  1. a friend attended a concert in Kingston the other day and said she was floored by the performance. Apparently he was doing a lot of songs never done in concert before. He performed this tune fore first time in concert. Great campfire type of song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzTR2AksX0c...PL&index=21
  2. Wow, great catching looks like an amazing outing. Certainly a day to remember. Wondering how the carp fought on the float rod setup?
  3. Welcome to Toronto when you get here! You will find that Toronto islands has many fishing options to be explored, and you will be ideally located for quick access to the ferries to get there. Many people fish for pike there but carp are also a fish targeted often. Try using the search function on the board here and you will find lots of info for fishing that area. Rapala husky jerks or x-raps are popular choices for pike there. Use of a flourocarbon leader is also a good choice. An avid angler from the U.K participated on this board during his stay. Here is a link to his experiences. Good fishing! http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...ult_type=topics

    SNAKES(nf)

Nice little story there GCD! This snake catching is great fun for the kids as long as their not scared. I did have to handle these snakes first, sometimes these Gartners are a little snippy.
  5. Wow very impressive photography! The photos of birds(waterfowl) is real exceptional. The Northern Pintail pictures are especially well taken. Not really certain, but that bird could be a golden-crowned sparrow. Great photography!
  6. Those are some big channel cats there! Congrats on the catches.

    SNAKES(nf)

Went with my father who came over this weekend to look for snakes again, found a bunch! If you look closely the snakes defecating, my daughter thinks that's funny. LOL
  8. Looks like you had a successful and satisfying few days. Thanks for taking the time and effort putting this fantastic report together. You can tell in the release shot a little better that it is a huge bow!

    SNAKES(nf)

We actually found a Dekay's snake today and was surprised at how puny it was. My daughter loves this outdoor stuff and being able to share her joy with this is the best. Can't wait for her to cast a spinning reel she is still at the Barbie rod/reel for panfish stage, but i love that too. cheers, ehg
  10. Seeing that most fishing is limited until end of the month, went out looking for snakes and enjoying the outdoors anyways. My 6 yr. old daughter loves this and is great at finding them. Couldn't believe how many she spotted. Nice way to start the Easter weekend.
  11. Incredible report! You are a lucky man to be there. Thanks for the mammoth and spectacular report. How big is this pike?
  12. 1. Disposable Heroes 2. Battery 3. One This thread is making me feel my age.
  13. Great painting! You really have a definite painting style. Agree with the 'Stairway to Heaven' theme. Would be nice to see that brook trout painting in your avatar in large size.
  14. Nice day for a drive, you got to see them big walleyes amongst the trees as well. Really like this picture of the ice piling up from the wind pushing it on the east shore.
  15. Hey Bill, no offense but those fish i posted are 100% Atlantics. Didn't want to catch them i wanted brookies, they were from Lake O trib headwaters.
  16. Way back in the mid - 1980's i remember hitting into smolt Atlantics, not intentionally, while fishing bows in Wilmot. Others were catching them as well. Was thinking that would lead to higher mortality from stresses of angling. Still hitting Atlantics on tribs when brookie fishing headwaters. This has to be not good for them. Maybe pen raising would help avoid some of this and bring more success to Atlantic re-introduction.
  17. That is a superb looking big pike. Thanks for posting it!
  18. Not exactly bunch of young guys but they have all rocked in the past. Sammy Hagar -61 yrs. old Michael Anthony-54 yrs. old Joe Satriani - 52 yrs. old Chad Smith - a young 47 yrs. old
  19. Some nice browns there. You must have been the only boat out there.
  20. April has to be the worst month for fishing. Can't wait till most waters open up again like Kawarthas or upper tribs.

    yep

Nice lakerfest there again Raf! Not sure of recipe used but lots of ginger and garlic helps the asian cuisine. Just mince it and throw it in when sauteing onions etc.... Also throwing in a tsp of cumin seeds at that time ain't bad. Oddly crumbled feta halfway through could kick it up a notch. Agree.... Gotta try that recipe with that GB musky meat
  22. Caught my PB walleye of 16 lbs through the ice there many years ago. Simcoe grows some huge walleyes! Closing the season on March 15th really will help the population of walleye there.

    yep

Real fine bunch of lakers! Nice gourmet touch on the fish 'fry'
  24. Thanks Pam, Good eye it kinda reminds me of a magic carpet as well. Just was trying to put down strong colours, took me over 40 hours to paint it. Tried a Van Gogh copy as well which took about an hour to do. Thanks for further inspiration Pam! Outdoor related or fish paintings are my goal.
  25. Nice big crappie your GF caught there! Those halibut are huge as well, you gotta go give that a try. Thanks for posting, ehg
