nelly Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 My fishing season is now over and it is a matter of time before I will get cabin fever. Watching a movie that I enjoy will help me through the winter. Here are some of my top picks. For The Adults 1 Jaws -1975 2 Captains Courageous -1937 3 Man's Favorite Sport -1964 4 A River Runs Through It -1992 5 Grumpy Old Men -1993 For The Kids & Family 1 Finding Nemo -2003 2 Whale Rider -2002 3 Moby Dick -1956 4 The Little Mermaid -1989 5 The Incredible Mr. Limpet -1964

PatB Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Nelly, what you talking about cabin fever, month and half, ice fishing.....
Lungelarry Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 The original " Old Man and the Sea",with Spencer Tracy.
Blake Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Get the WFN and you have lots of action all year long or go to their website and watch for free.
Weeds Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 I'd have to say Big Fish (2003) with Ewan McGregor. Good flick. Only a little bit of fish'n but still cool.
express168 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 " Gone Fishin!" with Joe Pesci and Danny Glover, always good for a laugh!
FISHEYEZ Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 gone fishin is a good one, surprised only one other mention for it..... a river runs.... is another good one,
Garyv Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Well there not fishing movies however some deal with water. 1. Master and Commander...The far side of the world ( one of the few I purchased and didn't download ) 2. A Prefect storm 3. The Shipping News ( watched it 5 times so far ) 4. American Beauty ( Kevin Spacey is one of my favourite actors ) 5. Napoleon Dynamite ( don't ask me why ) 6. Man In The Wilderness ( old but a classic ) 7. A Man for all Seasons ( Thomas Moore had scruples ) 8. Driving Miss Daisy ( See it more than 10 times ) And probably 10 or there about others.
pameladallaire Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 I was going to say grumpy old men and then I thought, JAWS, absolutely!!! Du dum, du dum, du dum du dum du dum, chomp. Pam

Guest mistyriver1 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 MY Avatar from the old board THAT'S A 20 FOOTER.......25.......THREE TONS OF EM Where's Uncle Buck, I know his answer to this thread as well.
jediangler Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Put up another vote for "Old Man and the Sea". Can't beat Hemmingway. Best character in a fishing movie goes to this guy. Gotta love when the fisherman becomes fish food. Best fishing scene is in "Waterworld" where Costner uses himself as bait, trolling behind his boat.
BabyHerc Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Gotta agree with Express168 on this one: Gone Fishing with Joe Pesci and Danny Glover.
LebowSKI Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Snag, 20 mins have passed since I first read your reply and I'm still laughing...thanks.

I read some of it on the internet and found it very interesting. I will check it out for sure. I also found a movie called Jeremiah Johnson that you may find interesting. http://videodetective.com/default.asp?fram...ublishedID=1778
