  1. I spent many many years chasing muskies after dark and really enjoyed it but heading back to the dock could be dangerous with other boats on the water with no lights on. I always drove at slow speeds and ALWAYS had a flashlight to scan the waters ahead of me. Unlike some on this board I don't consider myself an expert on everything under the sun and will let this case play out the way it's sposed to with a judge listening to all the facts and then making his decision. I wasn't there when it happened and I doubt anyone else from this board were either, so I find it interesting how many have already decided who was at fault without knowing the actual facts. But that's just me.

  2. There were the same sort of statements made when this 1st happened, let's allow the courts to make that decision. The OPP have done their investigation and I highly doubt they'd lay the charges against the wife if they weren't sure of the details.

  3. If you're running around on a lake in the dark without lights, you're just asking for something like this to happen. How can someone be so stupid, unreal.

  4. your battery is failing or your engines starter motor is drawing too much amps your fishfinder is made to shut down if the voltage gets too low a new bigger battery can help, also running a larger wire to the fishfinder can sometimes help. both + and - wires

  7. Dr Pepper Jalapeno smoked jerky, took it off the internet, some call to heat up the ingredients but I did not, marinated in the fridge for 48hrs. I also did not dry ea strip of meat off, right from the marinade onto the jerky racks and into the smoker. 3hrs tops, I start taking pcs off as they are done. Ingredients 1 2-3 pound beef eye of round roast thin sliced against the grain For the marinade: 2 cups Dr. Pepper 2 jalapenos sliced 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 2 Tablespoons kosher salt 2 teaspoons black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder Instructions In a medium saucepan, combine all of the ingredients for the marinade. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to a simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the mixture has reduced by half. You should have just over a cup of marinade. Chill the marinade completely. Transfer the sliced beef to a gallon sized zip top bag and pour in the marinade. Massage the marinade into the meat and refrigerate for 8-12 hours, or overnight. Preheat your smoker or oven to approximately 170 degrees. Remove the meat from the marinade and dry each strip thoroughly by laying on paper towels. Transfer the strips to the grill grate, jerky rack, or cooling rack and smoke/cook for 2-3 hours (depending on the thickness of your slices, some thicker pieces can take 4-5 hours). Check often after the first hour to be sure your jerky is drying evenly. You are looking for jerky that is firm and still slightly pliable, but not soft. If you bend your jerky and it breaks, you've cooked it a little too long. Place the finished jerky in a gallon zip top bag while it is still warm. Don't seal closed all the way. The jerky will steam in the bag slightly and this step will make the jerky moist. The jerky will last 3-4 days on the counter or 2 weeks in the fridge.

  11. Let those off us who haven't done something similar/stupid in our youth, cast the first stone. I bet the ripples from the tossed stones don't even disturb the surface. HH

  12. I just noticed the swivel your using! Yikes!! Do yourself a favour and upgrade those! I wouldn't trust those cheap brassy things to much smaller fish, let alone a big angry chinny ? Josh

  13. Tou di la verita. "You speak the truth" in my Amiltonyio Italiano. I can butcher a language as well as I can butcher a song. One of the best Fall days we ever had here at the cottage was the day we had a few guests over and I taught them how to pull the skins and seeds out of the peppers, the worst job BBQ ing them. I brought the TV, area rug, sofa, love seat, tall lamp, the coffee table and magazine rack out on the rather large deck and watched the Bills beat New England that afternoon. This was before we moved here and had the furniture the previous owners left. How can you beat a day like that? We did something similar when I brought a TV down to the beach and watched the Stanley Cup when Buffalo was in the final. A bon fire with salzeeges and Sicilian potatoes on the coals roasting and a cooler full of Molson's and a crock of Crown Royal plus we had the Stanley Cup on. Now that is a Canadian commercial like no other. The only problem was with the bugs on the screen there was more than a few dozen pucks in play. Warning, do not spray a TV screen with Muskall to keep the bugs off it. We might have done that after we put a good dent in the bottle of Crown.

  18. I would ask you to sit with me MR.B, but that would put me over my pay load. Nice fish, but I have heard that laker eggs are taboo. For some reason, they give off a scent that will turn fish away. There is probly a very logical explanation for this.

  20. If you Google "Application of HST to core charges" you will see how CT was right and you are wrong with examples for different scenarios. Do you really think a large chain like CT would be ripping off customers with illegal activities with likely hundreds of parts with core charges sold daily from their stores? Honestly, you sound like the typical grumpy old man with an attitude problem who thinks everyone is out to rip you off. I can only imagine how unpleasant it was for the employees to deal with you. Send me your email and I will EMT the $1.30 that you believe was stolen from you.

  21. To answer your question you are "out to lunch." I once worked in payroll at a plant of 10,000 hourly rated workers and I always got the guy that was short on his pay 25 cents or a buck something and wanted to argue with me and told me I don't know how to do my job. If I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out a quarter to save myself some unnecessary work but it wasn't good enough. He wanted his entire 2 week pay recalculated because he was positive it would get him into a tax bracket that was to his advantage. I'd make him wait for an hour, and they did for pennies for God sakes. I had to do it with a smile while the work on my desk piled up and I wasn't getting out of the office until it's all done. 25 pennies, 130 pennies. what the hell man more important things in life to get stressed over. You are probably right, perhaps, but being right doesn't always mean you have to prove it. I think my Mother was related to you somehow. I tell everyone that moans and groans over stuff like this crraap. Spend 15 minutes at the Children's Hospital walking up and down the wards, then come back and tell me you have problems.
