  1. That's a neat idea! I think I'll wait for the Rapala Jar and elastic combo to hit my local CTC! LOL HH
  2. G.mech, if the toe was that bad, wouldn't a trip to emerg eliminate the wait time? HH
  3. Just a suggestion... if the mixture is on the dry side, add cream to the mixture to give them an even richer taste. Also, if you like, try using ground veal and pork instead of just beef. HH
  4. There are a couple of new products available for toe fungus. Typically the creams used in the past weren't able to penetrate the nail and were pretty useless. The newer products do penetrate the nail and will kill the fungus. You will then have to wait for the healthy nail to re-grow. You don't need a referral from a doctor to see one and I know that my benefit package covers the service. As mentioned, I don't believe that OHIP covers this... HH Edit to add... if the tie is infected beyond just a fungus, OHIP will pay for treatment.
  5. Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned the 12th Fret. They have rooms of acoustic guitars to look at, at all price ranges. Location isn't the best at Woodbine and Danforth. My thinking is that if you are spending that kind of money, it's worth the time and aggravation so you don't end up with buyers regret. HH
  6. When you reference a term that only a very small percent of people would get, but to most would be seen as disparaging, then continue, you should expect to get flack for it. HH
  7. I agree with the original G! One's man's "friendly" is another man's anal orifice. Luckily, only the reader of the thread really gets to decide. HH
  8. If you know the model number you are interested in, I would make a call to them to get and idea about stock available and pricing. Save the drive time or it might make it worthwhile. HH
  9. Walter's Music in Mississauga is having a sale on Taylor Guitars. Do a Kijjij search of the GTA and you will find a link to them. Just an FYI HH
  10. X3 HH
  11. I play bass and have almost as many as I have fishing rods!!!!! I run them through a Marshall VBA400 bass amp into a Bergantino NV 6x10 cab for gigs. I have a couple other back up amps as well. RE acoustics - a friend of mine, a very good guitar player was looking for a new acoustic for his studio. He was intent on trying everything within his pretty significant budget. He tried a Martin that he liked the action on, but was somewhat blah one the tone. He found a Taylor that he loved the sound of, that he player for a good hour in the store. He then tried a Larrivve that he liked. He went back to the Martin and played it again and this time for half an hour. He owns the Martin. The Taylor he said has a sound that you appreciated immediately, but after some time was a one trick pony. The Larrivve was a good well made (Canadian) guitar and he would have bought it, but the Martin's tone was just more usable and good, that he had to buy it. Yamaha make a lot of guitar for the money as well. Good luck with your search. HH
  12. Awesome Drew! Best hour I have spent in a long time... thanks so much for putting it up here! HH
  13. You'll be fine as long as the bail spring holds out! LOL HH
  14. Now that is one good lookin pup! My brother has a dog that is blacker than black... how much more black could it be, none more black! It's really difficult to get a good pic of that dog, the all black seems to melt into a blob of black, this one above is really good! HH
  15. The rep at my MPP's office indicated that the fund generated are to be used for environmental concerns and investment in new technologies aimed at the environment I did ask specifically if the funds were going "into the big pot" but was told it is not... but since they really don't have any idea what they are doing, other than following the California/Quebec model, time will tell. HH
  16. Nice! Love the pics and thanks for posting! HH
  17. My last bill for a two month period was $620.00! 2400 sq ft house, gas furnace, gas water heater, gas bbq... That bill included Sept billing, which includes running a 1 1/2 hp pump for the pool 24x7 for the month. Can't wait for the next bill as it will include the rate hike that became effective Nov 1. HH
  18. Way to stay classy Mr. G..... HH
  19. Isn't calling someone Margie akin to swearing at them? HH
  20. It typically does if the person who's background is being checked is a native born Canadian citizen. When international checks get involved, it requires the attention of Interpol and that can get very dicey when you are checking the background of an individual who is coming from a country at war or does not have a computerized system. We are talking weeks here... HH
  21. Got the call back. It seems as though it's a little too early to be asking some questions, at least at my MPP's office. I did learn that the tax is to be geared toward industry, rather than the consumer, but in the end, so to speak, the consumer is likely to be absorbing the tax, should that industry not meet it's agreed amounts and have to pay the tax. They are using Quebec and California's examples as templates for how they are planning on implementing our Carbon Tax. They also indicated that the revenue generated, will be put toward investment into new technologies and the environment, not the big pool. I'm going to keep an eye on this and have been invited to call back should I have any further questions. HH
  22. My MPP is a Minister of two portfolios! Still awaiting a call back from her office... HH
  23. Absolutely agree Mr B! What I fail to comprehend is how my spending more for fuel, will help the environment? If the governments told us that the money raised would be put back into our economy and invested in new technology development, I could see that being of benefit to all Canadians. That's not what they are saying now though.... HH
  24. It appears as though our federal and provincial governments have decided that they will be employing a carbon tax on both industry and individuals. News outlets are reporting that individuals will see an increase in fuel costs equating to about 2-3 cents/ litre of gas sold. Don't get me wrong, I do care about the environment and the environment my children will be living in, but I fail to understand how me paying more for fuel helps the environment? Indications are that the funds raised will go towards low income families, but how exactly is that helping the environment? I have a call into my local MPP for clarification and I await a call back. Anyone have any idea how this is going to work? Is it just another tax for our cash starved governments to collect? thanks, HH
  25. I don't live in fear either, but I do have a great deal of concern for my children's future. Just look at what is happening in Europe, specifically France, Great Britain,Germany, Belgium etc.... Social and economic issues have created slums that leave their inhabitants with no future. The shear number of people and their lack of opportunity has moved their issues from their home country, into Europe. They are a few decades ahead of us regarding the number of people migrating to the west. Can we learn anything from their mistakes? What makes us here in Canada think that we will do a better job of integrating these people into our culture. Are we really smarter than the Europeans? HH
