  1. Those are some nice largies there. Have to try the weedless frogs around lily pads thing it looks productive. As others said your daughter looks like a sweetiepie! Nice post, ehg
  2. If they say there is 1.4 billion text messages a month at 15 cents a message they could rake in 2.5 billion dollars from this in a year at that rate. Any rationalization about this other than more profit is crap doublespeak.
  3. I read about this lake a long time ago and was left with impression that walleye were the main species targeted. Seemed like both bass species were there as well as pike, oddly lake trout and cisco might be there with panfish maybe crappie. Swore i read about musky there but that was a long time ago. Sounds good anyways, ehg
  4. Changed to Primus about 2 1/2 yrs.ago still paying 44.95 for home phone, high speed DSL and long distance. Think it has gone up to 59.95 for this bundle but i'm still paying this much. Bell peeved me too much. Think i'm saving alot anyways. ehg
  5. Lots of thunder/lightening in downtown T.O right now. Just started raining hard and gusty, but no warnings yet.
  6. Thanks for the great read! Took almost 45 minutes to read but worth it. Excellent writing and great pics; from James Bay muskeg, arrival at camp, non-stop big walleye and pike, the departure, to great pics of Hells Gate/ Thunderhouse Falls, all quality and quantity. You should get paid by Field and Stream, OOD, etc... for this great stuff. Thanks for taking all the time creating this post. ehg
  7. That is some good musky fishing. After 20 yrs + of fishing same area (north to east of Big Island) 47 + inches is my best up there. Others talked of catching muskies above 50 inches, but now i believe they are there. Two 50 inch fish in a week or so is incredible up there. Great stuff, ehg
  8. That's a big gar for Ontario looks fairly chunky as well.
  9. It's hard to get that close to any bird let alone a Bald Eagle in the Kawarthas. Great musky story as well! Thanks for sharing. ehg
  10. There is no limit or closed season on white bass in Ontario. They aren't caught often enough or really that widespread. They can get to few lbs. but mostly they are 7- 10 inches around creekmouths of the Great lakes. Here is one my fishing buddy caught. They don't get much bigger. ehg
  11. The link i saw for Canadian record was 2.24 lbs, didn't see this 2.71 lb record. Oh well, that is still a once in lifetime huge crappie, anyways.
  12. I would still get it weighed somewhere 'official', seeing that the Canadian record is 2.24 lbs. 2lbs. 4ounces is 2.25 lbs, if the fish weighs that or more it is a record. If it weighs more on certified scales get it witnessed. Why not if you've gone this far?
  13. Nice smallies and big catfish, congrats. Going out fishing with your kid as well and catching decent fish is the best! Thanks for sharing, ehg
  14. Has this board lost its way? I've been here for 5yrs. or so and now there is so much traffic a post usually gets buried after 12 hours as opposed to 5 days or so back in time. Bought a digital camera a few yrs. ago and fish alot so i'll post reports when possible, good ,bad or ugly. Fishing reports w/ pics seem to be the heart of this board and still is. A few yrs. ago some folks were complaining similarily and usually received a ' don't let the door hit you in the a.s .s on the way out' reply. But whatever, at it's center it's only a 'fishing messageboard'. ehg
  15. No matter what that is a Canadian record white crappie! Like others said get it weighed on 'official' certified scales, witnessed and the weighing photographed. The sooner the better as they shrink in captivity or when dead. Awesome and congrats! ehg
  16. That is a real good size smallie you caught. The bass which the osprey caught looks about the same size.lol Read before that Osprey weigh about 4 to 4.5 lbs and generally catch fish 25% their weight. Occasionally they try for fish near their own weight (like that one). That's a rare sight. Great photos and report! Thanks, ehg
  17. Thanks for the great report! Excellent pictures and the videos are a nice extra addition. When i was a kid Wabigoon was famous for musky fishing, ever hear about folks catching muskies? Congatulations on the wifes pregnancy as well. Great effort. Thanks, ehg
  18. Go to the east side off Liverpool Rd. bridge and travel along south shoreline. At different times of year different species are caught. Simple worm, hook and splitshot will get bullheads now at least.
  19. Another great report Johnny Bass. That crappie is huge and the bass ain't bad either. The Head River connects Lake St.John and Dalrymple together there is big crappie in both.(and perch) Must be crappies and big perch in Head Lake as well. But fishing almost takes a backseat when you have a fine woman in boat with you! Great report, ehg
  20. You'e best bet is off Liverpool Rd. by bridge. There is parking lot to the north of bridge. Where the water empties into L. Ontario i caught smallmouth on 1/16 oz. jig w/smoke grub. Would jig real tight to metal retaining wall at slow pace with chunk of worm on grub/jig. Would have to go to deeper part up by bay. Hope that hleps, ehg
  21. Great pictures and story, thanks for the effort in posting. ehg
  22. That has to be a 50+ inch fish, biggest ive seen in 25 yrs up there. At least you got the picture! Great fishing... ehg
  23. At least you caught a bass there. Kinda urban fishing. Maybe you were being watched by some druggie teens who thought you were an undercover cop pretending to fish but were afraid you were going to steal their dope?
  24. That's a real nice tiger musky and a decent bass! Will it count for tourney as Musky?
  25. Many years ago i would catch white bass at L. Ontario creek mouths at this time of year. Caught perch, sunfish, rock bass as well at this time. The white bass liked real small spinners with bit of worm on it. Cheers, ehg
