Roy Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 The latest I have right now is that according to IPB, the most likely cause is a change in Ad Blocker's software.
Raf Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 ok that is the adblocker issue but can you please check to see if my IP is banned LOL!! my issue is separate (and the fact that I am writing this, goes to show how useless IP blocking is.)
manitoubass2 Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 ok that is the adblocker issue but can you please check to see if my IP is banned LOL!! my issue is separate (and the fact that I am writing this, goes to show how useless IP blocking is.) Sorry Raf you are banned!??? Too many musky pics
Roy Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 All's clear here, Raf. IP addresses are active, email and username is active. No blemishes on your record whatsoever. Congratulation!
Raf Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Roy, this is what I am seeing, the IP address I am trying to access the site from is 23.233.xx.xx Edited March 31, 2015 by Raf
TJQ Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I had someone complain about that as well a few days ago.. same screen shot from an non member trying to lurk,... its seems that if your not logged in and running ad blocker its not letting you view a page. Its definitely an adblocker issue as the Google ads are not showing up where they would normally be. Personally I think that if the ads are what keeps the site going you should turn your ad blocker off.. imho. lol Its quite possible there may be nothing we can do about it.
Raf Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) the adblocker is off TJ you can make out the luremaking.com ad. i'm having the same issue regardless of which browser I try.. IE (gasp) has never even had a blocker installed. Edited March 31, 2015 by Raf
TJQ Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Hmmmmmm ... Guess I'm gonna have to install; adblocker... uhhg.. lol.. heres a question if you change to the earthbound theme does it do the same thing??
Raf Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) It won't let me change themes either. same error message. There is one more possibility that you have clued me into here TJ (lightbulb went off).. DNS spoofing service also does adblocking. Gonna see if I can disable that temporarily. edit: disabled it, the charming russian brides are back.. but same error msg. Edited March 31, 2015 by Raf
Raf Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 the really odd part is when I use my phone as a hotspot and access from the same PC I get in fine. which makes me believe it's my IP address that is the culprit.
vance Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Raf I have had the same issue before and after I deleted all my cookies and rebooted the computer I was good to go and I have no idea which fixed it. vance
Locnar Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 On IE it works fine... Chrome is doesn't work at all with adblock on or off.
TJQ Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I made a change to the table on the top last week.... i put it back to the way it was... has this solved the isuue for anyone??
Terry Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) it did not change anything but Rafs problem is a different issue the the ad issue Edited March 31, 2015 by Terry
misfish Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 A while back,I had what Raf had,but it went away magically????? The only problem I have is youtube links will not work like they use too. I can only post links.
aplumma Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 yup Raf has figured out how to self ban himself. Still trying to see if we can get him back .
aplumma Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Raf try powering down your modem and let it reset it will clear your ip address and possible a new address. if this fails contact your server and ask if they have a different ip they can manually set. Art
icefisherman Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Don't think the problem is with the AB... I am not touching my AB and when I use IE bamm no problem visiting the site....With exact same settings and not changing anything I try Chrome and it doesn't allow me access....all I see is the very top of the site. Nothing below the top six button bellow the Ontario Fishing Community sign. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
Ralph Field Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I'm now able to access the site without pausing ad blocker using chrome !
lew Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Now working for me too with Chrome. Edited March 31, 2015 by lew
