  1. Great report and nice fishes! Quinte coughs up nice walleye even in the spring. Excellent report!
  2. Wow, i live right by there and for the first time in 10 yrs. i stopped by with my daughter and watched that game. Liked watching a pro game while sitting in the grass, my 6 yr old daughter loved it. Didn't know Bob Feller and Juan Marichal were there. The daughter wants to go next Sunday at 2pm she enjoyed the experience so much! Strange that you posted this after my first time watching there. Cool pics The Juan Marichal pic is awesome.
  3. Being out there at that spot in a boat, at this time of year, is absolutely the best T.O piking. Congrats on the success! Great report, ehg
  4. Nice to get your daughter out for some crappie and other panfish! Scugog has only had crappie slowly for less than decade now. Not bad size ones though.
  5. WTG on the first laker Like the boats buzzing around pictures as well. Looks like you had a great day with your sleepy son
  6. Welcome to the board! My favorite type of fish caught on my favorite type/colour of lure for them. Congrats and welcome again!

    nope

Nice pile of fishes caught by youse there! Those bows, as others have said don't look like typical steelhead, but gave some fine fillets. Did you do the southeast asian stir fry/stew with them? Awesome fishing!
  8. Some nice steelies there Paulus
  9. Had a friend put 8lb Fireline crystal on a spinning reel, the stuff became twisty and knotted to easy. The red PowerPro is excellent on spinning and baitcasting reels. I've noticed it 'disappears' under low light conditions when i had to tie a knot near dark. Probably less visible the deeper you fish. Good luck!
  10. Your cousins fish is a once in a lifetime fish. Simply incredible catch. Looks like a great speck lake you found. The fish you caught is post worthy on its own! Formidable!
  11. That is a big Brook Trout! Well worth your effort. Congrats on that amazing fish
  12. Wow, that's pretty nice for right in your backyard. That last brookie looks to be a decent size.
  13. That is a real fine resident brown trout there
  14. Looks like a successful day there Bill! Those dark brookies look great. Gotta love beating the crowds, catching beauty fish and being immersed in the full outdoors. Thanks for posting this
  15. Was under the impression that it opened Saturday the 25th. You can catch suckers on worms in any pool (especially if you can't see bottom). Why not try/cast all that tackle you got at the harbour?
  16. Great link! Bookmarked that website for many other things as well. Pretty relaxing bird chirping sounds are driving my cat crazy.
  17. If you want to drive farther probably Shining Tree/Gowganda is a good area. Not sure of what camps are there but have seen good reports over the years from the area. Seems like walleye and pike are quite abundant up there. Here is a link going on now, or just use search function. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31009
  18. I'll be trying the headwaters for brookies to beat the crowds. Gonna have an eye open for morels in the nearby woods.
  19. That is what i was thinking Bill, a treble is considered one hook. Apparently a treble could cause less damage to a fish as it doesn't get swallowed as deep. Interesting article on that here.... http://www.gordellis.com/articles/tips_02.htm
  20. That is what i was thinking 'walk the dog' bass topwaters. Storm chugbugs are good and cheap for a popper, Jitterbugs are effective as well. Get a trailer hook for your spinnerbaits and add a pork strip to the back and your rockin'.
  21. Wow! That is brutal Jamie. Tough enough catching a big musky in a kayak, then having it thrash while a musky size hook is embedded in your hand is insane.
  22. If you release all fish caught and use single barbless hooks and no live bait you should have no problems. I was led to believe a treble with barbs pinched constitutes a 'single' hook. You just can't keep any fish north of Old Baseline Road etc... but season does open this upcoming Saturday. Nice browns there too Wallacio!
  23. You can use spinning gear to catch trout there as well. Like was mentioned size #0 or #1 mepps spinners or similar sized Panther Martin spinners work pretty good. Just pinch down barbs if regulations call for it in the area. You probably would need waders and have to walk the river to find pools and riffles holding fish. They could be anywhere there. Here is a nice brookie from last spring in that area. Held nearly vertical as was caught along a sandbank.
  24. April 25 th can't be here soon enough! Lots of crappie in Scugog now they will be in shallow bays and inlets ready to hit those microtube/ float set ups. Good luck this season, ehg
  25. Rallying a cry of re-sentiment(resentment) is the oldest trick in the book in bringing violence upon a scapegoated species. Luckily in this thread it is cormorants not humans of different race and colour.
