Question for the tech savy Re. Windows 10
Headhunter replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
Cliff, I asked my tech the same question, should I upgrade to Win 10. His answer was quick and to the point, a resounding NO! Too many issues involved in Win 10 that have not been fully addressed. He's had a ton of business come through the door from folks who have done the upgrade, only to have major issues with compatibility and performance. I tried doning the upgrade on my two year old machine and it bombed out after three hours! My computer was a mess! Went back to my old operating system, Win 7pro and all is well again. I'm with everyone else, if it aint broke, don't fix it. HH -
Nice report and sweet shot of the soon to be consumed tasty treats. I notice that your spud looks almost identical to mine! My brother made mine years ago, I have never seen one like it! HH

I agree Terry, his post as a guide was one excellent read. The pics weren't bad either. HH -
Art, Pandora's box was kicked wide open years ago, what we are really discussing is if the government will be getting their piece of the action. One can rant all they want about it's effects, but it is everywhere and used by a great many people. It's like arguing if booze should be illegal or not, if it was, folks would be brewing and making home stills and the gov wouldn't get their piece of the pie. the gov wants their pie. HH

Well Jedi, the number of people on the roads who are under the influence of booze, pot , Rx drugs etc would probably astound most of us, except maybe FishnAutographs. Do you feel that the current laws governing pot and it's distribution are realistic and fair? I know we can't trust everyone to do the right thing, but this nanny state that the Lieberals have established is finally giving the folks in this province the ability to make their own decisions. If they are going to keep pot illegal, than based on your arguments, they should make booze illegal as well. HH

Subject: Moving To Chicago ? Bob was sitting on the plane waiting to fly to Chicago , when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking in fear. "What's the matter, afraid of flying?" Bob asked. "No, it's not that. I've been transferred to Chicago . The people are crazy there, right? Lots of shootings, gangs, race riots, drugs, poor schools, and the highest crime rate in the nation." Bob replied, "I've lived in Chicago all my life. It's not as bad as the media says. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your own business, and enroll your kids in a nice private school. I've worked there for 14 years and never had the slightest trouble." The guy relaxed and stopped shaking and said, "Oh, thank you. I've been worried to death, but if you've lived and worked there all those years and say it's OK, I'll take your word for it. What do you do for a living?" "I'm a tail gunner on a Budweiser truck." HH

New addition to the Handlebarz family

The name suits the look! Congrats and best of luck! HH -
It was a number of years ago that a buddy of mine was getting married. His best man planned a trip to Niagara Falls New York for the 30 odd guys attending the stag. We were all there when the "groom" arrived at the bar with the best man. It took about ten of us to hold him down, so the best man could attach the bowling ball and chain to his leg. We then boarded a chartered bus, that was to take us to the falls that evening. There were a number of consumables on the bus, cases of beer stacked in the aisle. Needless to say, by the time we arrived at the border, most if not all of us would have no problem admitting that we were likely over served by that point. The best man told us to behave as he was going to exit the bus to talk to the U.S. border agents. After a few minutes, four border agents got on the bus, asking to see the ball and chain. Laughs were exchanged and they sent us on our way. I know things have changed since that time, but I thought it was a funny story to pass along. HH

Thanks for sharing that Simon, I really enjoyed it. Roloff did what he was supposed to do and you guys caught some nice fish. Seems like a perfect day to me! HH

A large pepperoni pizza from Pizza Pizza has consistently worked at cleansing my body, but probably not the cleansing you are looking for. Alternatively, a bucket of chicken from Coronel- Ingus works equally well. HH

Apparently they are only allowing the sale of 1000 permits for drivers to take advantage of the HOV lane for the coming test area. So how do they determin who they make the sales to? HH

Doh! You are correct John... Cliff, take Reesor Road, first right on Finch by the zoo. It will get you to Steeles. HH -

Cliff, try this; 401 to Medowvale north, past the Zoo and then a left at the 4 way stop. I believe that is Steeles. HH -
Yes they would John, but as you know, they don't have to set up charities, they choose to... Slightly off-topic, but I heard an interview with Josh Donaldson and he mentioned that he played 3 or 4 years of baseball as a pro, before he saw a comma in his pay cheque! HH

And don't forget the tax implications that these athletes enjoy by setting up charitable foundations. HH

Lew, I fully agree with your point, that amount of money just seems ludicrous. But, for a moment, let's just look at this with an open mind. 31 mill per year is a lot of money, no doubt, but someone has to be making that money, in order to pay him that. So, if the team is generating that much money through ticket sales, TV rights and merchandising, than it seems to me that either the team and it's ownership is going to pocket the money or they can spend it on their "employees". No one goes to a ball game or watches it on tv to see the teams owners sitting in the owners box, they spend their hard earned cash to see players play and win. The money is there or they simply wouldn't pay it. From the players point of view, their "talents" are generating huge amounts of money for the league and their owners. Rightfully or wrongly, the players are asking and getting "their piece of the pie". Gottta be a really big pie! HH
