ketchenany Posted July 14, 2016 Author Report Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) Why Al, mines been down for 19 years and still looks like new around the pool. Just asking but around here they all seal it, to give it the wet look Edited July 14, 2016 by ketchenany
John Bacon Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 When I had my driveway done, one of the workers from Northland Paving said that it was not necessary.
dave524 Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 I had a patio 12 x 32 done last year, my contractor also said it wasn't necessary and if you do be prepared to redo it every few years, I opted not to.
misfish Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Im sure it,s high grade Italian stone. Nough said. Capisce ?
porkpie Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Mainly for stamped concrete driveways and walkways. It is also slippery! I did the driveway and walkways at my last house, and you had to watch your step when it was wet. $150 taxes in is close to what I paid for a pail in 2012 before we moved.
HTHM Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 I would suggest that you don't either. Setting yourself up for a lifetime of maintenance
Beans Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 Bloody interlock crap...I'm sure it was a government make-work project...I have to get it reset every couple or three years due to frost heave up...Grrr.
irishfield Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 It's only good where you don't shovel the snow Norm, or they dug it down 4' and powered tamped before installing... or Florida!

Lack of proper prep Norm. Done properly it shouldn't move. I wouldn't be sealing mine either. Edited July 15, 2016 by Big Cliff

There is an anti-slip additive you can put in the sealer and it makes a huge difference. I did mine without the additive 2 years ago and it was so slippery I had to re-do again last year. Huge difference and wife is happy now.... I win! If you want to seal your concrete or pavers, CPD Products are some of the best on the market (not necessarily 'Green' however). I have used Cipadeck on a number of stamped and exposed aggregate driveways & sidewalks. You can get it at most of the concrete supply places and CRS rentals. CPD also has an anti-slip powder you just mix in before spraying and it's makes a huge difference. http://www.cpd.ca/products/division-7/dampproofing-and-waterproofing Edited July 15, 2016 by G.mech
porkpie Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 I sold the house and my new place has an asphalt driveway, otherwise I'd take your advice. I can't tell you how many times I almost bought it on that driveway in the rain LOL. I do miss the look of a stamped concrete driveway though.
