  1. Jeremy, I've tried all methods mentioned above to get more durability out of one senko. The o-ring works to add durability but will split the senko in half eventually. Best option is to use 3/8" heat shrink tubing for the 5" senko. Cut a thin width piece (just enough to get a hook through it while maintaining one piece) to minimize the affect on action. Different sizes tubing will fit different size worms obviously. Also, to catch bigger Bass (and get us an upgrade!) using the same locations and technique, but replace the senko with a jig/trailer. You catch less but will catch bigger. It will be difficult to maintain confidence in the jig/trailer at first as you won't get many bites, but after you land a 5 plus pounder it won't be a problem after that
  2. Whenever I find myself in situations similar to that with my 10 and 7 year old watching, I am conscious of the fact that I am providing an example for my children by the way I react not the other peoples reaction. After the fact I review the incident with my kids explaining what I thought about what I did, the others reaction and why I chose to react the way I did.
  3. Pete told me you were going and was anticipating the report. Congrats on a great trip and thanks for the report Pete and Andrew.
  4. Cliff. I'm with Beans. It would be a sad day on Snug Harbour.
  5. Thanks for the report Ernie! I'm living vicariously through your report, wishing I was fishing. (Not missing the repairs though)
  6. I had the same problem. I tied a yellow rope about 14-17" high across the length of the shoreline. It worked. Not one poop drop since.
  7. I can pick up a McLobster for you on the way up.
  8. I do well with cabbage as well. I find it is healthiest in spring and is starts to die off as the weather warms up. In spring it's the only weed up high. I saw some this weekend dying off. They need to be healthy to produce oxygen. Same lures as you listed. Try fishing not so tight to the cabbage. Start tight then move out. Even as far as 50 ft away.
  9. Pete. You can kill two birds with one stone. If you are dropping off the mower, you can hop on my boat for a musky hunt. Cliff. If you've never met Pete before he is a great guy.... Like you.
  10. I don't need it. I gladly delivered it to Cliff. Any excuse to pay him a visit. I also know he believes in paying it forward.
  11. I'm a long suffering Leafs fan. Everyone is saying what a good day it is for the Leafs. I think the reason that Babcock chose the Leafs was because he wanted spring and summer's off.
  12. I would call Minnkota. They have been excellent at answering my questions when I called.
  13. That's what I was thinking too. A Yellow flashing light means its charging in Bulk or Absorption mode. Green means: Maintenance Mode. From Minnkota: When the battery reaches full charge, the charger voltage is dropped to 13.4V at 77°F. A flashing GREEN light is lit for each bank to indicate the battery is in Maintenance Mode and ready to use. After 24 hours, the charger automatically turns off and a GREEN light is lit for each bank to indicate the battery is in long term Maintenance Mode and ready to use. The charger will automatically turn on when the battery voltage drops below 12.6V. 5
  14. Great to hear. I can feel your relief.
  15. I once snagged onto a fishing line in the river. As I started to pull it out of the water I then noticed it had a float attached to it. I thought to myself, I'll get the garbage line out of the water and possibly save the float. When I got the line to my hand I felt a fish attached to it. Hand bombed and released a nice steelhead.
  16. Chris K. My place is down the street from Cliffs. Let me know when your in the neighbourhood next time. I was even at Cliffs this morning too.
  17. Nice backyard! After a follow I would try a follow up plastic bait slowly jigging it back.
  18. Welcome Nikki (and hopefully soon to Team 6). Hope you get a monster Carp! (We met at the Fishing Show briefly).
  19. Really nice to read. Thanks for posting. I love the bent rod pic as well. I have two little guys as well (maybe not so little anymore). Your little guy did very well for a long eventful day. I need a nap just reading it. My oldest is 10 now. This is the first year that I am not asking him to come fishing with me. He is asking (pleading with) me to take him.
  20. So you're naming her 'Tight lines'? I will not go Lake O fishing ... I will not go Lake O fishing ... I will not go Lake O fishing.
  21. There's a Happy Troller plate in the classifieds now in Sebastien's ad.
  22. Good read. The third picture, it looks like he's trying to show off and asking you to mate with him. Just don't tell that to the straight jacket guys.
  23. Is this off of Sturgeon Point? Where is the second picture from on the lake.
