LOL Muddler's got the right idea...pick a bunch of favorite teams so to can always feel safe! No sense in over committing! Next year, my all time, absolute favorites, since I was a boy, are Chicago, Detriot, Montreal, Washington, teams with black skates, Canadian teams and any team with a Canadian player. But that's it cause the rest SUCK!!

I like the proverb about living in a glass house and throwing stones.

You're delusional comparing that wrist injury to a head injury. Lose the rose coloured glasses that have been fuelling your one sided opinion of the Sens. If Subban is the single reason Ottawa is destined for failure, they're weaker than I thought.
-
You could see how Stone's broken wrist had him on the bench all night. Lol go the dressing room just long enough to draw the major and, POOF! All better. LMAO
-
Exact same set up.

This thread just got funny! Months of shooting off at the mouth, nothing off limits. Now it's SUCK IT UP TIME!!! Hahaha. Mom! They're picking on my team!!!!! Too funny.

Another vote for two small socks versus one large. Gives you better boat control.

Any experience ordering electronics from Fishing World?
grimsbylander replied to fishnguy's topic in General Discussion
I've had two experiences at Fishing World, both not so great. First time I was in there they stood there taking verbal shots at a well known fisherman for all the weight he lost and how he must look without a shirt on. No biggie but they sounded like jerks. Second time I called looking for a Navionics chip and wanted to know what they carried. I got told they had a chip for $200 model abc123 (whatever?) I called Navionics to see what area it covered etc and the guy was a little surprised. He asked me who was selling it and for how much. He then went on to tell me that chip was never sold individually and thus never had a retail value. It was given away with the purchase of a Humminbird unit. Nice. I left multiple messages at the store requesting a call from the owner or manager. Never got the call and never went back. Maybe they have changed? -
My son got a $150 fine two weeks ago for not having registered plates on the vehicle. It's my car...it had plates with valid stickers and he showed the cop the ownership with a valid plate portion and sticker. Apparently, someone cancelled the plates in the system for whatever reason. The cop even said it was strange because you can't cancel plates without giving them up and/or giving the plate portion of the ownership back. He wrote the ticket anyway. Guiltly until proven innocent.

You never know what you'll pull through the ice.

The full run toward the open water had me as surprised as the bird. I, like the bird, am an ice chicken. -
David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Sunday that the hockey club has acquired Nashvilles first round draft pick in 2015 along with forwards Brendan Leipsic and Olli Jokinen in exchange for defenceman Cody Franson and forward Mike Santorelli. It's starting....

My opinion... To sit back and say it's the players or it's the management is far to simple. Like any business there is a multitude of critiria which work together to make it successful. Players skill, attitude, leadership, coaching, scouting, Management, etc. The teams that win are less disfunctional in less areas than teams that don't. We know when the Leafs are on the scale. This is why they are so inconsistent and the win big or lose big streaks happen. Every year there is always one team that "just needs a goalie" to be a real contender. They're lucky because all other pieces are somewhat in place. So, my opinion is we're all correct because I can't think of one area of the franchise that is nailed down. Well, other than fan base loyalty and that's disappearing at an alarming rate according to the "experts". I personally think the coaching change is warranted, not sure about the timing though. But I also think it's only one step of many that has to get addressed before real, sustainable improvement is possible. Just my two cents.

Carlyle is done. Should have zero effect.

Very nice video. That sure looks like the Leon's in St. Catharines near the new BPS. The in the video at 2:51 has to be the QEW at the Skyway bridge. -
I grew up in Grey County and there used to be a very healthy grouse population. At 15 years old, grouse and rabbit hunting was a thrill. Looks like it still is!

I just checked the stats, Toronto and Ottawa are both tenth in the league!!! Oh wait, sorry...Ottawa is tenth from the bottom!! My mistake.
-
The final score was more lopsided than the game but the Leafs sure did some serious sniper work. Kadri's goal and Kessels's first were deadly. Getzlaf was miserable all night which added to the enjoyment. I guess the dive call didn't help.

I like your explanation better.

Looks like he simply did a cut and paste from an online article. An inaccurate one at that.

My wife refers to all of them as the Cable Mafia.

You know it's BAD when Matt calls for the mercy rule. Lol Thanks Matt....Ottawa gets a bye on their next beating.
-
It's like they're playing to get rid of Carlyle.
-
I'm happy for Kessel. Given the history, he must be pumped when he has a game like that against Boston.
