a mix of flys. Large white ones and small. Came upon a dead resident. Not sure how it got dragged up to the bank. That would of been a fun one to catch. It would seem it is also turtle egg laying time. Came upon this big lady. And this one crossing the road path. I have seen a few real big brutes in the water system. Just a short vid. Funny thing, they were really active til I clicked to make a vid.LOL If you watch close, you will see a decent fish move in the riffle.

  2. And make sure you have a lug wrench that fits the trailer wheels because the one for your truck may not.

  5. You should make a habit to look in rear view mirror constantly. Any side to side movement is bad. Any excessive lean to tire when making you turns bad. With a new axle and hub you should jack up after 500 k and wiggle tire hand at 12 and 6 any slop adjust bearing. If you tow a lot this is never ending .

  7. Exchange makes picking up used goods across the pond a pain in the rear. I just picked up a Helix 12, saved over a $1000 instead of buying it here but the exchange rate was still a hard thing to swallow lol

  8. Trust me, the only “new” things in my boat are the seats, the tie off ropes and the batteries lol. I shop the American market hard for used gear, it’s the only way I can afford to make it happen. If you can believe it I outfit the boat with electronics (doesn’t include the re-wiring) for in and around $1,600 canadian spaced out over 3 years and that included two ice fishing transdeucers as add ins for the helix 7’s so I can ice fish with them! our dollar now makes that far tougher to pull off! we could go for a fish sometime once covid is over with. I already know we have something in common to talk about lol

  11. I remember being at the local bait store with her and her saying that this pink lure looked cute. Picked it up and put it in her stocking at Christmas not knowing what would happen. She hit on the first shoal (15') of my trolling route.

  12. Fleming students are technicians who work carrying out the research projects designed and overseen by University grads like with PHDs. Problem with them PHDs is some of them think they know everything but in reality the PHD just means they have a greater understanding how to find/figure stuff out. Not many credible PHDs at MNR these days if tagging studies is the best they got. Only goal of this is to try and determine if a reduced season or slot or harvest or equip restriction or ? should be considered. LOL! We here who fish Simcoe and see/hear what is caught already see the writing on the wall. Maybe MNR can't see it cuz their doctoral diplomas are all on the wall obscuring the OBVIOUS. LOL!!!

  16. One of my friends went to the Lunge Lodge every year, late 1980's we drove up from Pointe Au Baril to visit and fish with them for a day. We followed them around, because of the rocks, and caught bass, basically all we fished for. His son and another guy from our bass group here end up buying the lodge some years ago, they sold it a couple of years ago. They had an annual bass tournament for guests every September? from what I could see from following their facebook site the big bass was usually in the 4-6 pound range, and it could be either species.
