  1. Hey Cliff, we've never met and I don't know where you live but if you need something picked up, dropped off, moved, raked or whatever, let me know and I'll find time for you. I've had my fair share of family issues and sometimes getting one thing off your plate can help. Take care... family first.
  2. Good job ccmt and very interesting! I thought this was one for the lock down list.
  3. Someone has to do the jobs Canadians are too "good" for.
  4. Hey thanks. This spring I'll be doing some upgrades and I'll look at Marks props.
  5. Adam, I can't see myself without my Ranger but I've been looking south of the border for a second boat as a fixer upper. I'd love to find a decent Allison, Gambler or Bullet I could work on. There's seems to be lots of them but it's tricky finding one that needs work but hasn't been murdered.
  6. Hirk I wanted to start experimenting with props this summer but never had the chance. I run a 487vs with a Mariner 200EFI. No jackplate and a Trophy 23P 4 blade. I like the bite that the 4 blade gives me on Lake Erie but I know there's probably a better choice. Any suggestions on a prop choice? I've read about guys running 6" jackplates on that hull but there is already a 15" setback. What you you think?
  7. That dog is have way too much fun! LOL Awesome. I'd want to keep him close to home and out of the corn during deer season though!
  8. Bill you may be right. And Manitou, she probably would have lost her job. But amazingly enough, to this day that lady will look shoot us a cold stare and look away like WE did something wrong. I know the owner had a meeting with her at the time but it was hardly my wife's fault. It turned out to be a good case to follow Bill's motto. At least then she's have a reason to be in a snit.
  9. A couple years ago my wife spent half an hour trying to convince a pharmacy employee they under charged her by $500. The employee actually ended up getting angry and rude. We ended up calling the owner to explain what had happened and to make it right. Never worked so hard to give away money.
  10. I can't think of a lake in southern Ontario that I fished years ago and hasn't changed. Whether it be new fish introduced, dominate fish declined, changes to weed growth, water levels, etc. it just seems like it's inevitable. I sound like my Grampa! He was saying the exact same thing to me 40 years ago!
  11. I agree with Bill regarding the numbers. The few times I've seen them it's been the north end of the pool.
  12. Aha! I thought so! She woke my wife and I up last last because it sounded like a tractor trailer driving past our bedroom window. We thought Vera? Nah, she's in England. Lol
  13. I'll post a picture. The end of the shaft looks like it had some corrosion/rust on it where it broke. It must have had a hair line crack for a long time. Luckily, it broke off and sank when he fired up the motor, not while at wot. Strange one for sure.
  14. He and the kids managed to get towed off Georgian Bay. It's lousy when something goes wrong and the kids are on the boat. It appears the shaft just sheared off.
  15. Has anyone ever heard of a prop shaft just falling out? My brothers 2006 200 Optimax just spit the shaft and prop out. He finished fishing a spot, turned the key to start the motor, clunk! Gone! He was standing up still and hadn't touched the throttle/shifter. That's a new one for me.
  16. I have a seasonal routine of living in denial that winter come. I fish into December, then do the frozen finger winterizing method. As much as I hate working in the boat when it's cold out, I hate looking at a tarped up boat on a sunny 10 degree Sunday even more. I do the lower end and RV antifreeze the livewells early, but the rest has to wait!
  17. Sorry if I missed it, what reel will you be using?
  18. Awesome largies. Gotta say, I've never seen that much slop and downriggers in the same picture before!!
  19. This thread is reminding me I need a whole new door and hardware...UGH! I see dollar signs! I guess I should get it quoted as I have no idea what it'll run me.
  20. That is some beautiful scenery. Thanks for posting the pics.
  21. I came across some old lures from my Grandfather. No value other than sentimental and the appreciation for their age. Thought I'd share the pics. Sorry, I flipped the pictures and its still upside down!
  22. I've come the conclusion it's not the drive as much as what's waiting for you when you get there. You don't have to love your job but you better not hate it.
  23. Interesting views. It looks like driving an hour one way is not optimal but certainly not all that rare. I guess I need to suck it up! Haha. Thanks for the perspective guys.
  24. I've found myself in the situation of having to commute about 80kms one way to work. It takes me an hour minimum due to traffic. I'm just curious what you guys consider doable, reasonable, or nuts! I know there are factors such as where you drive and income, but I'm kinda hating this and wondering if it's just me and I was spoiled before.
