  1. Avery thoughtful tribute!
  2. A friend of mine designed a system to fit inside his vehicle at the roof line. If I remember correctly he had a piece of plywood with large holes drilled through it to place the handles in and a second piece with smaller holes for the tips. he secured these with " L " brackets screwed into the plastic molding at the roof line. Seemed to work great for him, but my wife said no way.
  3. That water looks nice for steelheading in the fall and spring.
  4. To turn your fly reel into a center pin you have to remove every thing inside. When you put it on a rod put an elastic around the handle of the rod and stretch it to the handle of the reel.
  5. It seems a shame to me that we always learn about the harm that some chemicals cause only after using them for many years. Should we not test these chemicals before we allow there use in our country.
  6. Great report! Living on the edge of a lake must be rough.
  7. I do not like Bell's Consumer Help line either. Perhaps they have to locate off shore because they can not find Canadians willing to work at the call center. We have to import workers in the agriculture industry to harvest crops because Canadians would rather collect welfare or a disability pension than work at a job that they feel is not good enough for them.
  8. Bound to be smarter than my dog!
  9. The Windsor waterfront would be my guess.
  10. Nofish4me thank you for posting your link I enjoyed watching the episodes on the computer.
  11. It is a shame they banned fishing in parks paid for and maintained by tax payers. Is this a case of slob fishermen leaving their garbage behind for others to clean up ?
  12. I've heard that ice fishing for walleye is good there during the ice season.
  13. You are correct, your son will not be able to match that catch during his fishing life time. Congratulations!
  14. Thanks for posting the moth pictures, I've never seen moths that large. It looks like you have a great cottage set up as well.
  15. Thanks for considering me but there is no possible way to get me into any type of boat at the present time.
  16. On the Thames river south of London I caught 6 walleyes on 9 casts, which only took about 15 minutes. I returned home , picked up my steelhead gear and went to the mouth of the Maitland River and fished until dark without a single hit.
  17. A very generous offer, I would likely go if I wasn't confined to a wheelchair ( only for a few more months).
  18. I cannot imagine trying to fish off those rocks at night. One slip or a big wave could cause you to loose your balance ,then if you hit your head on a rock you are toast.
  19. Places selling liners for pools may have products for repairing small slits in vinyl. I would likely use electricians tape or duct tape or book binding tape.
  20. I have never found a great solution to the may fly hatch .I've tried small tubes and hair jigs and small twister tails as well as flies, but I have not been able to consistently catch fish on a day to day basis. I think it is the toughest time of the year to catch anything.
  21. You are definitely braver than me then.
  22. Glad for you and your family that you were taken on and off the temp. position. It shows that you are a hard worker and worthy of your new companies commitment to you. Ther are too many people who would have claimed a disability and not gone to the temp agency. Once again congratulations!
  23. Nice looking water, braving the skitters ypu deserved more. The walking doesn't look easy either.
  24. Hang in there Gordy and eventually you will catch them. It is hard to tell why you are not catching them without seeing the way that you are fishing your spinners , kiwkfish, and roe. Don't be afraid to ask anglers you encounter on the river if they can spot anything wrong with your set up or the way that you are presenting your offerings. Most anglers are nice enough to take the time to help you out. If you encounter the other type of angler don't get discouraged and remember that you don't want to get to know that person anyways. Seeking advice from more knowledgeable anglers could lead to new friendships and fishing partners. The most common mistake made with kiwkfish and spinners is retrieving them to quickly.
