  1. Right now, ice fishing for Perch, Pike, Lake Trout and Whitefish. When the ice breaks, Steelhead, Crappie, Walleye, Musky ... then Bass. For Steelhead there is a lot of pressure here in Southern Ontario, so it may be crowded for you compared to Halifax.
  2. Happened to me last year. I put it on a charger for a long time, but it did not come back. I took it into where I bought it. They sent it to the manufacturer and they revived it. It doesn't hold a charge as long anymore.
  3. Reminds me of this Rick Mercer skit. LOL! http://www.cbc.ca/player/Shows/Shows/The+Rick+Mercer+Report/ID/2441559696/
  4. That's a good way to approach it. Beers on me this summer.
  5. The aroma that TheLeetAngler mentioned that occurs early in the fermentation is predominantly from fermentation with grapes/skins. If fermenting from juice, it isn't detectable unless your close. As long as your wife is not in the same room she shouldn't smell it at all if using juice. If you want to use grapes/skins, we do the first fermentation in the garage using heaters in the warmer fall season.
  6. I enjoyed the show. Didn't attend any tank seminars. I liked the layout this year. All the tackle stores on one side. Enjoyed being able to go to JB's, ProJ, Natural Sports and independent tackle makers (Freedom Lures, Meegs) etc. all under one roof. (Kind of like the Boat show - all the manufacturers under one roof). Found a nice deal on ice fishing rods that I'll need for my sons. Found a replacement spinner bait that I lost to a Muskie last year. Mike's Handlebarz looked really nice. I couldn't resist a Handlebarz double 10. Nice to see Meegs, DynamicBear and meeting Jeremy (fellow OFC Team 6 Team Member). Didn't get a chance to see Mike P from Handlebarz at the time I was at the booth. Nice to see a couple of other non OFC friends there as well. Nice chat and location tips with Karl Kalonka at the St. Croix booth. JP Derose was at the Shimano booth and available to chat. Got some baitcasting skipping tips for other Pro Staff. Thanks to Chris K. for the fly casting lesson in the casting lane (brought my fly combo for this reason). Not only is Chris a master fly maker, he's a great caster and teacher too. Excited to put my lessons to work.
  7. Cliff, I feel for you and Sue. Wish her the best.
  8. How do your eyeballs not freeze in temps like that?
  9. Propane Heating costs this year are way more reasonable than last year. Hope this trend continues.
  10. I fished Gilford last weekend with my little guy. Lots of small perch. Only one was 9 inches.
  11. ... and Sail has 20% all ice fishing stuff and 15% off all other fishing stuff until the 8th.
  12. I take mine to Robinson's for maintenance every year and happy with them.
  13. This is a really well done parody. Excellent performance, song and lyrics. Sums it up perfectly. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0iZDSsUTU34
  14. Manitoubass2, Gord Pyzer uses a 5" 1/2 ounce swimbait for Walleyes. This lure is smaller than that. Those Kamooki's look sweet.
  15. James, at what booth will your jigs be?
  16. Great feedback. Thanks again. It has helped in making my decision and I'll buy with confidence.
  17. Excellent review Mike thanks. Saw your post when you bought it. I just missed the sale back then. Thanks for the update on your experience. Any issues with condensation? Hey Brian if you have the 3i and are going to sell it to get a flip over let me know.

  19. Was that you that I talked to at True Canadian Outdoors? We talked about the Meegs, the Vibrato and our kids. I ended up buying a Vibrato and almost immediately regretted it.
