  1. Another great day up there for youse Congrats on the 52" incher. Gotta try bigger baits and deeper waters up there sometime. ehg
  2. There seems to be alot of big bass caught the last few days....wow Sometimes i've spoken of that bass your brother caught if folks are talking of big bass in Ontario. Your girlfriend caught caught a huge one there, looks over 6 lbs. Nice going there Bill!
  3. Some nice bass there Patrick.. Looks like a decent day, ehg
  4. Great pile of fish and excellent report with good details. Like the big water as a background. Have to look into getting a boat L. Ontario worthy, that looks much better than being shoulder to shoulder on a L. Ontario creek. Thanks for sharing, ehg
  5. Hi i live in downtown Toronto here is a few points to enlighten, 1. the highest violent crime rate in Canada is in Saskatchewan( then Manitoba, but all out west) 2. violent crime is at it's lowest rate in 25 yrs. in Canada Nothing like a Holdfast post to bring out the knee-jerk misinformed reactionists.
  6. Nice report Family fun and some real good fish caught there. Pigeon lake always coughs up something decent. I've noticed more jetski's and wakeboarding and less fishing happening there last few years. Probably helps us fisherpeople with catching. Great stuff, ehg
  7. Whatever happened to Steve from Hamilton? Newbie to 'know it all', now what? Don't PM me to avoid lurkers. Ughh
  8. Great post and excellent pictures.(first one is great) Good to see that ego hasn't stopped you from sharing with others. ehg
  9. It seems to be in Pickering/ Ajax eastward looking at the radar. Look out Bowmanville Coburg etc...
  10. That's a big walleye for Chemong! Congrats on the fish, sounds like an exciting catch. ehg
  11. Jigger, i think this board has so increased in post volume the last couple of years that it is harder for a post to stick around for good comments. But to answer your question "Why post?", i'll post just because i have a digi camera and it's an easy way to share my fishing story if anyone cares. I'll try to share lures, depths, methods if i can remember. Kinda like In-Fishermen or Fish n' Canada back did before internet. Not worried about lurkers, as well i've done posts showing backgrounds, methods, lures etc... went back to these places and found no one there, i was almost peeved no one took advantage of advice. Anyways keep posting, if you please, but don't expect much; however some will be thankful of your goodwill in sharing. ehg
  12. Great pictures of the little critter. Thanks for the heads up. Found that poison ivy isn't good for wiping either. ehg
  13. Great fish! Read once that Lac Seul muskies have the highest rate of growth of anywhere due to shorter feeding seasons, and abundance of forage. What a great trip that must be. Thanks for post, ehg
  14. Great report! That's quite a few fish for an area known for trophies. That is a big smallmouth as well. Actually the moon SET at 4:30 pm which accounts for the sudden burst of musky activity, if you believe in moon phases this could support that theory. Thanks for sharing, ehg
  15. Great report and a bevy of nice fish Those Atlantics are permanently out of season but you can keep one if caught in L.Ontario and have sport license. Nice going, ehg
  16. I remember 4- 5 yrs. ago i think kgeary(anglerskingdom) did a post on these silver pike. Apparently there is a lake or two south of Nungesser where they are more common. So they are termed 'silver pike' some colour variation from a Northern Pike. ehg
  17. Some how this Bakelite situation is overtaking a more serious health(and fishing related) occurence in Port Hope. In Port Hope, Cameco has leaked radioactive materials from uranium tailings as well as arsenic, into the ground and harbour for last 60 yrs. This stuff has been found on public beaches and in peoples yards. Many folks there are getting sick. Cameco is loaded with cash and doing little. Luckily i've never fished the Ganny or ate a fish from L. Ontario and never will. Thats uranium tailings under that tarp by homes and playground.
  18. You should be alright with that rod, reel and line for bass up there. I would recommend bass spinnerbaits and topwaters up there in that weedfest. If you get an incidental musky be careful, they are nasty. They fight like pike on steroids. Good luck with your gig tonight and the weekend fishing. As per usual evenings and mornings are best fishing. cheers, ehg
  19. Welcome to Ontario, the best answer to your question is in this quoted post below. I would recommend just sticking with Centre Island, bring weedless bass tackle it might work if you fish there. Also if your in east end check out Ashbridges Bay. There is parking, a nice beach (Kew beach), an area to walk your dog and decent pike, bass fishing if you put in the time and effort. The bay near where it empties into Lake Ontario has been decent at times. Hope this hleps, ehg
  20. That boat should be pretty good once cleaned up. It's a Thornes aluminum, they are great for cutting through the water and waves for their size. Had a 1961 12ft. Thornes that lasted me 27 yrs. before it leaked too much.(same boat in pics by Cudz) If its a 15 fter you should be good for 25 hp for max. rating. Enjoy. ehg
  21. Nice detailed report and great quality photos as usual. Must be some type of 'guerilla marketing' subliminal messaging going on since i was speaking of wacky rigging senkos on Saturday as well. Cool and unexpected meeting youse up on Pigeon Saturday, we did alright with old standby topwaters(not senkos) that day as well. cheers, ehg
