Plenty of time to get there, set up camp and get fishing before dinner. I've found it hard to bring everything I need for a good long trip though. 8 days is my longest so far. Might have to leave the generator and espresso machine at home next time. Anytime you want to fly up and go camping for a week or so let me know Bill. When we went, the biggest weight by far onboard was fuel. We camped at two locations, the second of which was a helipad enroute to Lukotse (however that is spelled). It was a long way back to the dock at YK!

akaShag Posted August 10, 2020 Report Posted August 10, 2020 "Red sky at night, angler's delight." Thing of beauty, Dave!
DRIFTER_016 Posted August 16, 2020 Author Report Posted August 16, 2020 Been hard at it, just haven't been posting. Got the ceiling joists/trusses all finished up as well as the vent plumbing and fire sprinkler pluming all done in the attic. Still have some wiring and woodwork to do. Also have to finish the vaulted ceiling insulation before I can do the attic insulation. 2
akaShag Posted August 17, 2020 Report Posted August 17, 2020 Absolutely AWESOME, Dave. I have said it before, you are a freaking MACHINE! Doug
DRIFTER_016 Posted August 18, 2020 Author Report Posted August 18, 2020 Had time at lunch to screw 7 25-30 watt solar panels to the front of my deck. Didn't have time to wire them up yet though. 1
DRIFTER_016 Posted August 24, 2020 Author Report Posted August 24, 2020 Another crappy day in paradise. 😎 1
akaShag Posted August 24, 2020 Report Posted August 24, 2020 I'm assuming that was sunset, not sunrise...................."Red sky at night, angler's delight." And only three weeks to freeze-up, eh Dave!😄 2

DRIFTER_016 Posted September 4, 2020 Author Report Posted September 4, 2020 Got one of my attic access panels done. Took a lot longer than expected but it fits perfectly. 18" of high density foam should stop any heat loss. Also put LED lighting in the attic for inspection and working. There's no room to get into to the attic without removing one of the walls to the access but it was built for inspection and access to the pipes that connect to the sprinklers if the galvanized pipe needs replacement at any point.
LostAnotherOne Posted September 5, 2020 Report Posted September 5, 2020 One of these days Dave I'm going to go through this thread right from the beginning lol. Longest and most interesting post of all time.
DRIFTER_016 Posted September 18, 2020 Author Report Posted September 18, 2020 Got my sweet fan installed this week. Took quite a while as there were a ton of parts to it. Dim-able LED light, 9 speed low draw DC motor, reversible, timer. It's got everything a feller needs.
mitch seguin Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 There's a remote you don't want to misplace.
DRIFTER_016 Posted October 7, 2020 Author Report Posted October 7, 2020 Getting closer to having electrical up and connected. Have to use some regular breakers until I next go to the US to pick up a bunch of combination Arc Fault/GFCI breakers for my wet areas. Got all the Arc Fault breakers for the rest of the cabin on sale when I drove through MN, WI and MI in December. And yes, I like my wiring neat and organized. 4
16 Footer Posted October 7, 2020 Report Posted October 7, 2020 Great work Dave! I have followed your posts on your cabin from the beginning while I have been building my "cabin", have learned a few things from you. I am in the process of painting, then flooring then install kitchen. 2
Toronto_Angler Posted October 12, 2020 Report Posted October 12, 2020 2 Cabins built by hand and I'm over here getting confused putting together my toddlers toys lol

DRIFTER_016 Posted February 21, 2021 Author Report Posted February 21, 2021 Got out of isolation from my travel South so I went to the cabin today. 😁 Pack down trail, hang with my neighbors around the fire and take some measurements for a wood order. Good times, wind was cold, no sun to be seen and a bit of snow. My awesome neighbors were nice enough to plow a road from their place to mine so I can park right at the shore of my place. Going to make hauling materials a lot easier. Got a lot going in this year, 3,000 sq ft of interior panelling, 1,000 sq ft of flooring and 3 dozen sheets of plywood along with hopefully some custom cut pine for the front wall. You can see where I had to park before, way out where those little black dots in the distance are. And a shot from the lake. 1
