What do you say when you hook a fish?

"THERE'S ONE."

tone of voice would depend on the size.. Every once in a while I'll say it while I'm setting the hook on a bruiser and I'm told it sounds like I'm riding the porcelain bus and i'm having some problems.. Other times it's more bassy like Barry White.. ooohhh baby.

Good thread!!

if its been a slow day then..... There's one about time!!

If it is the first cats of the day.....were going to kill em today......then 3 hours later you inevitably catch the next one.

If its been a hot bite for me then ........ Hey you want to reel this one in ( to my partner)

If I get just a "bump" while carp fishing I usually use British Steve's "C'mon take it...take it" and rub my fingers together...

During the first big run it's usually "WHOA...Easy does it there Charlie Brown" or "Hey...this one's got shoulders"...

Depends on what im fishing for...

trolling superior with riggers "hey hey hey",

summer walleye "nice one"

winter if its a tip up, i usually hollar loud enough when im running for the whole lake to hear "tip up", or if im jigging and i get one, i will say "put on your (lure on the line), he's using a (lure on the line)"

all of which has ton of foul language. i really have to watch myself sometimes.
