  1. Bigguns. It's a fishing magazine, isn't it?
  2. Finally got my team in. Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racin', boys!!
  3. After the Monster got hit in the head is when Wilson should've called a time-out. Poor Gustavsson was probably seeing 3 pucks. But, most importantly is Brian Burle's tragic loss of his son. My condolences....
  4. I was disappointed on Sunday morning when I found out Juan Pablo's team didn't make it through the night in the Rolex 24. Cool pic!
  5. I've not been following for the last few years, for various reasons, with one of them the COT, but with the rules changes putting more emphasis on drivers, I think I'm back.... I still have to sign up, & I will, just not tonight. I'll be there though... The number one reason I think I'm interested again, was a recent blast from the past I had. I had heard about the Canadian Motorsports Expo at the International Centre on Raceline Radio, & that Ron Fellows & Matt Kenseth were both going to be there, & I'm an autograph junkie, so with nothing planned, I decided to go. First though, I rumbled through old photo albums from my trips south for the races, & came up with some gems, so it was off to WalMart for 8x10 enlargements, & off to the show I went. Not even being a Ford, Roush or Kenseth fan, I couldn't find a picture I could get signed, BUT, I did find this one, that Kenseth somehow found his way into...btw, when Matt signed this, he took a hard look at it, & I think Dale's car broke his focus on signing autographs... He looked at me & said "whoa, that's an old one", & I pointed out that it was 2000, going by the rookie stripes on his back bumper! He actually thanked me, & then threw in this... Being 2000, that would've been the last full season for #3, & I'm sure it got him, you could just see it. Nice guy, Matt Kenseth, even though he's a Roush/Ford driver... Swheneways, the real auto I wanted was Ron Fellows. He's also a proud Canadian & one could argue he's the most decorated racer in Canadian history, with wins in the Daytona 24, Lemans 24, Sebring 12, + numerous Nascar events. I've always been a fan going back to his Mosport days. I just happened to be in Watkins Glen, NY in 1997 when he beat ALL the Nascar guys at their own game in a Craftsman Truck, & had the 8x10 signed as well... He told me about that day, stuff that wasn't in the press, & now I can share the story with the pic. Cool! When the line was pretty much over, he asked if I had anything else, I guess he'd seen inside my binder, so he signed 2 more of my 8x10's, both from the '98 Bud @ The Glen where he started 42nd, & finished 2nd, behind Jeff Gordon... The nice guy he is, asked me if I'd like one of his pictures.....ummmm, yeah, ok... So, I spent the rest of the afternoon checking out DIRT cars, Cup cars, sprint cars, the works, & after watching a few hours of this weekends Rolex 24, I think I've got the bug again. Yeah, I'll be setting up a team. I haven't much idea about who's been on top lately, 'cept JJ, but I'll figure it out. It'll just be fun watching again. Thanks for setting it up, Dan...
  6. Great idea, & kudos to Innisfil Township for recognizing a good cause. My parking fee will be added to my registration fee as well.
  7. One of the thing's people look forward to is the annual online auction. Are we going to do that this year? I think some people want to help, but can't get out there for the day. but participating in the auction gives them a way to help, without getting cold... Thoughts?
  8. I use the phrase often on message boards, but never in person.
  9. Congrats to the American's on the well deserved win in a great game. I think this really helps hockey worldwide. I think we can agree that most countries are making strides in producing better hockey players, none moreso than the American's. Now that it's once again been proven that we CAN be beaten, I think the world will turn things up another notch. And being beaten tonight only adds more drama for next years tournament. Instead of 'Going for 7' in every broadcast or news report, the headlines will be leaning towards Canada winning back the Gold, on American turf. Can't wait...
  10. I think the boys have had about all the surprises needed to ensure they come out & play a hard 60 minutes of high-speed, high-pressure hockey. They've faced a couple good teams now. If anyone was to say they weren't feeling any pressure, they'd be mistaken. Ryan Ellis had a much better game today, but as someone who's seen him play in a Windsor Spitfires (pffft!!) uniform a few times, I can guarantee that wasn't him on New Years Eve. That's just one player too. Not to mention the Quest for 6. Nobody wants to be on the team that breaks the streak...
  11. International rules aren't as lax as those in the CHL, or even US college. International refs have to call it by the books or they don't work these tourneys any more. Some hits on the OHL are legal whereas the same in IIHF tourneys are not. No biggie really, I think the refs have done well so far. I'd like to see the Swiss goalie in an OHL uniform.
  12. Having never fished out of Sibbalds, I'll also show up in Innisfil. I might only target Perch, so I'll be in it just for the fun & to help support the Tyler g2g. Unless the Laker & Whitey guys get skunked.... It'll be awesome for Mo to get it going again next year, & it'll probably be easier for her if we keep it going this year. In other words, when the official Tyler Tourney gets going again, it won't be like starting from scratch.
  13. Congrats Brian, Happy New Year Gramps!
  14. The rest of the world's catching up, but none moreso then the Americans. They are a team to be feared for so many reasons. Having said that, I think Canada came out like a slug because they had to play 3 games against lower level teams & weren't used to a fast paced game. And if you think this was interesting, just wait until Ryan Miller hits the ice in the Olympics. If the rest of Team USA can just keep pace & hang on, he just might be enough to take them to a medal game, kinda like the Devils do with Brodeur...grab a goal or 2 & hope the goalie stands on his head. Can't wait...
