You are allowed to fish the Harbour front . Some anglers fish there regularly and post many pictures of the pike that they catch.

Seeing your fish bring back many pleasant memories of catching pinks on a few Erie Tribs. Like you we never kept any , but enjoyed the challenge. We always thought they ran every other year, but we didn't always time it right. Congratulations on your catch and thanks for the memories.

The way I was taught to hold my reel was to hold the rod with my thumb and forefinger place my next finger on the line and my last two fingers on the back of the reel . I look at others and say ,that looks more comfortable than the way I hold it, but when I try it ,it feels weird and I revert to my original method.

I agree that say a 12lb. mainline coupled with an 8lb. leader would be a much improved set up for salmon.

I hate it whenever I hear that a pet has been injured. Some people do not respect other peoples property . Throwing trash, breaking bottles, destroying signs ,etc. seem to be on the rise which implies parents and educators need to do more to curtail these acts. I hope your dog recovers quickly and doesn't suffer any more pain.

I think that you are wrong when you say ,"I'm pretty sure I have the right to not let the MNR into my house ". As I understand it they have the legal right to search your vehicle or your house without a search warrant, giving them more power than the police.

Some times Trout Farms have ponds stocked with bass. Komoka trout farm near London has a catch & release bass pond that you can pay to fish with single barb less hooks. I believe that there is another located close to Sparta.

The water is so low in the Thames right now I'm surprised anyone is bothering to fish it.
