  1. Except for the polar bear thing, I'm jealous AGAIN. Have a great trip and I'll look for to the report with the pretty pictures!
  2. Good job Brian! Other than my wallet I haven't lost weight pumping gas. I should get one just for the health benefits.
  3. You should have bold typed the rest of that statement. Wow.
  4. You should re-read my post. I'm not saying it's a 24V charger, it's the companies that make them that advertise them as 12V/24V chargers. My 4 bank is advertised as 12-48 volts. THATS what causes the confusion.
  5. The confusion is in the terminology. Bill's right in saying he has a 24V charger because that what the marine industry adopted when you have two batteries connected...thus the 24V electric motor. But, at the battery level it's still only 12V each. Bill's charger cannot charge a true 24V battery. It can charge two 12V batteries connected in series for 24V total OR two 12V batteries not connected for 12V EACH. I have a 4 bank charger...36V TOTAL for the trolling motor batteries and 12V for the cranking battery. It is NOT a 48V charger in reality. Oh so Moosebunk...you can absolutely charge your batteries without disconnecting them from each other. You will have to hook up the positive and negative to only ONE battery at a time though. If you put the positive to one battery and the negative to the other you will in essence be only charging 6.5V to each. Also, I have a Motorguide digital motor and was told to always unplug it when charging. So just out of curiosity I called Minn Kota and got told the same thing. The new motors have circuit boards whereas the old motors were simple 12V wired systems. When charging, you batteries will be brought up to as high as 14.5V. This can damage the boards as the 30 or 40 amp circuit breaker is in no way going to protect against a voltage spike. In addition, it does the motor no good to have the circuit board energized full time.
  6. $18 cash for general labour? That's like making around $24 in a registered job. Things have changed, if I needed money I would have gotten out of bed for damn near anything per hour. I guess that's the answer, they don't NEED anything.
  7. Pike like them because they taste great...bass like them because they're less filling.
  8. I'm not saying this is the case with you specifically but for most people we're guilty of not preparing our bodies for the rigors of our chosen sport. Getting a treadmill or elliptical machine and training for the fishing season sounds funny but I can tell you it helps a lot. I've done it for years. For me, it began with bowhunting. I found that if I training all summer I had a much easier time with the walking, climbing and shooting during cold temperatures. Getting into your stand "sweat free" in super important. Standing in a semi-ready position balancing against wave action and moving around in the boat for 3-8 hours is not normal activity. My opinion...get active before the season and stay hydrated. You'll be way more comfortable and your heart will probably take you fishing a few extra years.
  9. They posted the square footage long before they built. This can't come as a surprise.
  10. Did you get charged any duty or taxes?
  11. You need to read the specs on that deal. Its the mini 4amp per bank charger. Not a great everyday charger. Noco's 10 amp charger in a 2 bank is $216US. The more you spend the more you'll save. And living close to the border helps!
  12. I don't know what I'm more excited about...the charger or the handy adaptor so I don't have to open the back compartment just to plug in the batteries!!!
  13. I just bought a NOCO Genius 4-bank onboard charger and a plug adaptor for 50% off. http://www.geniuschargers.com/ Promo code = SJS50 Crazy good deal.
  14. It's got to be great exercise. My grip is getting stronger by the week...from pumping gas.
  15. In-Fisherman taught F+L+P... never thought of trying P+M+S
  16. The store is 70,000sq.ft. and the stores stateside are 200,000sq.ft. plus. Canadian pricing is always nuts. = No surprises.
  17. First of all...NEVER send money through PayPal as a gift. If you do and the transaction goes bad, you will not have any recourse through PayPal. Here is what is posted on another fishing related site on the subject..."If you purchase something using PayPal and send the money as a gift if there were any kind of dispute, PayPal will not get involved....money was not sent to purchase, was sent as a gift. If you're a seller, please do NOT request that money be sent PayPal as a gift" As far as purchasing electronics, I've had good luck. I bought an HDS7, HDS8 and LSS1 from Texas. Where are you located?
  18. Trailering can also be an issue. You can get away with a lighter duty vehicle if towing an aluminum boat in that size range. The heavier glass boats require a heavier towing capacity vehicle.
  19. Komarov signs. Bill, you working for the Leafs??
  20. I agree with Komarov...but not the "that's all" part lol
  21. They tricked him...they asked if he wanted to be a star? TRADED!
