  1. Some good does come out of these crazy times! I managed to get back to something that I have not done for probably decades and that was to fish out of a canoe! A truly peaceful and serene day on the water, at least it was until the fish started to bite! As much as the roar of Yamaha 250 excite me, there is definitely something to be said about stealthily paddling around in a canoe. It was a memorable day with some beautiful fish and great company with good friend, Wil Wegman. BTW never mind the delicious fish afterwards!

  2. So wifey did another double batch of the asparagus soup yesterday. Two onions still left it 1/2 cup short so I grabbed a good handful of leeks to make up the difference. Well as good as this soup is the leeks added a wonderful subtle flavour to the mix, just what I was hoping for. So good. We kept 1 1/2 cups aside for fresh eating and filled 7 containers for the freezer. I have a feeling there will be more batches made up over the next while. Freezer to table with frozen base is like 15 minutes or less if microwave is used.

  4. You are 100% wrong you have zero idea whether this person had covid or when or if they were going to cough. if I followed your thinking there would be no reason to wear a mask because the person would be coughing all the time so you would know to stay away. And as I said they touched people walking by if they were coughing into their elbow and then rubbed someone they can transfer ever easy and more to the point if they feel comfortable not distancing without a mask if there is a problem they are into the routine of not thinking about follow proper procedures as that is the proper procedures yeah thanks for your insights but I think they are way off base and do nothing to protect me I will look after myself thanks

  5. You could try to weld it. Soldering iron and a few tie wraps. I repaired the fuel tank on my quad and it hasn't leaked since. Have a look at this guy's vid. Dan.

  6. The Public Launch Ramp on Fox Run is a better ramp and parking is far better. About 4 kms further up the road from where you plan on launching.

  10. I get my smoked hocks, (not cut in half) from Hoffmans in Stayner, a two supper size. Oven roasted and served with home made sauerkraut. During the summer season I do them wrapped in foil on the BBQ.

  14. With last nights thunder storm and this mornings general crapiness (nice now here in Mississauga though) I put up a post I had written a while ago - the rainy day shuffle Nothing can kill an outdoor trip like bad weather - post is just a few of things my family and trip groups have done over the years to "weather it out" https://www.northernjacks.com/post/the-rainy-day-shuffle?postId=5e19edd0a394bc0017c406a6 Cheers Andrew

  15. Sorry if I’m mistaking what your issue is, but I was having issues with minkotta’s plugs so at the recommendation of my close electrician friend I switched my entire plug to a heavy duty twist lock RV plug. I was able to buy one at the Home Depot. He actually switched his on his boat too because he said the minkotta plugs are crap in comparison. I personally absolutely love the conversion. It’s way more heavy duty and the wire holders are far far sturdier. (I was having a problem with my wires falling out of the minkotta receptacle which actually caused a fire in my boat)

  17. Some homemade treats for the kiddies today. Beaver tails. Sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar . Layered some Nutella on a few . And now that I am getting the bread to a good constant loaf,I made a cheese bread. Grated old cheese, 11/2 cups, and added it to the dry mix , Smells so good .
