  1. How do you guys use corn? Do you just cover a hook with corn and toss it out there?
  2. Lost the biggest musky I had ever seen in person last year. The head was massive. It seemed to happen in slow motion, I tried hard to get the fish down and swimming but she kept coming up, that massive head broke the surface about 15-20' away and after a few big head shakes threw my lure. Still haunts me to this day.
  3. Don't listen to him! Stay far away from musky, unless you enjoy spending thousands of dollars.... Nice pike! It was just a few years ago I caught my first pike, I still remember what a thrill it was.
  4. Great report! Can't beat 3 new personal bests!
  5. I use the 30D too, never had a problem with it. Even when snagging standing logs going 7-8mph lol.
  6. Wow what a beast for a first fish! Congrats on catching a 60"er too Paul!
  7. Cool find! Get chum lee to see if it fires.
  8. PM sent.
  9. Glad I got mine for 2 years in April.
  10. It's on my fishing bucket list (which keeps getting longer and longer it seems lol) to go to Lake of the Woods for their annual musky school, learn from some of the best musky fishermen around. Apparently if you want tips from the best musky fisherman around, you only need to read this forum! http://www.muskyhunter.com/musky-matters/canada-university-of-esox-school-produces-108-muskies/ Back to back years catching not only the biggest fish at the school but also the most, outfishing guys who have fished that lake for years and TEACH people about musky fishing? I'm continually amazed by how great many of the people on this forum are at catching fish. Congrats to Cowanjo, that is very very Impressive! Also notice the shout outs for Handlebarz musky lures. Not only are the members of this forum great anglers but you make great baits too!
  11. I caught my uncle's rod that he lost a year back while trolling for lakers.
  12. Didn't you just get a new boat, too? You've even got me worried lol.
  13. Impossible to tell exactly how big it is from pictures alone but it's a very big fish regardless.
  14. I've got a revo toro high speed in left hand retrieve. I don't know why they discontinued it.
  15. Yep I just turned rocks over and caught them with my hands as a kid. Have to be quick though.
  16. Sledges are my favourite musky baits.
  17. Nice catches! Got to love the fight those smallmouth put up. What's slow walleye fishing for you, 8, 9 hundred a year? lol
  18. Wow, great report. Looks amazing up there, must be so peaceful to get away from everything, except fishing of course. Too bad you'll have 50 boats on that spot tomorrow.
  19. Leaders are necessary while musky fishing, that's for sure. I use leaders for almost everything except jigging/using worms while fishing in waters that have pike and/or musky. People I fish with have gotten bit off by pike on numerous occasions because they don't use a leader. I've never been bitten off. 12" for casting, 36" for trolling for myself personally.
  20. I haven't seen one for years, either. We used to see them all the time as kids, running around with a wing dragging along the ground if you got too close to their nest.
  21. Wow, is it ever gorgeous there! Must have been hard to leave but those walleye must have made it a little easier.
  22. I've been catching plenty of largemouth in shallow water, 2-4 feet.
  23. My uncle caught one of those while trolling for lakers on Monday. A little grimy but in really good shape once cleaned up a bit.
