  1. Well that kicks the crap out of my Sunday plans to try and hit the Q again... I wonder how the "Warden" would feel about fishin on Xmas Eve! LOL HH
  2. I believe that Ontario law allows you 2 weeks to back out of a contract agreement, made with door to door sales types. Buyer regret should be covered by this law. HH
  3. Sorry for your pain bud... if I can help, let me know! HH
  4. Three squares a day (I understand it's tube steak on Saturdays! yum yum) and a roomy... and something about bubbles! I hope Barby can hold out for Connie, for the next 6-7 years... I bet by the time he gets out, he won't recognize her... face all pulled back and lookin"young" HH
  5. Thanks folks! Great ideas here, appreciate you input... based on what I've read here... I'll go rivets! HH
  6. Thanks guys... yah Wayne, I googled and came up dry. I'd consider a plastic one, if it was family size, but so far, most of what I've come across are designed for individuals, not multiple riders. Thanks again for your efforts... Wayne, wanna cut a wing off one of the planes? HH
  7. I'm trying to source a toboggan for my kids for Xmas... we have a great hill near our house and I'd like to get the family a toboggan. I've been to CTC and they only have wooden ones and frankly, they are extremely flimsy. Ideally, I think I'd like an aluminum one, if they still make them ? Anyone have any recommendations? Appreciate your help! HH
  8. The Australians have just recently elected a left wing government after ten years of right wing domination. The first thing the new Prime Minister did, once taking power was to sign Australia up to Kyoto. I'm really not surprised by this, I expect to see more and more of this type of thinking coming to the forefront on a regular basis. Check out this link re: climate change... http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/global_...74.html?suckers HH PS... I vote for Cookslav!
  9. Terry couldn't have been part of that shot... the fish does not resemble a Sheep head in any way! Bahhhh! HH
  10. Welcome to the board! I am an ex-Londoner... grew up smack in the middle between Greenway Park and Springbank Park. The mighty Thames has it's virtues and is an excellent way to cut our teeth fishin! Nice Thames Walter by the way! I've caught a few of them there in my day... the river should be back to normal next spring, when they complete the Springbank Dam project and get the river back up to normal levels in the spring and summer. Take lots of pics, I enjoy seeing my old stompin grounds! HH
  11. Well, if you think what you've seen is bad, try being a musician, on the road in small town Ontario and take a look at the "accomadations" provided to the band, by the hotel owners. Coat hangers for light switches. Your actually never alone in the room, as the walls move on their own. Your cold in the room, $5.00 for an extra blanket. The worst place I was "fortunate enough" to play was a hotel in Barrie. I can't recall the name, but it was downtown, very old building and absolutely infested with "la kucaracha" (sp) to the point where bands that had played there before us, had written in black magic marker; "go ahead, get in!" on the bath tub. Not in the same class of "room" as we are discussing here, but after that life experience, I'm not surprised by very much anymore! HH
  12. Note to self, don't get called to jury duty in Wayne or Terry's geographic area! HH
  13. Hey Wayne, it worked for my a couple of years ago. At the very beginning of our first day, they asked if anyone would find financial hardship by performing their civic duty, so I went up and explained that I run my own business and in fact, have 4 people working for me and without my direction, they would be lost and in turn, so would my business. They put me on the secondary list, which allowed me to go back to work, unless and until they called me back, which they didn't. HH
  14. My cup runneth over! HH
  15. The boots that "Fisherman" linked up are the best I've ever seen. As I do most of my fishin late in the year in an open boat, I've found that boots rated at -60 or colder are the only things that will keep my feet warm out there. It's funny, but sitting in an open boat makes your feet feel that much colder as when your out on the ice, you are able to move around and get circulation going. Find boots that have a separate layer, usually honeycombed, that sits between the insole on your feet and the bottom of the boot. This will keep any moisture build up away from your feet. Regardless of what boot you buy, remember to remove the insoles after every outing and allow them to dry. As we all know, moisture means cold out there. HH
  16. A swastika in black magic marker across you forehead will get you off most times! In all seriousness, if you are self employed, you can be excused as you are the sole earner of the company and the court does not want to put you into bankruptcy to perform you civic duty. HH
  17. Different location, but last Thursday, I saw a guy on a quad, pulling an ice hut across Weller Bay in Trenton. Thought he was a little nuts, but he seemed to know where he was going! Didn't see a splash as he tore off, out of site! HH
  18. A fantastic report as usual! Thanks for taking the time... always enjoy your pics and info! HH
  19. Regardless of what others may have said, Offshore boards are far more flexible than Churches and if you follow Fang's advice, you'll never regret your choice. I have both types and will always grab the Offshores before the Churches. Just remember if your trolling in this kind of weather, to fold the flag down as water accumulating on the flag will freeze and drag the board down. As far as tattle flags are concerned, you won't need them for trout or salmon as they just about rip the board off the line! Tattles are great for spring fishin, using smaller baits and catching smaller fish. If you know how to fish boards, you'll really not need tattles unless your fishin in the spring. HH
  20. The Tundras are also having problems with the transom cracking... huge horsepower + lunatic behind the wheel = trouble! HH
  21. Perhaps he just got the bill from hius credit card for the gas he spent getting to the Quinte GTG! I know that would make my stomach turn! Get well soon... there are Crappie waiting for yah! HH
  22. Also, forgot to mention this, but as we were driving home yesterday, we watched some what amazed, as a guy on a quad, puilling and ice hut, ripped across Weller's Bay! Slightly braver than me, that's for sure! HH PS... too bad you couldn't make it FnS... definately could have used an extra pair of hands clearing that ramp!
  23. Took what was for me anyway, my last kick at Quinte today. Arrived at the ferry at 7:00am to give the launch there a go as Picton Bay is frozen almost all the way out to the cement plant, McFarlin's Conservation area is snowed in and blocked by shore ice... . Lauch is open at the ferry, however about 50 to 100ft of shore ice extends out just east of the launch. West winds were breaking that ice up and shoving it into the launch. Bring a spud and some good luck if your planning on using that launch and personally, I wouldn't recommend it in a glass boat! We ended up launching else-where after two hours of digging snow and ice to clear the ramp and finnaly we were on the water by 10:30am. Decided to try the open are in front of the cement plant and the flat from the cement plant to the ferry. First and only fish of the day for us came at around 1:00pm, a nine pounder that really gave a good account of itself. Had unfortunately, neglected to put my camera inside my float suit and it simply would not work, being as cold as it was. Did put my camera in my suit after releasing the fish but we were not fortunate enough to get another opportunity to use it again. We did run into some friends who were also out today, they fished the Adolphus Reach area and got three including at 14 that I saw them taking pics of. What a monster! They are having it mounted so, what's a guy to say... nothin! We marked most of our fish near the ferry and beyond into the Reach. Actually, the graph was lookin pretty much like it did a few weeks back, big marks all over, if ya know what I mean. Got to the point I simply ignored the graph, it was either that, or start slamming my head into the gunnel! It was a tad brisk, but not too bad, but it seems to me that the days are numbered for open water fishin on the Q! HH PS... we did venture to the Bath launch as well, very shallow, but definately OPEN! A small aluminium and chest waders and you'd be good to go, if you don't mind too much water in front of your tow vehicle, when your launching!
  24. That's what I'm hoping NOT TO SEE on Thursday at the Q! At least your tried Wayne! HH
  25. Soya, Orange juice, white wine, garlic, salt, pepper. venison tenderloin in the fridge for two days, onto a hot grill for four minutes, some garlic mashed, and damn veg you want... pm me when it's ready! HH
