  1. Congrats on the engagement there Fidel! Didn't look like fishing was the top priority on the trip but fascinating report all the same. Maybe i will run into you again down by the harbour one day despite all the life changes. Again congrats!
  2. Have not fished pike seriously for years but use to fish around Toronto a lot in the spring. Used a boat and trolled deep diving rapalas slowly with good results. Was named 'Pike angler of the year' for a couple of years by Canadian Sportfishing after a couple of trips down to Toronto Harbour in each late March some years ago. Days of a couple of dozen fish in the 35-43 inch range were happening then. Now i rarely fish. All the same day buddy caught first fish of day before the sun broke out and fish really started slammin'
  3. Nice fish! Good thing you know how to handle these properly, that fish might one day grow to near record size. That body of water is growing huge muskies. Thanks for posting.
  4. Nice to get some muskies despite the heat. Good job all around!
  5. I didn't think there was huge musky in Nipissing, the last few years have seen many caught. That is good. Obviously this fish was caught incidentally by a non musky fisherperson, so he was lucky. 20 years ago that fish would have been on shore dead. Seems like landing and releasing edumacation is trickling into the general public.
  6. Nice sturgeon! That must have been a surprise. Hopefully they will be coming back, slowly as it may be.
  7. Bald lake has muskies and largemouth in good numbers. The muskies aren't the biggest but the largemouth are a good size. You might need a medium weight rod with 20# + line to yank fish out of the weeds. Try on the edges of weeds towards deeper water. Topwaters will probably be good up there early morning or evening. It is very weedy up there, so finding open pockets would be a good choice.
  8. Seems like wherever you go and whatever fishes you catch, somehow gets turned into an epic report. Looks like a great time was had and tons of fish were caught. Nice fishing report again!
  9. WOW! That is an incredible video of a monster fish. When the fish was turned so you saw its back, i was reminded of the Barbosa fish from over a decade ago. Kudos to your buddy on the great catch and release of a fish of a lifetime. That fish must be 57-58 inches long, i guess.
  10. Real nice chunky Pool musky! It's tough landing musky when alone.
  11. Nice report Cliff! Good to see things are going well, your daughter is doing great and some big walleye are being caught. Good stuff, ehg
  12. Two weeks at Pigeon with family can't be beat. A couple of muskies caps it off nicely!
  13. Mixture of escape through fishing and real life stories, thanks for sharing. Seems to be a tough year for many on different fronts, including fishing.
  14. Tomorrow i planned a day of fishing for the first time in a long while. All i plan to do is throw topwaters for bass, maybe i will troll for muskies for a few minutes.
  15. After reading your post and knowing you have a young child from posts in the past, there is no question i would stay in Ontario for the child's sake. Unless you really need to go....
  16. Have fished the Rouge at this time of year just above the 401 and caught lots of smallmouth bass and some perch on small spinners. Actually did this a few times years ago, but probably still fish in deeper pools around bends. Same thing at Duffins around Hwy 2. Good Luck!
  17. Really healthy looking fish Pigeon is a excellent lake for muskies. I've caught a few up there as well. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Very nice contribution to this site Mike! Really like your family type reports. I'm envious of your skillz, dude.
  19. That last picture is an excellent photo of a blue heron. Thanks for posting these.
  20. Very nice walleye there SNAG/Grant! Possibly some big ones around seeing they spend time in Lake Ontario. Have to try fishing down there again sometime. Cheers, Erik
  21. You can use the search function and type in 'Rondeau' and will get some past reports and tips. Most regular contributors are probably away this weekend, but few really fish this area on this board. Never fished there but spinnerbaits, weedless frogs and jerkbaits like x-raps probably work for the pike and bass in area.
  22. That's a cool catch, i would be the opposite of disappointed with that!
  23. Great report, nice size and plenty of fish
  24. Musky in New Bruswick! Very nice, eh
  25. Looks like you timed your trip right. Lots of fish, including that huge one!
